Changes in the Muñoz Household

September 30, 2009

The Muñoz Family is going through another big change in our lives… Bella is about to move to a new daycare. For us, it’s a big deal. She’s 2 ½ and has only moved once since she started going to daycare at 3 months old. We like her knowing her teachers and friends, but lately she has not been happy at the daycare she is at now. This morning she actually said she didn’t want to go to school today. She never has said that before. So it’s time. We found a daycare that is a little out of my way to work, but has an abundance of things for her to do during the week. They have art class, Spanish class, dance class, gym, movie day, cooking class (of course at her age means pouring things into a bowl), an indoor and outdoor playground, and a mini pool for the kids. We visited last week and couldn’t believe our eyes on how much there was to do! They also have a tae-kwon-do class that’s extra, but Bella saw the kids doing it and wanted to, so we’ll sign her up for that soon too. The other great thing about it is it’s literally 2 minutes from Grandma & Grandpa’s house. So if anything (God forbid) happens, she can be there in a heartbeat. Bella will be starting on Nov. 2 at the new daycare, so I will keep everyone updated!

Last night was a little weird again. Bella was very quiet after I got her from school. She sat with me until Daddy got home. She did like helping me cook dinner, but didn’t like what I made! So, I ended up making mac-n-cheese and she ate it up. After we got a bath, and watched P&F until it was bedtime. She went out like a light and slept all night. The last 2 days I’ve picked her up from daycare she has been really quiet. Ms. Hailey says she is fine in class, and she wore undies all day and didn’t have 1 accident the whole day! She still seems upset or introverted. Hopefully it’s just a phase and nothing more. We’re always worried parents though!

Weekend Away

September 29, 2009

As you probably know, I am a huge, HUGE planner. I do everything way in advance. I am not one of those fly by the seat of my pants kind of person. To show this, I started packing this morning for our trip we are taking on Friday! I know, I know, but I over pack, and worry that I’ll forget something all the time. So let me tell you where we are going… Roanoke! Nope not Virginia… Roanoke, TX. Some of our closest friends live there and we are going to visit and spend a weekend with them! Zach & Audrey are great friends, and we just don’t get to see them enough! Bella is going to stay with Grandma & Grandpa Friday & Saturday night. We’re taking the puggies with us because they also have a pug. It’s going to be a fun filled weekend consisting of Mexican food, college football (even though our Horns have the week off), shopping at Southlake Town Square, and just getting to catch up with them. Every time we get together we do nothing but laugh and have a great time, and I have a feeling this time will be the same!

I will be calling Grandma somewhat often to check on Bella, but I know she is excited to stay with them and they are excited to have her. So the packing has started, and Friday after work we will be going to Roanoke to enjoy the weekend! Now if we could only have sunny beautiful weather, it would be perfection!

Fun Times!

September 28, 2009

This weekend really was a lot of fun! Saturday while Daddy was working, Bella & I went to Target and got her some cute silver flats to wear with her dresses. She loved them! She also wanted some pink glitter flats, that I had to promise to buy her next time. Afterwards, we went home and Bella fell fast asleep! While she was asleep, Eric came home from work. She woke up just in time to realize we were both home which made her very excited! Afterwards, we watched a little bit of the Texas game, and then headed to Barton Creek Mall to let Bella meet Barney! When we rounded the corner at the mall and she saw Barney standing there, she screamed his name and hugged me! She was so excited! We ended up being there for over an hour just watching him. He even waved at her and she just was sooo excited! Afterwards, we headed to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner. Bella did great at the restaurant and when we finished we let her play in the kids area at the mall.

Sunday we took family pictures with Melissa. Bella would not look at the camera and smile at all, so we're hoping for one or two good pictures! We've decided to start taking more family pictures and get Bella used to it. Afterwards, Grandma & Grandpa came over to help us fix our garage door, and then they took Bella with them for the night. Eric & I went to Chuy's for dinner and then just relaxed at home. Such a great weekend!

Bella @ The Domain

She was trying to climb this light pole... didn't work so well, but she had fun!

Can you tell she never looks at the camera?!

Me & my baby girl playing at the Domain

On a side note, today would have been my Mom's 63rd birthday. I miss her terribly, and wish she was here to celebrate it. I hope she is having a wonderful birthday up there!
Love you Mom!

Great Weekend Ahead!

September 25, 2009

I am very excited for this weekend! Tomorrow, our beloved Longhorns will be playing the UTEP Miners @ Darryl K. Royal Stadium at 2:30 p.m. We're hoping for a huge blowout, but will be happy with a win! Gotta stay #2 in the BCS!
Afterwards, we are heading to the mall to have Bella meet Barney in person! We haven't told her yet, just incase it's insane there, but we are hoping to get a picture of them together! She is going to be so excited to see him live!

Sunday is picture day for our family! We've been wanting to get a new family picture taken, so hopefully Bella will do well and we can get a few to hang up on the walls. Overall, a great family weekend ahead! I can't wait!!

Full Update on my Baby Girl!

September 23, 2009

I feel like it’s been a few weeks since I’ve updated everyone on what Bella has learned and is learning. So I’ll try to list them off, and not boast too much!

She has learned to say “Good Morning” in sign language. She does it constantly! Especially right after we wake her up in the mornings. So cute!

She is now learning to kick soccer ball, hit a (soft) baseball (with a plastic bat), do somersaults, and run the bases! She loves sports, so we are getting her back into gymnastics soon! We figure she can try each sport and she what suits her best! As her Mommy, I am hoping for either dance or gymnastics! Her Daddy is hoping for soccer. So we shall wait to see!

She is in a very cuddly stage right now. She loves to give me kisses and hugs, especially when I pick her up at daycare. I can’t get enough of it! When we get home we always sit together on Daddy’s chair and watch one of her shows. It’s “Mommy & Bella time”. I cherish every day!

Her favorite shows right now are Phineas & Ferb, Barney, and Backyardigans. She loves them all, and we watch them constantly! When 7 p.m. rolls around, she asks if she can watch one more show before bath time, so she ends up taking her bath and then watching her show right before bed.

We can be driving somewhere and she will know what store we passed or where we are. If we pass an HEB, she always tells me “Mommy, look an HEB!!” And when we pass Gattiland, she screams pizza. On Saturday I drove past our street and she said, “Mommy you passed our street! Are we not going home?” I just sat there shocked that she knew that!

And as stated before, her potty training is going great!

All in all, she is a normal, happy, beautiful, smart 2 year old! And her Daddy and I couldn’t be more happier. She is the light of our lives!

Potty Training Update

Last night we had our first snafu with potty training. Eric had put Bella to bed around 8 p.m. At around nine, she woke up and told us she needed to go potty! We were so excited and ran her to the restroom, where she went potty on her own! She is at the stage where she kinda wants us to stay outside the restroom while she potties. So Eric stood outside, while Bella proceeded to use half a roll of toilet paper and flush it all at once. Eric looked in and noticed the toilet was overflowing! He screamed to me to come get Bella, and I scooped her up just in time before the water got on her. She started crying thinking she had done something wrong, so I calmed her down and let her know we were so proud of her going potty, but we need to learn to use a little (lot) less tp when we go. While I did this, Eric grabbed old towels and stopped the toilet and cleaned the restroom. Afterwards, we all 3 laid in bed together until Bella was fast asleep.

Bella is doing so well at potty training! She pretty much has a dry Pull-Up on when she is at home, because right when she says potty, Eric and I run to get her on. She goes right away! The only time there is a need for the Pull-Up is overnight.

She has started reverting back to Barney. She just loves singing and dancing to his shows the whole time, so this Saturday we are taking her to the Barton Creek Mall to meet him. Him & a new friend from the show will be there meeting the kids and I can’t wait to get a picture with him & Bella! She literally can sing every single song he has and so can I at this point! It’s one of her favorite things to do with her Momma!

Anniversary Weekend!

September 21, 2009

We had such a great anniversary! We ended up getting to Fogo De Chao early and luckily they seated us right away! We ate until we couldn’t stand the sight of food! Then we went back to our hotel and watch our Longhorns play a great game against Texas Tech. I was so proud of Colt McCoy! He played the whole game, even though he had the flu! And because of him and the whole team, we won and stayed at #2 in the rankings! It made for a wonderful anniversary night!

Yesterday we just relaxed all day and spent time together. Eric’s parents wanted to keep Bella until we met for dinner. So we took advantage and got sushi for lunch, and just spent time watching football and reminiscing over the past 5 years. We met Eric’s family to celebrate his mom’s birthday, and Bella did great! She ate well, and when we got home, she had a plum, played with Eric and I for a few hours, and went to sleep. Perfect night!

5 Years of Married Bliss

September 17, 2009

On this day 5 years ago, I married my soul mate. The man I knew I would spend the rest of my life with.

Today we celebrate not only 5 years married, but being happily married. We've survived a lot together and we have the most beautiful baby in the world because of our love for each other.

You are my rock, my life, my love.

Happy 5th Anniversary Eric!

Weeknight Date Night

September 16, 2009

Eric keeps telling me we need a night once a month during the week to ourselves. Grandma watches Bella, and him & I get to go to dinner and just relax and spend time together. I have always been against this idea, mainly because I want Bella home with us as much as possible. She loves going to Grandma’s and they love having her, but I’m selfish about my daughter and love spending as much time as possible with her. Grandma & Grandpa want her to stay at least once a week with them, which usually ends up bring a Friday or Saturday night and she has so much fun with them and they just love her. Well last night I finally gave in and had a weeknight date night! And can I say; it was wonderful! I called a few times and checked in on Bella, and of course she was fine and having a great time playing baseball with Grandma.

We both got home and changed, and I surprised Eric by taking him to Chuy’s. It’s his favorite, and he was very happy! We made it just in time for Happy Hour to end, so we managed to order margaritas before 7 p.m. We had a great meal, talked and caught up with each other, which doesn’t happen enough when I am cooking dinner and he is getting Bella ready for bed. When we got home, we watched a few shows and just relaxed! It really was a great night!

What topped it off was the weather! We’ve had tons of rain lately, and last night the clouds cleared and we got an hour or so of sun, and it was only 79 degrees! Perfect weather!

Can You Say Early?!

September 15, 2009

Okay let me start with the back story on this… September or October 2007… Bella’s 1st Halloween. I found the cutest tulip fairy costume online at Gymboree. They had sold out online, so I decided to go to the mall to buy Bella her Halloween costume from there. When I got there, the lady that worked there told me they were sold out of that costume. She was nice enough to call the 3 other stores in town and they too were sold out!! I then got on the phone with friends and family all over Texas to ask them to check, which they did and no luck! I finally had to end up buying it off Ebay for more than what it was originally priced! (Not too much more, but with shipping it cost a little more) Needless to say, I promised myself, Bella, and my hubby that I would never go through that again.

Back to today… I went to Old Navy at lunch because they are having a sale on Fall baby clothes. I had already decided Bella was going to be a butterfly this year, and when I asked her what she wanted to be she also said butterfly! I found the cutest butterfly costume at Old Navy & 25% off! So I grabbed her size and proceeded to buy it! No there are no worries or stress for this upcoming Halloween! Below is a picture of it! Btw, if you’ve been reading my blog for the past year, you might think it looks familiar… that would be because Bella was a kitty cat last year and Momma bought that on sale at Old Navy as well! And she LOVED it! Score one for Mom!

Update Time

Okay so I have 2 updates I wanted to post on!
1) My Daddy made it out of surgery and is in the hospital recovering. I haven't called anyone yet this morning to check in, but as of last night he was doing okay. Thank you to everyone who prayed for him! I really appreciate it!
2) We got Bella's picture proofs from school in, and they came out wonderful!! She actually looked at the camera and smiled!! We're purchasing some of both poses!
Tonight Bella is staying with Grandma. We had originally planned to go to the Salt Lick with Eric's friends, but the rain is kinda putting a damper on that. So Eric & I are having dinner together. He told me he would pick the place and not to worry, so I am not. It's our anniversary week, so this is just a little precursor to the actual anniversary date this Saturday!
Last night went well, Bella played with her new digital camera (aka our old camera) and LOVES taking pictures of everything and everyone! She is pretty good too! While she took pictures of the pups, I made turkey tacos. Yum! After dinner & bath, Bella was ready for bed. Which meant Eric & I got to sit down together with a glass of wine and popcorn, and watch the season premiere of our shows. What a great night!!

Crawl for Cancer pictures!

September 14, 2009

I am only posting the good ones! I posted all on Facebook, so look there for the rest!
The crawl was extremely wet (rained ALL day) but we still had tons of fun! Love the people we crawled with and hopefully we can do it again next year!

Crawl Weekend!

September 11, 2009

I’d like to start this post on this day by saying the following: 09/11 – We will NEVER forget! Thank you to our troops!” Please take a minute or two out to remember…
I can honestly say I remember every minute on 09/11/01. It’ll be burned into my memory forever.

This weekend is going to be such a blast! Starting at noon today since I am leaving work! Eric & I are heading to Maudie’s for a Mexican Martini & queso. Afterwards we will be picking up ours & 2 other teams shirts and maps for the crawl! Tonight we’re staying low key and having some fun with Bella. Gotta get a good night’s sleep to be ready for tomorrow!

Saturday we will be taking Bella to Grandma’s around 10 a.m. We will be catching up with Eric’s mom and seeing how Vegas went. Afterwards we are meeting our team at Rudy’s BBQ to get lunch and try to eat as much as possible. At 1 p.m. we will be officially “crawling”! It’s going to be so much fun, I can’t wait!! Cheryl is even bringing ping pong balls and cards with her. Haha for about 5 hours we get to be college kids again, with no worries, just having a blast with friends! Afterwards, we are heading to Frank & Angie’s Pizzeria for dinner. I am guessing with over 20 people who have been drinking beer for hours, we will be on the patio by ourselves! J

I will be posting Monday morning about all the fun we had! Hopefully I can upload the pictures Sunday to post as well!!

One last thing, and it’s very important to me… Please help me in praying for my Daddy (yes I still call him that!) He is having knee surgery Monday afternoon. I won’t be able to be there, so my sis is going to keep me in the loop. I know everything will be fine, but we are still a little worried. Thanks!

Picture Day!

September 9, 2009

Picture day is today at Bella’s daycare. They are really great and take the kiddos pictures every 6 months or so. Unfortunately for us, Bella doesn’t smile when she gets her picture taken. We still buy every picture she takes, and most of the time they come out cute, but just not smiley adorable which I know my Bella is!

So all morning long we were practicing her smile. Eric & I kept saying “Okay when the people tell you to smile, what do you do?” And she smiles her biggest smile. When I took her to school this morning, she went to the teacher and said “This is how I’m going to smile for the camera today!” I was so proud of her and she seemed like she was excited and ready to get her picture taken!

Now we have to wait for a few weeks for the pictures to come back! So we shall see…

Also we’re taking family pictures next weekend! I ordered her the cutest dress, and hopefully it will be here in time! She will be just adorable! I can’t wait!

Can you tell I’m a picture taking Momma?!

Crawl for Cancer 2009

September 8, 2009

On Saturday morning, me & 12 of my friends will be meeting at Rudy’s to eat as much bbq as we can stuff into our pie holes. All in hopes of having a blast and making it home safely! Why you ask? Because right afterwards we will be hitting 6th Street in Downtown Austin, along with 12 other friends (2 teams) to Crawl for Cancer! Each team will be going to 5 bars, having 4 pitchers of beer per bar, and then happily ending with dinner at Frank & Angies! It’s a fun filled time and all the money goes to cancer research! Many a picture will be taken, we’ll see how many I actually can post here! Be on the look out!

Labor Day Weekend

This past weekend was fun! My sister and nephew came in on Friday evening and we all went to get some Rudy’s. They food was yummy, and my sweet sis brought a few bottles of wine for the weekend, so we opened one of those to celebrate her being in town!

Saturday the weather was pretty yucky, so we headed to the outlets for a bit and then came back and watched our TEXAS LONGHORNS win their 1st game!! We were so happy that they won and OU lost!! Made our weekend!!

Sunday we took Tanya & Austyn to our church and then we all went to the waterpark for a few hours. Austyn & Bella loved the water park a little too much. When we got home Bella wasn’t feeling well. Tanya & Austyn decided to head back to Irving to get a jump on the holiday traffic, which lucked out because Bella was asleep by 5:30 that night. Poor bambino was just tuckered out!

Monday was a cleaning and getting ready for work day. Bella played all day and didn’t go to bed until we did @ 9:30! Too much sleep the night before we suspected! Anyway overall a great relaxing and fun weekend!

We want to say thank you to Tanya & Austyn for coming down this weekend! We had a ton of fun and can’t wait to see you again soon! Love you both very much!

Hook 'Em Baby!!

September 3, 2009

This being the kickoff college football weekend, I just had to make a post showing my love for my Horns!!
Eric & I firmly believe we will win the National Championship this year!!!
Go Horns Go!!
Give em Hell; Give em Hell! OU Sucks!
The Eyes of Texas Are Upon you 'till Gabriel blows his horn!!

Hook 'Em Horns!!

Labor Day Weekend Ahead!

Last night went well, we watched tv, and I made enchiladas which didn’t turn out well at all, so Bella, Eric, & I ended up eating cereal! Too funny, but Bella also ate some grapes which she just loves!

Tonight we’re having dinner with Brian & Merri Su. We haven’t seen them (other than birthday parties) in a while so it’ll be nice to catch up with them. Then I’ll be cleaning and getting ready for my sister and nephew to come over tomorrow. It should be a fun weekend! We plan on taking the kiddos to the waterpark Saturday afternoon, then bbqing and watching the 1st Longhorns’ Football Game!! We will be sporting the burnt orange pride all night!!

Sunday we will be going to church in the morning, and plan on taking them to Maudie’s for dinner that night. It’s me & my sister’s favorite restaurant, so we are planning on enjoying a nice Mexican Martini and delicious Mexican food. They have the best enchiladas! Yummm!

I am doubtful I’ll be posting tomorrow with working and trying to clean and wash sheets, etc. all day. So from the Muñoz Family to yours…..

Happy Labor Day!

Sleepy Time

September 2, 2009

Since we got back from the cruise in April, Bella has been very attached to us. Even going as far as having seperation anxiety. Needless to say, she has started sleeping with us at night. I never let her sleep in our bed as a baby, but felt so bad once we got back, that I let her sleep with us. Then we bought the new house, and that set her off and she kept sleeping with us. Now she is starting to sleep in the guest room (for some reason she wants nothing to do with her own bed!), which is nice, but wakes up in the middle of the night screaming. Eric & I are both pretty heavy sleepers, but inevitably he'll end up going in there to calm her and falls asleep with her. I honestly don't have any idea what to do anymore. I am glad she is sleeping on her own, but the middle of the night crying has got to stop. I feel like she is 4 weeks old again!
Tonight we are going to try her room and see how that ends up. Daddy can't fit into a toddler sized bed, so hopefully this will help stop the sleeping in guest room phase! We shall see...

Easy Monday

September 1, 2009

Today is Eric’s 1st day at his new branch. He seemed very relaxed and not too nervous. In the 6 years he’s worked there, he’s been transferred well over 20 times, so it’s old hat to him by now. I am always excited for him though! He’s much closer to home now, which we both are very happy about! So…
Good Luck Honey! I know you will be awesome there!

Last night was very low key for us. Bella didn’t come home from daycare in a good mood, and she let us both know it by crying everytime the channel changed, or the dogs walked near her. She was definitely tired, so she got her bath and was asleep by 8 p.m. Afterwards, Eric worked on the computer, and I felt extremely tired so I fell asleep by 8:30! It was nice since I had to wake up early for a meeting at work @ 7:30 a.m.

Only 4 more days until kickoff for the Texas Longhorns 2009 Season! We’re ranked #2 this year (well deserved I might add!) and can’t wait to see what this football year will bring for our boys! Hook ‘Em Horns!!
