As This Decade comes to a Close

December 31, 2009

This past decade has been the absolute best decade of my life so far. I went to college, moved to Austin, met & married my soul mate, Eric, had our Angel, Bella, bought a few houses & cars, and overall had a wonderful 10 years! I can only hope my next 10 will be almost as good as the last!

Tonight we are staying home to celebrate the new year as a family. We started this tradition last year and just loved it! We'll let Bella stay up a little later than usual, then after she goes to bed, we will ring the new year in with some wine. Just me & Eric. LOVE it!

Tomorrow morning, we are heading to DFW to see my family. We were so rushed last week, we decided to come back and let Bella spend a little more time with her family. We will also be meeting our friends in Southlake Saturday for lunch to celebrate Zach's birthday. They haven't seen Bella in a while, and I haven't seen Audrey with a baby bump, so it'll be a lot of fun. I also have tons of shopping to do there. I have gift cards burning in my pocket and the shopping in Dallas is much better than Austin! :) We also have to order Bella's birthday cake. I sent out the invitations to her 1st party in Arlington today. I really hope that some of the kids we invited get to come, because the last 2 years it's been all adults. Her 2nd party will be the weekend after here in Austin.

So as 2009 comes to a close...

Here's to everyone! Hoping each and every one of you has a wonderful decade ahead of you! Goodbye 2009, welcome to 2010!!

Happy New Year!

Christmas Post #1

I was planning on posting tons of pictures on here last night, and then we ended up having dinner with some friends at the Salt Lick and having them come back to our house to watch the Monday Night Football game. Needless to say, I didn't even get to upload them to my computer last night. That will be done tonight though and posted asap.

Here's how our Christmas was in a nutshell... Enjoy!

Christmas was wonderful! Christmas Eve went great. We woke up and finished cleaning the house before Eric's parents and sister came over. Bella was in a great mood all day! We started by cooking tons of food (thank you to my mother in law for helping me cook everything!). After we were done, we all sat together and watched Ghost Adventures. Not something we normally watch, but there wasn't too much on tv and it was actually pretty interesting! Afterwards, Sandra went back home to get all the presents and wait for Mark to get off work. We got dressed and went to the 6 p.m. church service. It was freezing cold here (with no snow!) so we bundled up and left early for service. When we got there they were doing a practice run, so we sat there and got to see the behind the scenes at Shoreline. Eric & I really feel that this is our church home. We've never felt so happy to go to church as we did that night. Bella looked adorable in her red velvet dress and tights. She did really well for the 1st half of the service and then we had to leave before the meltdown started. The nice thing was we got to watch the service beforehand, so we didn't miss too much. The one thing that really made us feel the Christmas Spirit and meaning of Christmas was when we saw a man in his dress blues (Marine) come in and his mom was sitting right in front of us. He surprised her at church by coming home from Afghanistan! She had no idea he was home, and she cried so much once she saw him! The lady sitting beside me and I started crying right along with her. It was a Christmas miracle right in front of us!

Once service was over, we went back to our house. Mom had been keeping all the food warm, so when we got back, Sandra & Mark came over and we had a wonderful dinner. Bella ate all her meal and loved it! She was so excited to open presents, so we let her open all of them from us, Aunt Sandra & Uncle Mark, Grandma, & Grandpa. She got a chalk board, a baby doll with a stroller, clothes, shoes, a barbie, a princess castle, etc. She just loved it! She was able to play with her dolls and chalk board and then we could tell she was getting sleepy, so we put cookies & milk out for Santa and she went to bed. Afterwards, we played Wii bowling & table tennis in teams, and Eric & I lost all 4 games. We played Guesstures and finally won! Eric's parents have prizes for whichever team wins, so we won tons of necessities and extras! It was tons of fun! We ended the night by opening our gifts. Eric got me a beautiful white coat that I love! Eric's parents got us a steam machine for our carpets, a new bedding set for our room, and tons of clothes and gift cards! I got Eric a Wii, and then his parents got him Beatles Rockband for Wii. Sandra & Mark got him Madden 2010 for Wii so Eric has plenty of games to play. We ended up getting me the Wii Fit to work out with. I love it!

Christmas morning we woke up at 6 a.m. and woke Bella up. She slept in our room that night because she was so excited for Santa to come, and we were worried she would wake up in the middle of the night. She slept right through and we had to wake her up! She went downstairs and her eyes lit up! She got a Radio Flyer wagon, barbies, a doll with a stroller (again!), a princess castle (again!), and tons of clothes and shoes from Santa. She was overjoyed! We got everything packed into the car and headed to Grand Prairie to celebrate with my family. Everything was great and we were making good time until we hit Alvarado. That's where the ice started. There were accidents up and down 35 & I-20. We drove extremely slow and made it to Dad's safely. Brent was already there, so we all hung out and had breakfast. Tanya & Austyn couldn't get here because of the roads, so we ended up opening presents around noon. Bella got dress up clothes, a nightie, clothes, and a few more toys! She was just so excited for all her new presents! Afterwards we watched a movie called "Nothing Like the Holidays" which is about a Puerto Rican family, and it was too funny! It totally reminded us of our family! We ended the day by having Christmas dinner and relaxing on the couch. It was such a great holiday! Bella really got to enjoy it this year. We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! Pictures to come!

Quick Monday Post

December 28, 2009

This is just a quick post to let everyone know we had such a wonderful Christmas! Bella’s eyes light up more than once and Santa was very sweet to her. I took tons of pictures on Christmas Eve and none Christmas Day except for Bella opening presents from Santa. I will try to post some pictures tonight! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I will post all about ours soon! Thanks and Happy Monday!!

What a Crazy & Wonderful Night!

December 22, 2009

Last night was a crazy, wonderful night! We met Melissa, Michael, & Baby Alex at Jardin Corona’s for dinner. They have wonderful Mexican food there and it’s somewhere we know Bella can dance in the isles if she so desires, and not get bad looks from other diners in the restaurant. So we got there and it was packed! Barely found a parking spot let alone a table. We all squished into a booth, which was good because it keeps Bella between me & Eric during dinner. Bella did great. She was shy to Melissa and Michael, but she talked to them and we exchanged gifts for the kids. Bella got an adorable purple outfit and a Dora book. Bella loves Dora, so she was very happy. We got Alex a Christmas outfit and some cute shoes to wear when she gets a little bigger. Dinner went great catching up with them and getting to see Alex again. Who, by the way, is absolutely adorable!! Here’s the kicker… when we were finished with dinner, our server comes over and tells us that the lady that was sitting in the booth next to ours PAID for all of our meal!! What?! She was so sweet! Melissa, Bella, & I ran her down and told her thank you so much! She said she has 9 grandkids and ours reminded her of them. How absolutely sweet is that?! We were shocked and so thankful! After we were completely done, Bella was standing in the isle waiting and an older man came over and asked if her could give her a dollar because she was just so beautiful and such a good girl during dinner?!?! We of course said it was fine and Bella promptly said thank you. We again were shocked and thankful. Before he walked away he told her she was special and not to change! How adorable!! We have to say, the Lord works in mysterious ways! When we got into the car, Eric & I were talking about it. Eric’s been having a slow time at work lately, and is losing cars off his lot because of it. That in turn means less money he makes. Not good at this time of the year. Eric said he’s been feeling a little down because of it, but after last night, he is definitely keeping a positive attitude! Thank you Lord for showing us that there are great people in this world especially around Christmas!

Today is my last day at work until next Monday, so this will be my absolute last post before Christmas. I pray each and every one of you who reads this has a blessed Christmas! May you spend time with loved ones and realize the true meaning of this holiday.

Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas!

Pictures from our Anniversary

December 20, 2009

Last night, Eric & I celebrated 10 years together. We had so much fun and it was great to get out and be by ourselves for a few hours. Usually, if Bella is at Grandma's we'll meet up with friends. Tonight was all us! Eric made reservations at McCormick & Schmicks in the Domain. The food is mostly seafood from all over the world, and it was delicious!! We also got to walk around the Domain and check out the lights and sounds of the holidays. It was a wonderful night!

They had snow for kids to play in at the Domain. It was so cute!

Our menu at the restaurant. They actually had put Happy Anniversary on the menu for us!
We took one of the menus home as a keepsake!

Isn't that neat?! And very romantic!

Me & my love celebrating a decade together! :)

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas!

December 19, 2009

This year we decided to celebrate Eric's family Christmas at our new home. We always celebrate with them on Christmas Eve, so I took the day off before Christmas Eve to clean the house and get all the food ready. It's tradition that we go to church on Christmas Eve night, although last year Bella cried so much we had to leave church before it even started! This year our service is at 6 p.m. I am planning on cooking all day before, and just warming it up when we get back. Eric's parents are coming over during the day to help cook, and bring all their presents to put under the tree. Mom said she will stay here and keep the food warming while we go to church. Mark has to work that day, so they will be over around 7, which is when we'll be getting home, so it works out perfectly! After we all get here, we'll celebrate with Christmas dinner, and then let Bella open her Christmas gifts from everyone. I can't wait for her to actually get to open them herself and get the whole idea of Christmas. We're trying to teach her that it's about Jesus' birth, so hopefully church can help us in that aspect. We also try to teach her about giving. We want her to know that Christmas is not only about opening presents, but spending time with family, and helping those in need as well.

After she opens her gifts, we'll head upstairs so she can go to bed. Then we'll open all of our gifts with Eric's family. We all sit in a circle and open them one at a time, so everyone can see what each got. Makes it a lot more fun! Then we finish by playing games together. This is always tons of fun! This year we are playing some brain game on the Wii, and Guesstures. I thought it would be hilarious to see everyone try to act out the things on cards. Eric's mom & dad always have prizes for the winners of the games. It's tons of fun!!

Christmas morning, we will wake up around 6 a.m. or so & let Bella open her gifts from Santa! She met Santa yesterday at school and told him she wants a baby doll, Spiderman, and Barney. Hopefully, Santa listened well and she will get all the gifts she wants. We also wrote a letter to Santa and took it to Macy's so they could get it to him as quickly as possible. (Macy's donates money to Make A Wish Foundation for every letter they receive to give to Santa!) This is the 1st year she understands who Santa is and what he means. It just makes Christmas magical again having her here and so excited for Christmas to come!

After she opens her gifts from Santa, we will get into the car and drive to my Dad's house. Christmas morning at Dad's is so much fun. We all get there around 10ish and right away we open all the gifts. Then Dad makes a yummy breakfast! We all eat, and then it's back to bed for most of us. I will stay up until Bella takes her nap and then nap right along with her. It's tradition in our house to watch my Dad's favorite Christmas movie, A Christmas Story! He loves the Red Rifle! haha Me & my sister always just go along with it, but we secretly love watching it as well! After all the movies have been watched, we have our Puerto Rican Christmas Dinner! We have pernil (roasted pork), rice & beans, and pasteles (can't describe these, but they are my absolute favorite!!) Then it's relaxing on the couches and just catching up.

Saturday we are going to Carol & Jack's in the morning. We haven't seen them in months, and it's always nice to catch up. Carol has always been like a second mom to me, and she was my mom's best friend. She just loves seeing Bella and letting her play with all her toys! And I love eating her homemade Christmas Fudge!! :)

Christmas is such a wonderful time for our family, and especially for Bella. We hope everyone has a wonderful, magical, special, love filled Christmas! Please remember the reason for the season, there would be no Christmas without Christ! Love you all and have a very Merry Christmas!!

We've Gone to the Dark Side!

December 18, 2009

Last night we finally gave up on our laptop and went to Best Buy and bought a new Mac Pro Laptop. Yep, that’s right, we are now Mac users!! We have officially gone to the “dark side”, and we’re all Apple! IPhone, IPod, & now the Mac… Apple, we love you!

On another note, today Bella is meeting and taking a picture with Santa at school, plus they are having a Christmas party where they are exchanging books as gifts. She couldn't stop talking about meeting Santa today! She was so excited from the moment she woke up. I am praying she does well, and doesn't cry when she sits on his lap! We also brought cupcakes for her party in her class, and she is wearing an adorable dress with stripped leggings. Just adorable, and I forgot to take a picture.

At my work, we’re having a luncheon & a white elephant exchange. I hate white elephants, but at least we’re all supposed to buy something nice. We shall see what I get!

This weekend, Eric & I are celebrating our 10th anniversary together. We’re going for dinner in the Domain, and then maybe a movie or out for drinks. I am so excited to just get away and spend time with my hubby!
And yes, I keep changing my blog! I love all the cute Christmas blog backgrounds, so I wanted to put them all on here. This will be the last change until after Christmas weekend! Hope you like it!

Have a great weekend, and only 7 days until Christmas!!!

Munoz Year in Review 2009

December 17, 2009

We see these family reviews of the past year going out and thought it was a great idea! Here's ours! Enjoy!!

2009 has been a good year in the Munoz house. Over the past 12 months, we have watched Bella go from walking to running, from saying a little bit, to talking about everything and anything all the time! As all of you know, Bella is our pride & the joy in our lives, so most of this letter will be about her. She is turning 3 at the end of January, but watching her, you would think she is turning 4! Bella is so smart and loves to sing, dance, color, talk, and she is learning Spanish. Eric & I just adore her and love every minute we get to spend together.

Also in 2009, we were blessed to be able to buy our house in Round Rock. We always dreamed of having a 2-story house where we can raise Bella, and we finally made that dream come true. She loves having a game room, and her own big Disney Princess bedroom. We also invested in a new SUV, that Summer just adores. After being in 2 accidents (both of them minor thank goodness!) we decided to get a safer, bigger car and it has worked out perfectly.

2009 also brought a few sorrows; we lost a friend along the way, who we will miss. As everyone probably has, we felt the bad economy hit us as well. Thank God we both have kept our jobs, and for that we are truly grateful!

We are thankful for the health of ourselves and our family. Speaking of family, we are truly blessed to have both of our families. Bella was able to meet her Abuelita and Great Uncle at Thanksgiving, as well as spend time with all aunts, uncles, grandparents & great-grandparents throughout the year.

Lastly, this year, Summer & Eric celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary in September and their 10th anniversary together in December. We cannot believe it’s been 10 years, and we are so glad that the love & friendship we have for each other is still strong and will remain.

So, as 2009 comes to a close, we want to say thank you to all of our friends and family for being there for us and for caring and loving all 3 of us. We are thankful for each and every one of you, and couldn’t imagine our lives without you.

Here's to a safe, healthy, happy, & joy-filled 2010!

Rollercoaster of a Night

Last night, Eric's mom watched Bella because one of my friends, Cheryl, came in from Dallas. We had all decided to meet at Kona Grill for happy hour. When we got there the place was packed, so we went inside and just had a regular dinner. Eric came along with me, because we had a few errands to run afterwards. We had so much fun with all the girls catching up, having some wine, and eating some sushi! It was just great to see everyone again!

Afterwards, we went to Bed, Bath, & Beyond to get Bella's humidifier. Stupid me forgot to bring the 20% off coupon, so we headed back home to get it. I couldn't find the coupon anywhere, so we ended up going back out to the BB&B by our house. They didn't have any of the humidifiers like the 1st place had. We ended up deciding to wait until this weekend when we're not rushing to get her one. Problem solved... until we got to Best Buy! The plug on our laptop is not working and so our laptop is not charging or holding a charge at all. We went to BB to get one, and found out the stupid plug is $100!! What?! Our computer is on it's last leg as it is, and investing that much for a few months use doesn't seem very smart. So we started looking at laptops, only to decide we need to do more research before buying anything. We ended up at home with nothing purchased, and extremely irritated at how the night ended up... I pray Thursday goes better...

A Decade

December 16, 2009

Today, Eric & I celebrate 10 years together. We met in 1999 as freshman in college, and neither of us knew just how happy & in love we would be together 10 years later. I've said this many times on this blog, but Eric truly is my soul mate & the love of my life. Of course we have ups & downs like every couple, but we get through them with love & communication. Because of our love for each other, we have made a beautiful daughter who completes our family. I couldn't have imagined that we'd be happy, healthy, and loved as much as we are today.

Eric, I love you with my whole heart, and I can't wait to spend the next 10 years together! LOVE YOU!

Health Update

December 15, 2009

Update on Daddy & Bella’s health:
Both are a –okay, and just have head colds! Thank God it’s nothing serious! Dr. B did say we need to get her a good humidifier in her bedroom to help with allergies and colds. We bought one when she was young, but it broke early on, and we didn’t think about them again, so tonight we are going to Bed, Bath, & Beyond to get her a good humidifier. Dr. Z (our doctor) told Eric it seems he has a slight case of asthma. Nothing too serious, but he can hear it in his lungs. Overall, they are both fine, just having to change a few things up a bit until they get better.

Last night was not good! I picked Bella up from Grandma’s, and on the way home, saw there was a serious accident on 183. I decided to take the back roads home thinking I was being smart. I was proven wrong, because everyone decided to go the same way. We ended up getting home about 45 minutes later than normal. Eric got off work 20 minutes late, so we decided cooking was not an option. We would have had to eat dinner around 8 p.m. & Bella was already asleep on the car ride home. Needless to say, Eric picked up some dinner, and we ate and got bathed and in bed pretty early.
Tonight hopefully will be better, and we can get in and out of BB&B as quickly as humanly possible!

BTW, only 10 days until Christmas!

The Munoz Family Christmas Pictures

December 14, 2009

After dinner last night, we took a bunch of family Christmas pictures. Some of them came out really cute! I will post those below! Eric's family is just the sweetest, most loving family. I am so glad to be a part of them!

Christmas Shopping is Done!

All done!! We are officially done with Christmas shopping! I even have all gifts wrapped and under the tree. Let me tell you, the stress is almost completely gone! Thank goodness!! That is the good news, bad news… Bella & Eric are both sick. They have been coughing all weekend, and not getting much sleep at all. Bella woke up this morning and asked if she could go to Grandma’s because she wasn’t feeling well. Eric called his mom, and we took her there for the day. She has an appointment with Dr. Booker this afternoon to see what’s going on. I am sitting on hold with our doctor to make Eric an appointment as well. They just need to be better before Christmas!
This weekend was pretty fun! We finished shopping and wrapping, and the weather was just beautiful yesterday. Last night, we celebrated Eric’s dad & Mark’s birthday. We went to Mesa Rosa for dinner, then took family Christmas pictures. Afterwards, we went to Cedar Park and saw a house that is light up and goes with music. Eric & I take Bella every year. Mark’s also doing the same thing to their house, so we watched that one as well. Afterwards, we had cake and they opened their gifts. It was a lot of fun!
This week is jammed packed with Christmas & anniversary fun! Wednesday is Eric & my 10 year dating anniversary! 10 years!! We will be having a mini celebration on Saturday night. Friday, Bella’s school is having a Christmas party & everyone is bringing a book wrapped to share. My work is also having their Christmas luncheon Friday, so I will be bringing a garlic cheese dip. We are also having a white elephant gift exchange on Friday. I hate white elephant because I always end up with something stupid. But hopefully, this time will go better!

Happy Monday! Only 11 days left until Christmas!!

Bella's Singing Debut

December 11, 2009

My little Angel did so awesome last night at her 1st recital! We met at Eric’s parents’ house for dinner & to get Bella all set and ready to go. Bella was so excited she was singing her songs in the car and for her Grandparents, and she couldn’t stay still! I seemed to be just as excited as she was. Eric’s parents & sister came to watch her sing as well. We were so proud!
We got to her school and it was crowded to say the least. Both of her teachers were in her class. They had her best artwork at her desk for all of us to see. When we got to her class, she started acting very shy, but we think it was because she thought we were dropping her off like we do in the mornings. Once she realized we were all staying, she started settling down a bit and showing us her classroom. She had made the cutest artwork, and all 5 of us were so impressed.
After 15 minutes or so, they got both classes lined up and they got to sing to us! You should have seen the huge group of Dad’s (Eric & his Dad included!) with their camcorders on! All the Mom’s (Grandma’s & Auntie’s included!) with our cameras flashing like crazy! It was so much fun! Bella at first wasn’t singing, but after a minute or two, she started and she sounded just precious!
After they sang, we all went to the “50’s Diner” to have brownies & juice. Since Bella did so well, we promised to buy her a new book to take home. They were having a book fair at the front of the daycare, so she picked a Dora the Explorer book & a cute pen. She was just so happy and excited the whole time!
Afterwards, we got Eric’s car and headed home. She was out like a light within minutes of going to bed.
Eric, Bella, & I want to say thank you to Grandma, Grandpa, & Aunt Sandra for coming to watch our little Angel sing. We were so glad you could come and enjoy the season with us! We love you all so much!

Christmas Recital

December 10, 2009

Tonight is Bella's 1st Christmas recital at her daycare. We have the video & digital camera charged up and ready to go! I am putting her in her Christmas dress for it, because her dress is a cute red velvet romper. She is going to be aborable! She keeps singing her Christmas songs on the way home every night, so I think she is pretty excited about it as well. Eric's parents are coming with us to watch her, and we are so thankful for how much they help with Bella and are so into everything she does. Bella has great Grandparents on both sides!

I will try to post pictures Friday night! Happy Thursday!!

So Excited!

December 9, 2009

Tomorrow is Bella's 1st recital! They are having a Christmas recital and open house at her school tomorrow night. I have her outfit all picked and ready to go, Eric's charging the video camera and digital camera, and Grandma & Grandpa are meeting us there as well! Bella's been singing Christmas carols all weekend, and I can't wait to see her perform.

I also found out that her class is the 3 1/2 year olds! Bella doesn't even turn 3 until the end of Jan! They said she is just too smart and needs to be with older kids! PROUD MOMMA HERE!! We were in 7th Heaven after the director told us that!!

We have officially put up all Christmas lights & decorations inside and out yesterday! Our house looks beautiful and I am so proud of Eric putting out the lights by himself. I also started wrapping Christmas gifts and putting them under our tree! Lastly, our Christmas cards (2nd time around) came in, and I am planning on having them all mailed out by the end of the week! Merry Christmas to all!!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

December 6, 2009

Today is Eric's Dad's Birtday and to celebrate we made 2 videos for him from Bella!

What a Game!

Last night I had the most fun, and yet was shaking during the very last second of the Horns game!! I am so excited that the Horns won the Big 12 Championship & now will be going to the BCS National Championship Game!! We have to play the hardest team this season, Bama, but hopefully we can bring it and win another National Championship!! TEXAS FIGHT!!

So last night at half time we went to Sandra & Mark's birthday party. It was a lot of fun, I got to see & catch up with friends I haven't seen in months. We took tons of pictures (as usual when we get together) and just had tons of fun.

Today we were planning on getting a few Christmas pictures taken for our Christmas cards, but it's cold and rainy (AGAIN!!) & Eric has to work this afternoon, so Bella & I are taking it easy and staying inside. I have tons of laundry & cleaning the house, so it's working out. This week I have to finish up Christmas shopping, decorating, and wrapping. Too much to do!!

Here are pictures from the party last night!

Sandra, me, & Sonia... love these girls!

Me & my sister in Law, also the birthday girl!

Sonia, Sandra, me, & Vicky

A few of the guys at the party... Dan, Mark, Tom, & Eric

We called this our Christmas Card picture! Turned out well!

Have a great Sunday, and hopefully the Cowboys can bring home a win today as well!!

Babbling

December 4, 2009

Supposedly it is snowing outside, but I’ve gone out twice and seen nothing. I was worried about getting to and from work today, but getting here was fine. No real ice or snow to see, but it was definitely cold. In fact it’s gotten colder since getting to work at 7:30 a.m. I am hoping it’s just a light snow and nothing to crazy or hard to drive in.

This weekend is the BIG GAME! UT vs. Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship! We are praying for a win! It’s also Christmas shopping for Eric & I. Bella is going to be at Grandma’s all day Saturday and Saturday night because they have been out of town most of the week. So that frees up time for Eric & I to work on getting our Christmas shopping almost done. Saturday night is Sandra & Mark’s birthday party. We will be going over after the game ends to celebrate with them. Should be a fun time!
Sunday, we are going to finish up out Christmas decorations inside & out of the house. Most of our street is lit up every night, except for us! Our neighborhood loves to decorate for every holiday and Christmas is just beautiful! Can’t wait to have ours up, and take tons of pictures!

Have a great weekend & HOOK ‘EM HORNS!!

Back to the Drawing Board

December 3, 2009

Tuesday night I got home and knew there was something waiting at our front door for me. I’ve been tracking them all week since they got shipped, and they were finally here… our family Christmas cards! I was so excited, until I opened them. They looked terrible. The clarity of the picture was horrible, too dark, and they were printed on cardboard paper! Not the pretty picture paper they always have been in the past years, cardboard!! I was so crushed! Eric came home and when he saw them he said it looked like something we could have made at home. And we’re not artsy at all… disappointing.
So Wednesday at lunch I promptly went to the post office and had them returned. I had called the Shutterfly customer service Tuesday night and was assured I would get a full refund including shipping costs. We shall see. I made sure to get a confirmation from the USPS so when they get delivered, I will know.
Now it’s back to the drawing board. Eric & I decided to go Sunday and take some Christmasy pictures at the Arboretum, like last year. Hopefully, Bella will be in a good enough mood to smile for the camera just once!
Tomorrow the weathermen are calling for snow! We haven’t had snow in Austin in years! I am so excited! Will be taking pictures!

Christmas Decorations

December 1, 2009

Here are the 1st pictures taken of our house this year during Christmas. I love my huge tree and beautiful fireplace. We still have to put the outside decorations out, which I will take and post here asap. Hope you like what we've done so far...

Our beautiful tree all lit up.
Excuse the wine glass... it was needed after decorating all day!

Our stockings and fireplace... love it!

Gotta have some Longhorns Christmas decorations!

My Dad & I started buying these last year, and will keep adding every year. Love them... just need people in front!

This was my Mom's. I put it in our entry way and light it every night.

Welcome December

Welcome December! You are one of my favorite months, and you came in with a blast of cold air! The weather here lately (since Sunday at least) has been cold and miserable. Each time I take Bella or pick her up, I have to run to get her into/out of the car. I am worried that she is going to catch a cold or worse from being wet & cold. Hopefully, we can bypass another cold for a while!
I know I only usually put the good things Bella does on here, but lately she has gotten into biting. She so far has not bit any children in her class, just her Momma. She got into trouble Friday at my Dad’s and when I was turned around, bit me in my behind!! I don’t mean just a playful bite, I mean I could feel it with my jeans on. I was so furious. She got in quite a bit of trouble, and cried for a while. Afterwards, I held her in my arms while we talked about why it’s not good to bite people. I thought she understood and went on her merry way. That night, she did something I asked her not to do, and when I told her no, she tried to bite my knee. I moved before she could get me this time, but I was again furious with her. I don’t know where she gets the biting from. She’s not been bit at school since she was 1! I can only hope this phase passes quickly, because if not both her and I will end up with red marks… And I don’t usually touch my child to hit or spank her, but I will not let her get away with biting anyone!
