I cannot be more happy that the weekend is finally here. I am letting all the stress go and just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful weather and spending time with my family. Eric is working this morning (surprise, surprise!) so Bella & I are going to head to Target to shop for Spring clothes for her. We love shopping together and hopefully she will be happy and good the whole time we're out! (fingers crossed) We also have to do some shopping once Eric gets home. The Domain is opening phase II today and you know we will be there to see what new stores they have! I heard they even have a Charming Charlie's! My favorite accessory store!
Tonight we're staying home and grilling steaks. Nice quiet evening at home to watch the last night of the Olympics. Tomorrow we will be watching the US play Canada for the gold medal in Hockey!! It's going to be great! I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Update: I just heard about the 8.8 earthquake that hit Chile this morning! Please help me in praying for everyone in and around Chile. They are saying that Hawaii is bracing for a tsunami because of the earthquake, which I also am praying does not happen. Thank you to anyone helping in praying for everyone in the Chilean nation!

With the exception of our snow day on Tuesday, this week has not been good. We took Bella to the dentist yesterday and found out she has 3 cavities! I didn't get my 1st cavity until I was 27, and she has 3 at 3 years old?! The dentist said it wasn't due to not brushing or eating wrong, but because she indentations in the back teeth and very low causing food to get caught where a toothbrush can't help. We've taken her to the dentist every 6 months without fail, and this is the 1st time we've heard anything about it. I felt terrible... so on March 26, Eric & I both took the day off to get her cavities filled and keep her home all day afterwards to rest.
Bad day #2 (which is 2nd day in a row) I went to pick Bella up from school today after work and found out she had a play this morning at 9 a.m! I asked the teacher how many parents came to watch and she politely told me pretty much every set of parents except for us. And when Bella didn't see us, she cried the whole time and couldn't be in the play because she was sobbing so badly! My heart just broke when I heard that! I was in meetings all morning and completely forgot about her play, and honestly didn't realize it was such a big thing.
Because of the crappy week & being overly stressed out lately, this week has been pretty bad. I can't be more happy for this week to end honestly. We have no plans for the whole weekend, and I couldn't be happier. I just want to stay home, have some family time and try to relax.

Feb. 23, 2010 (Austin Snow Day)

February 23, 2010

Today we got our 1st and probably only snow storm this winter! Bella's school called Eric around 4 to ask if we can pick her up early, so all the teachers can get home before it gets dark and the snow turns to ice. I promptly left work and headed straight to her school. Once I picked her up, she was so excited to see snow for the 1st time! We got home, and I bundled her up and let her play in the snow in our front yard. She just loved it!! I had her keep coming back in the house to warm up for a few minutes, and each time she would get upset and ask to go back out. When Eric got home, they had just a few minutes to play together and let me take more pictures before the sun set and dinner was ready. She hated coming inside, but ate really well, and is exhausted! She's got her footie pj's on and is headed for sleepy time! Enjoy the pictures...

This was a great weekend! We went out for drinks with Sandra, Mark, Chris, & Travis last night, which was a lot of fun! This morning we woke up early and cleaned the house before Bella got home. Once she came home, we had lunch, rode her bike around, went to the park, etc. It is 79 degrees out today and just absolutely beautiful!! A cold front is coming in tonight and we're in for below freezing temps again, so we tried to spend as much time outside today as possible. Bella had so much fun at the park, & I ran into Vicky who was there watching 2 kids for the weekend. We caught up a bit, and she got to see Bella again. It was so much fun! When we got home, I cooked dinner while Eric took Bella outside so she could ride her bike. After dinner we went out one last time and went for a walk, while we pulled Bella in her red wagon. She just loved it! Now it's bath time and time to relax and get ready for this week. Bella has a dental checkup Wednesday morning. Hopefully, it'll be a quick check up like last time. Here are some photos from today! Enjoy & hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

I think she's ready to go to the park!

1st thing she wanted to do was slide down the slides.

I absolutely love this picture!

Last night was relaxing for the most part. In observance of Lent, I made shrimp scampi for dinner. It's hard not to head to Rudy's since it's our Friday night tradition, but we enjoyed it and were able to save a little money in the process. Afterwards, we went to get gas, and decided to drive by the site of the plane crash for the first time. Even in the dark, with flood lights on the building, it was shocking and sad. 2 sides of the building were pretty much gone. Crazy how a small plane can cause such huge destruction. After we got home, we watching our Ghost Adventures and then caught some of the figure skating on the Olympics. Bella had almost fallen asleep in the car, so she was out like a light when we got home.

Right now, I am making cinnamon rolls for breakfast, and then getting ready. We have to take my car into the Volvo dealership at 9 a.m. and get a rental. I also have my hair appointment which I am super excited about, and then a full day of shopping ahead of us! Bella's staying at Grandma & Grandpa's tonight, so we'll be heading over there this afternoon. Should be a fun day, and hopefully the rain will stay away! Yesterday it was just overcast and chilly. I miss the sun, and can't wait for Spring! I am ready to wear flip flops again!!! I miss my flip flops... :)

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Today is such a sad day in Austin. When I first heard about the plane crashing into a building in NW Austin, my 1st thought was of Eric who works near the building, and Bella whose daycare is somewhat close as well. I immediately called Eric and told him what happened. He said they noticed a lot of black smoke in the air and was wondering what had happened. I then called his mom and talked to her to let her know what happened. I found out that it wasn't going to endanger the area Bella was in and felt extremely relieved! For someone to think that the best idea to rid himself of his debt and depression is to crash his plane into a building can only be described as insane. I am thankful that most everyone in the building got out safely and one of the only people that man killed was himself! Austin will recover from this and be better because of it. God Bless Austin, TX!!

Onto a lighter and better subject. Today at work we celebrated the company's 75th anniversary. They had burgers, fries, and cake which we all thoroughly enjoyed! The weather was beautiful and it was nice to sit with my co-workers for lunch once.

This weekend is turning out to be jam packed. We made an appointment to take my car into get a tune up, and just in time because my check engine light came on today. We're taking it 1st thing Saturday morning, and luckily Volvo gives you a rental car while they work on yours. I doubt I'll get an SUV, but as long as Bella's car seat can fit, I will be fine. Afterwards, I have my hair appointment because my hair looks terrible and lifeless! I can't wait to get it fixed and pretty again!! We are taking Bella to Eric's parents for the night so we can celebrate his sister, Sandra & Mark buying their 1st home! We also are taking our 1st monthly trip to Costco. I am hoping our idea to save money will pan out this way. It's going to be a busy, yet fun weekend!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!!

I wanted to update everyone on how Bella has been doing lately. First off, Bella’s constipation problem is no more! The medicine is working perfectly and you can tell she feels so much better. We will keep her on the medicine, because when we take her off of it, she goes right back to constipation and being in pain. I’d much rather her be on this medicine that doesn’t hurt her and be happy and healthy than the alternative.

She started a cough when she got back on Sunday, but it seems to be getting a lot better. She coughs a little when she goes to bed, but nothing serious and she feels fine. We think it’s just allergies.

She is learning her colors! She knows blue, white, green, and yellow when we went over them with her last night. Eric & I are purposely asking what color everything is that she either touches or wants. She’s about ½ way to knowing her basic colors. Dr. B said that was good and that usually they don’t know them all until around 4.

Overall, she is just a bundle of joy for us! She loves to sing in the car to her shows, dance in the living room with us, color, read, etc. She has such a fun & happy personality, she just lights a room when she walks in! We’re so proud of her and can’t wait to see what else she will learn. We love you Belles!

February 16, 2010

Yesterday was an eventful day. It was a holiday, but I still had to work. Yuck! :) The phones were pretty quiet so I got a lot of work knocked out. When I got home, Eric called to let me know he was running 30 minutes late getting off work. He picked up dinner on his way home, while Bella & I played and watched Barney. She was a sweetheart all night and helped me make cinnamon rolls for work. (We're having a Fat Tuesday breakfast feast at work, so everyone made something to bring) After dinner, we all relaxed, got ready for bed, and watched some of the Olympics mixed with A&M basketball.

I also found out the Crawl for Cancer here in Austin is August 28th, so I sent text messages to everyone who was in it the last 2 years to let them know we're making a team. I told everyone first come first to get on the team, and had our entire team filled within 3 minutes of sending the text! Crazy! So we have our team ready to go, now we just have to wait 6 more months for the crawl!

Since tomorrow is the start of Lent, I have decided to give up Cokes for Lent. I have been trying to do this for the past few weeks or so anyway, so knowing it's for Lent I know I will not be sneaking a coke in once in a blue moon! This Friday also starts the "no meat" Fridays during Lent as well. It's not really hard for me to keep to this, except for the fact that the fish restaurant near my work closed down and I have no where else to eat! I see many salads coming back my way soon!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Fat Tuesday!!

Feb. 14, 2010 (Happy LOVE Day!)

February 14, 2010

I usually don't post on the weekends, but this weekend is by far one of the best weekends we've had in quite a while! Friday night, we grabbed a bite to eat and just relaxed at home watching the Olympics Opening Ceremonies. It was unbelievable! I'm 1/2 Canadian, and it was so awesome to learn so much about Canada's culture, people, etc. My favorite parts were the whales that looked like they were swimming in the floor, and when they did the Montreal part where they played fiddles and danced. It was awesome!!
Saturday, Eric had to work in the morning, so I went to take some things back that I bought, and went to Old Navy to start Bella's Spring wardrobe. I got her a cute pair of jeans that can roll up and tied to make them capris when it gets warmer out. I also got her 2 pairs of leggings to wear under her dresses and skirts. So cute! Afterwards, I came home and waited for Eric to get off work. Once he got home, we exchanged Valentine's gifts and he told me where we were going that night to celebrate. He got me a gift card to a ritzy spa to get a pedicure. So sweet and he really surprised me this year! Afterwards, we went and had sushi for lunch and then headed to the Domain to walk around. It was a little chilly and the Horns were about to play basketball, so we headed home. Eric watched the game while I took a quick nap. I haven't taken a nap on a Saturday in years! Nice! We ended the night by going to celebrate Valentine's Day at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. OMG the food was delicious!! I had salmon with asparagus and Eric of course had the New York Strip. Yumm! We finished with wine and cheesecake. It was so good! We were planning on going to a wine bar afterwards, but decided to come home and watch the Olympics and rest. Great night overall!
Today we've gone grocery shopping, out for breakfast, and went to Costco. We have decided to sign up for Costco to try and save some $. We always seem to spend way to much every week on groceries, and thought if we could buy in bulk and just get milk & eggs during the week, then we can save a good chunk of money. I pray it works!! Bella just got back from Pt. Lavaca with Grandma & Grandpa, and is taking a nap. After she wakes up, we'll be taking her to Chuck E Cheese's to celebrate Valentine's with her.
I just can't tell you how happy I am, and how much fun this weekend truly was for us! It was hard to let Bella go for 2 days, but we realized that sometimes we need a weekend by ourselves too. It's a must to keep our marriage as happy & strong as it's always been.
I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!

Here are the pictures from Chuck E Cheese today. Bella had so much fun and it really made Valentine's Day special!
