Woo-Hoo for the Start of Football Season!!

August 31, 2010

Today is getting much easier for me back to work. I got a really good night’s sleep last night and felt refreshed today. Eric had a routine check up at the doctor’s office so he is picking Bella up from school and getting dinner ready! I am a lucky girl!!

Tonight, we are heading to the YMCA to sign the whole family up. Bella will hopefully be starting gymnastics class there on Saturday mornings, and Eric & I both want to get back into working out with machines & everything. They also have 2 indoor pools and 1 outdoor pool which Bella will absolutely love! We are all really excited and hope everything works out well!

This weekend is Labor Day & luckily we have nothing planned! Eric is working Saturday morning, and our beloved LONGHORNS season starts Saturday at 2:30, so we will be watching and cheering them onto another victory! Afterwards, we plan on hitting the pool for some sun & fun! We are going to dinner at the Iguana Grill in Lakeway as a way to end the summer on a high note. All in all, it’s going to be a great weekend!
Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!!

Back to Work & Funny Pictures!

August 30, 2010

Today was my 1st day back to work and honestly, it about did me in.  I am physically exhausted and still have pain.  Not as much as last week, but none the less.  It was really good to get back to work and catch up on everything.  I liked feeling back to normal (somewhat), but missed getting to lie down when my back started up.  I guess the more I work, the easier it will get!

Yesterday, Bella and I had some free time sitting in the recliner, and we did what we always do... we broke out the camera and made silly faces!  Enjoy!

Had to take a pretty one first!
Bella wanted to take a picture of Daddy!
One last nice one before we start getting SiLly!
Promise she's not sick! Ha!
Too funny!  We do this all the time, I usually just don't post them!

I went back to the doctor's today and found out the pain has nothing to do with my kidneys, but with swelling in discs is my vertebrae.  That's why it's causing so much pain when I walk. So, I am on a few meds to help the swelling and pain, and cannot pick anything up or bend over at all.  That means Bella is with her grandparents for another night, which makes me sad.  I miss her terribly and can't wait for her to get home (hopefully tomorrow!).

Friday, I go back for a 3rd time this week to my doctor to see how I am progressing and see if I can be released to go back to work Friday afterwards.  I am hoping so since I know work is piling up on my desk right now.

I know a lot of people were worrying and praying for me all this week, and I just want to say a big THANK YOU! I am hoping the worst is behind me, and everyone's (including my own) prayers were answered!

In Limbo

August 24, 2010

I haven't posted anything lately because I have been pretty sick.  Last Thursday at work I experienced the worst pain I have ever felt.  I knew by the end of the day that I was passing a kidney stone.  I passed two when I was pregnant with Bella, so I knew the pain.  I drove myself home hoping to pass it before having to head to the ER.  I ended up feeling much better by the time I got home. Eric had left work early to meet me, and I just laid on the recliner the rest of the night.  From Friday-Sunday, I was having waves of pain in my lower back and decided to go to the doctor Monday morning.  All weekend I felt useless because the pain would be so bad I couldn't walk and would get exhausted very quickly.

At the doctor's office, he thought I was passing more kidney stones and sent me to get a CT Scan to see.  The nurse called me back yesterday morning saying the scans came back negative for kidney stones, but the doctor still wanted to see me again since the pain was still continuing.  The problem was he is completely booked until Wednesday afternoon!  By yesterday evening, I was in so much pain I couldn't stand anymore.  I decided it was time to go to the ER to get checked out.  Eric & his mom both met me there for support, which was so sweet of them.  I got tons of blood taken, and an ultrasound.  The doctor then came back saying they couldn't find anything wrong & sent me home.  I was so upset because obviously something is wrong since I am in pain, but no one can figure it out.

So now I am just sitting here trying to get better although I have no idea how to.  I am frustrated and feel like I am in limbo.  I have my follow up doctor's appointment tomorrow, but what else can he do that the ER doctor didn't?!

Oh the Joys!

August 17, 2010

After having a wonderful birthday weekend (which we finished off by having dinner at Gloria’s with Eric’s family!), we are now back to the normal hoopla of the week days. It has been well over 100 degrees here for 10 days, and the heat is starting to get to me. I get off work, pick Bella up, get her ready for swim class, cook dinner, and clean the kitchen all by 8 p.m. and am ready to crash by 9! This weekend we are going to a Round Rock Express game for Eric’s work, and I am worried how Bella will endure hours in the hot as lava heat. Of course she will be doused in sunblock & have tons of water to drink, but still this heat is killer and staying in it until the sun goes down isn’t the easiest.
I am so glad we signed Bella up for swim lessons, but am honestly excited for September when we can have our evenings back. We rush so much on Tuesdays & Thursdays to have dinner ready, get her in her swimsuit, get her back out of it when she decides she needs to go potty, and finally end up at the class all within an hour of getting home. Stresses me out every time. The joys of being a working Mommy!

Have a great rest of the week, and think of me when you are sitting in your living room relaxing and reading this, because I definitely won’t be able to do the same! Ha!

Birthday Weekend!

August 15, 2010

Saturday was my 29th birthday and it was such a wonderful day!  Bella was spending the weekend with her grandparents, but I wanted to see her on my birthday, so we went over and spent some time with her.  She was so excited and sang happy birthday to me! Afterwards, a few of my friends came over and we went to Stonewall & Fredericksburg for a day of wine tastings!  Eric was so sweet and was DD the whole day for us.  We all had so much fun & I think this was one of my best birthdays yet!  Thanks to my girls who came out & especially to Eric for driving us everywhere!

Celebrating my 29th Birthday!

August 10, 2010

The last 2 days I have been physically exhausted every day.  Eric has to wake up super early to get to Camp Mabry for his job some mornings.  The last 2 days in a row, we have pretty much woke up at 5 a.m. (45 minutes early!!).  I just lay there until my alarm goes off because once I am awake, there's no going back to sleep.  I am like a walking zombie at work! Ha!  Bella sleeps through everything, so she is chipper & happy when we're getting ready in the morning.  Must be nice!

Tonight we have swim lessons.  Since I am so exhausted, Eric's exhausted, and we don't have time to cook before class starts, we will be picking up some dinner on the way home from swimming.  Luckily, we will have 2 cars since Eric has to meet us there, so he will get the grub & I will get Bella home & bathed.  Then we can all sit down for dinner sometime around 8 p.m. (AKA Bella's bed time!) It'll be bed afterwards for her and probably us too!  Have a great rest of the week!!

Birthday post is coming soon!

I Tried Something New (For Me at Least!)

August 9, 2010

This weekend was very low key and we loved it! I had a first for me… I ate my 1st hamburger in around 15 years! I know it sounds crazy, but I’m not a fan of red meats, and only have a steak once a month. Eric & Bella wanted to try Mighty Fine by our house, and I knew that hamburgers were the only things on the menu, so I decided to give in and try one. I was actually nervous driving there because I didn’t know how my stomach would take it. I also have no idea how a hamburger tastes anymore, so I didn’t know if I’d even like it. Turns out it was pretty good & I felt just fine afterwards! I told Eric & Bella that this doesn’t mean I will start eating hamburgers all the time, but once in a blue moon will be okay for me.
Just a recap on our weekend, we did some shopping and working out Saturday and then went to Mighty Fine for dinner. Bella did great until we were leaving. She proceeded to throw a huge fit most of the drive home. We didn’t want her screaming at home, so we decided to drive for a while until she calmed down. That took approximately 20 minutes and then she was just exhausted! We went home and hung out the rest of the night. Bella was asleep by 8 p.m.!
Sunday we went to church then got groceries & did our weekly Costco run. Afterwards, we did a deep cleaning on the house (it’s almost sparkling now!) before heading to Eric’s parents house. They have been on vacation for the last week and were looking forward to seeing us and especially Bella. She was so excited to see them, she jumped into her Grandma’s arms when we got there. Afterwards, we all went to dinner before heading home to relax the rest of the evening. It was a great low key weekend and I am grateful we got to rest and relax!

Back to Swimming!

August 4, 2010

Last month was the last month for Bella’s school to have swim lessons. We felt it was a little too early to have her stop taking lessons, so we signed her up with Aqua Tots again for the month of August. The upside is that Eric & I can watch her twice a week get to learn swimming and see the joy it brings her. The downside is that it’s exactly 1 hour after Bella & I get home. May not seem bad, but when you have to get dinner cooked, eat, and get her changed and ready to go within 40 minutes, it means that we are constantly rushing. Eric has to meet us there now that he works further away, so he doesn’t get dinner until after we get home. Yesterday was the 1st class and although we were a wee bit stressed and rushing, we got there on time and Bella did great! She has her old teacher she had last spring and was so excited to get him again. She was the only kid that would jump into the pool without help. She did great and we were so excited!
Today, Eric has off from work, so he kept Bella home with him. They haven’t got to spend a lot of time together lately, so she was super excited. They are going to watch “Despicable Me” at the theater this morning, and then going to the pool this afternoon. I am jealous because I am working all day, but really happy they get a day together. Eric is such a great Dad & Bella just adores him!
Have a great Wednesday!

Best Quote I've Heard in Forever!

Thank you Big Mama for the best quote I've heard in years!

Fast as Can Be

August 1, 2010

This weekend just flew by.  We drove up to my Dad's house on Friday after work and got in somewhat late.  I thought we should take a short cut and it ended up taking us an extra 30 minutes since we missed the exit and almost ended up in Ft. Worth!  Bella slept 3/4 of the way, so it worked out well and she was in a good mood when we got there.

Saturday, we drove to Farmer's Branch for my nephew's birthday.  It was great to get to lay out by the pool for a while and then go in and celebrate with pizza and cake!  The Wii game we got him, he already had, but luckily I brought the receipt in case that happened!

After we got back to my Dad's, everyone took a nap while my Dad cooked & I relaxed.  I am not an afternoon napper, so instead I just watched tv & talked to my Dad for a while.  He made my favorite dinner for my birthday and I could not have been happier.  It was delicious!  I told him that I used to love going out to dinner on my birthday's, but now would rather him cook for me!Ha!

Today we woke up extremely early and headed back home.  Eric has to work this afternoon, but once he gets home we're heading to Costco & HEB for some groceries.  Nothing too exciting today, but we will be taking our nightly walk after dinner & after the temps go down!  (It's almost 103 degrees here!! Crazy!)
