Birthday Weekend Ahead!

July 30, 2010

Tonight we are heading to my Dad's house for the weekend.  We'll be celebrating my nephew's birthday tomorrow.  Bella is super excited to be able to go swimming with her cousin.  We've packed her floaties, swimsuit, & sunblock for the ocasion!

Tomorrow evening, my Dad is making me some home cooked Puerto Rican food!  It's been a while, so I can't wait!  Overall, it's going to be a great weekend!  We will be heading home super early Sunday because Eric has to work Sunday afternoon.  It'll give me time to clean the house and do laundry before we head to the pool Sunday afternoon.

Finally Feeling Back to Normal

July 29, 2010

Ahhh I feel like I am finally back to normal. Yesterday, Eric called his mom and asked if they could watch Bella because we were both extremely exhausted and needed a night to ourselves. She happily agreed & we are so thankful!
Once I got home, I had enough time to shower and get ready for a mini date night with my hubby. Eric got home and we decided to go to Chuy’s for some delicious Mexican food. Luckily, it had rained all day, but cleared up just in time for us to go. It was beautiful & only 75 degrees out at 7 p.m.! The wait was forever long, so we just relaxed in some chairs on the patio area and caught up on each other’s work stuff. After dinner, we went home and were able to watch all the shows we haven’t gotten to see lately.
It ended up being a really nice, relaxing evening with just the two of us. I got good sleep (finally!) and feel so much better today. Thank you to Eric’s parents for helping us last night, we appreciate it more than you know!

Hello Exhaustion...

July 28, 2010

In the past week I have not gotten a full night's sleep once. Bella has been extremely clingy and only wanting to sleep with me all night, so I end up getting hit, kicked, punched, and my favorite... Bella's head slamming into my jaw last night. I am a walking zombie. Seriously. I called Eric in tears this morning because even though I fell asleep at 7 p.m. last night (That hasn't happened since I was Bella's age!!) I still ended up not getting much sleep. The whole house was asleep before the sun went down last night, and I still ended up in tears this morning from pure exhaustion!

Tonight Bella is going to Grandma's. Eric called her desperate for me, and Grandma was happy to oblige. After the Lowe's guys come to measure our back door, Eric is taking me to dinner to relax! I am super excited!! Well, at least as excited as a zombie can be. Wish me well tonight, I plan on sleeping the whole time!!!

Exhausted and Yet Excited!

July 27, 2010

This weekend we are heading to Dallas to celebrate my nephew’s 11th birthday! Bella is super excited to surprise him by being there. We didn’t know if Eric would manage to get off, but since he got promoted last week (Go Babe!) he was able to swing it. So we’re packing this week after work and driving up to my Dad’s house Friday evening after we get home. It’s going to be such a fun weekend!
Last night was very low key in the Muñoz house. I haven’t been feeling 100% lately and yesterday work just killed me. I got home, made dinner, and then proceeded to relax the rest of the night. I had the best intentions to work out with Jillian again, but sadly my arms and legs were screaming “NO!!” at me the whole night. I just had to listen!
There was one incident last night with Bella Belle. We tried putting her down to bed at 8:30 which is her normal bedtime. She screamed the whole time, so we decided to let her scream it out while we waited downstairs. Eric had to finish fixing the downstairs toilet, so I just watched tv quietly while listening to her scream our names at the top of her lungs. After about 30 minutes, Eric went back up to her room to calm her down. He said within a minute she was out like a light due to exhaustion! She slept all night. I hated hearing her cry so much, but it seems to be what we need to do to get her to go to bed in her bed at her bedtime. We will see how it goes tonight…

Jillian Michaels is Killing Me!

July 26, 2010

Yesterday I put a workout by Jillian Michaels on the tv and decided to try my luck. After 15 minutes (I'm sad to say I on;y made it 15 minutes!) I was dying in pain! She says not to take longer than a 5 SECOND BREAK!! I did squats, lunges, crunches, arm lifts, leg lifts, etc. I wanted to faint! lol. Today I am so sore, but going back for more! Here I come Jillian!!

This is Bella's last week of Aqua Tots for the summer. You can tell she is sad she won't get to go, but honestly, I don't think she'll get it until next week when she actually stops going. It's going to be a sad day next Monday!

Weekend Wrap Up

July 25, 2010

This weekend was fun but so exhausting! Saturday morning Eric had to work, so Bella & I went shoe shopping! I got a cute pair of wedges by Steve Madden & Bella got a cute pair of tennis shoes that have Tinkerbell on them and light up when she walks! She was so excited. After we got home, we both fell asleep on the recliner until Daddy got home from work. After he changed, we went to Gattiland for lunch. We had some salad & pizza, then let Bella play the game and rides for about an hour. She loved it and when it was time to leave, she didn't even get upset! We were so proud of her. We then headed to Grandma & Grandpa's house. Bella played and was so silly the whole time we were there. She was staying there overnight because we had a charity event with Eric's work. We came home to get ready & then headed downtown for the 1st time in ages. It was so much fun! I got to meet quite a few of his co-workers & their wives/husbands. Also, it was on the 55th floor of the tallest building in Austin called the Austonian. The view was incredible! After we left, we went to Sandra & Mark's to watch Avatar where I ended up falling asleep within the first few minutes! I was so exhausted! We ended up coming home right after it ended.

Sunday, Eric's parents brought Bella home while we were cleaning the house. She was so cheery & excited to see us! We then went grocery shopping and had lunch at Chipotle. Kids eat free on Sundays so it worked out perfectly! Now we're just relaxing and getting ready for another work week. We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!

Scraped & Bruised

July 22, 2010

My sweet baby girl is more like a sweet baby boy lately. She hates wearing dresses, loves playing sports, doesn't like playing with dolls or girly toys, & loves Spiderman & Superman! I got her into a dress today for school by putting her shorts on underneath! When I was growing up I was such a tomboy too, so I see myself a lot in her. Plus her Daddy is pretty much awesome at all sports, so he teaches her soccer, baseball, football, etc. when they play.

On Tuesday, Eric's mom picked Bella up from school since we were all meeting at Rudy's for dinner. When we got there, Mom told us that Bella had a major fall running to get to the front door. Both knees & one arm was completely scraped up. Bella seemed fine with it & wasn't upset by the time we got there. Grandma cleaned her up and she was okay. She had swim lessons yesterday and seemed to be okay getting into the chlorine. I went to pick her up yesterday at school and there was an incident report for me at her cubby. Seems she was jumping up & down when she lost her balance and ended up falling and hitting her cheek on the side of a table. Now on top of the scraped arms & legs, she has a nice long bruise on her right cheek! She looks like she's been through a lot lately! I guess it's all part of being a kid! (Especially a tomboy!)

Family Time

July 21, 2010

This past Sunday we went to Eric's parents' house to visit his Aunt, Uncle, & cousins. We had a lot of fun and the kids all got to play together. Bella was overjoyed being able to play with 2 boys (her 2nd cousins) for a few hours! We all ended up on the sport court watching them play basketball & just getting to spend quality time with everyone.

Last night we all got together one last time while they were here at Rudy's for dinner. Eric's grandfather's brother & wife was also in town from the Valley, so it was great to spend time with everyone! Bella did great and sat with her cousins at a seperate table eating. She was super excited and hated having to leave. It's always a great time with Eric's family!

This is a picture of the whole Muñoz family on Sunday night!

Gosh It Is HOT!

July 18, 2010

This weekend was so hot outside! We decided last week to go to Gruene for the day on Saturday. Little did we know it was market days in Gruene (extremely packed with people!) & the high was close to 100 degrees! Needless to say, we drove down, had lunch at the Gristmill, walked around for maybe an hour, and then headed home! I didn't take too many pictures, but we hope you enjoy the ones we did!

Bella all ready to go to Gruene!

She wasn't upset, just caught her not smiling.
I actually love this picture of her!

Another wonderful weekend!

Family Day Trip is Planned!

July 15, 2010

Eric & I always try to take a family day trip somewhere at least once a month. This way we get out of the house, get to see a new town, and Bella gets plenty of exercise running around! We always end up having a great time. This Saturday we decided to go somewhere I love. I took my Dad & Mary there a few months ago and they just loved it! Eric didn't get to go, so we thought it was a perfect time to go. We'll be heading to Gruene, TX!! We will eat at one of my very favorite restaurants for lunch, The Gristmill. We'll do a little shopping, sightseeing, and end with a nice glass of wine at the local winery! I am so excited because last time Bella did great and had so much fun!

Next month is my 29th birthday, so to celebrate all my friends are going with us to Luckenbach & Fredricksburg to go wine tasting all day! I am super excited & cannot wait to celebrate with all my friends & their hubbies!

We hope everyone has a great weekend! I will post pictures on Sunday!

I Love Netflix!

July 14, 2010

Years ago we had Netflix & rented movies all the time when we couldn't afford to go to the movies in order to buy our 1st house. We loved it, but after we got the house, sold the house 2 years later, & moved to Austin, Netflix went by the wayside. We ended up getting rid of it sometime in 2008 because we never had time to watch them with a baby & full time jobs.

Now they have immediate movies to your Wii, so I decided to check it out. Wow we love it! I watched the Michael Jackson "This is It" immediately when we first got it. Last night, I discovered how easy it is to get the movie to my Mac. I noticed they had tons of shows for Bella's age ready to watch instantly. I put a Barney on and she went crazy! She was so excited! After Barney ended, we told her she could watch one more show before bed, so she watched The Backyardigans. Bella was so happy to see whatever she wanted right away! We are definitely hooked again & how great is it that we only pay $8?! Crazy! And no, no one is paying me for this, I am just a firm believer in letting people know about good deals! Have a great Wednesday!!

July 13, 2010

Today was much better at school! Miss Kaylan said Bella was sweet & nice for her and Miss Mali! Bella told me right when I walked into her classroom that she was a good girl today! I am super happy she is doing better, just hoping it lasts!

Problems at School

Lately for some reason, Bella has been mean and upset at her teachers. She only has 2 teachers, one in the mornings & one in the afternoons, but both are saying she is yelling at them & not listening. When I ask her why she is acting like this, she says she is mad at them but won't tell me why. We don't allow her to act like that to any adults, so every time we hear that she was mean to either of her teachers, she gets her tv shows taken away for the evening. Last night she had to watch The Bachelorette with me until bath time because she yelled at Miss Mali. I don't understand what is causing her to act like this. I have been extremely stressed lately at work & home, so I am thinking maybe she is seeing me stressed and upset & is acting out herself? We've been talking to her multiple times a day to try and understand what is going on & to let her know she can't act like that to any adults, so hopefully it will help. We will see what happens when I pick her up this afternoon...

What a Fun Weekend!

July 11, 2010

This weekend ended up being a lot of fun. It didn't start that way... Dr. B told us she has a viral infection that can't be treated with medication. So, we just have to wait it out and see. I hate that! Bella did have a low grade fever at the doctor's office that only got worse on the drive to Dallas. It rained the whole drive, which actually helped Bella sleep most of the drive down. We got to my Dad's in time for dinner, which never happens. It was also my Dad's birthday, so it made it extra special to be able to have dinner with him. He picked up Isabella's Pizza and it was yummy! We decided to relax and let Bella rest all night.

Saturday, we let Bella stay with Papa while Eric & I visited Carol. Carol has always been like a second mom to me. She was my Mom's best friend since I was 4, and was there for us when my Mom passed away. We always try to stop by at least to say hello, and this time we made sure to. She has knee surgery on Wednesday and was heading home from the hospital when we got there. We got to stay only for a little while, but it was good to know she is doing okay, and catch up. Once we got home, we all got showered & ready for dinner. My sister & Austyn surprised my Dad by coming over with a bottle of champagne to toast him with. We all had a glass, then headed to The Keg for dinner. It was delicious and we had so much fun! Bella did great throughout the entire dinner, & her & Austyn shared a hamburger. He was so sweet to let her eat off his plate since he could have eaten the whole thing himself! Love my Godson! Tanya & I shared a bottle of wine she picked out & then shared dessert at the end. It was such a good time, & we drove home with all of us in the car jamming to 90's music!

Today we drove back to Austin & did a little house work & grocery shopping. It was pretty low key which is just what we needed. All in all, a wonderful weekend. Bella's fever has stayed down today thankfully!

Here are pictures from Saturday night! I didn't get to take too many, but enjoy the ones I did!

Mom's Got to Brag!

July 8, 2010

Yesterday, Bella started in the level 4 class at Aquatots. I thought that meant she was going to be with 4 year olds, but I was wrong. When I took her to school today, the director told me she did great her 1st day & that she is definitely the youngest in her class. She is in there with kids that have been swimming for years! There are even kids that are around 7 or 8 in the class! I couldn't believe it. She did great, listened to her swim teacher, and was able to do most of the things they practiced on! Eric & I are so very proud of her! She is so smart & talented for being only 3 years old!! She is the light of our lives and we are so grateful every day for her. We love you Bella Belle!

Celebration Weekend

July 7, 2010

This weekend we are heading to Dallas to celebrate my Dad's birthday/retirement. Bella is so excited to see her Papa, Aunt Tanya, & Cousin Austyn! We will be leaving on Friday evening to head to my Dad's house. We will be celebrating his birthday & retirement on Saturday with the whole family at The Keg Steakhouse. We can't wait! My sister & I have been planning it for weeks now.

Other than packing all week, it has been a pretty low key week so far. Last night I went to Mel's house for a bit to bring Ally some of Bella's shoes she doesn't fit into anymore. I got to see Ash who is away at college in Cali, so I was excited to catch up with her. It was nice to catch up with Mel over a glass of wine.

Have a great rest of the week!

July 4th Weekend Recap

July 5, 2010

Warning: This is a long post with tons of pictures! (But they are all cute!)

Independence Day was so much fun! We went to church after I made a big breakfast. Afterwards, we came home to find out that Round Rock had rescheduled their July 4th festivities due to inclement weather. (By then it was beautiful & sunny!) So we called Eric's parents and decided to reschedule to Cedar Park. It was wonderful! They had bouncy houses, bingo, live music, food, etc. We all met at the park and bbq'd hamburgers (I brought turkey meat for me! Haha!), hot dogs, chip & queso, and some drinks. The 7 of us had so much fun & I ended up getting a somewhat bad sunburn. At dusk, we got to watch one of the best fireworks shows I have ever seen! Bella loved every minute of the day & once we got into the car to go home, she was asleep before we left the parking lot! A wonderful 4th overall, and a great tradition in the Munoz Family!

Monday, July 5: Bella's 1st time to go to a movie theater! Today has been a Mommy & Bella day since Daddy had to work. We decided to go to see Toy Story 3 at the movie theater. Bella was super excited since it was her 1st time to go to the movies. Mommy just had to take pictures from the time we got into the car until the movie started! I was so proud of her. She watched the whole movie and didn't act up or fuss when it was over. Looks like we might start going more often!

Bella on her way to the movies!

All ready with her popcorn & coke!

We had such a great weekend! The only downfall is that Bella is in a stage where she doesn't want to wear dresses. I found the cutest blue & white striped dress at the Gap, and she hated it. She wanted the stars & stripes t-shirt only, so that's what we ended up with! I can't wait for this phase to be over. Ha!

Happy July 4th!

July 2, 2010

Eventhough we are getting poured on from Hurrican Alex all week and this coming weekend, we are still planning for a fun 4th! We will be spending it with all of Eric's family, hopefully at Old Settler's Park bbqing hamburgers & hot dogs, having a nice drink or two, and watching beautiful fireworks! We hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July!
