Should old acquaintance be forgot...

December 28, 2011

I'm not sure if this has gone national or not, but it definitely has locally.
There is a kid from a small town outside of Austin who made an inspiring video one week before he died.  Ben Breedlove had a heart condition known as HCM.  He was diagnosed when he was 4 and since has had times where it has almost taken his life.  The videos (2 parter) is the video he made on December 18, 2011.  Ben passed away on Christmas morning.  Although, I didn't know him or his family, the video inspires me & the way he describes Heaven is incredible.

Wordful Wednesday

I used to always post a cute picture for Wordless Wednesday, the only problem being that I love to talk, so wordless really isn't part of my vocabulary.  I decided today since I have so many freakin cute pictures of my baby girl from this past weekend, I'll post my favorite here but with words... lots of words!!

Isn't she absolutely beautiful?! Okay so here's a little background on this pic.  We surprised her with tickets to see Phineas & Ferb Live last Friday. We didn't tell her what her surprise was until we got into the venue & she started seeing pictures everywhere of Phineas & Ferb.  She was uber excited! I had asked her to bring Perry with her before hand but didn't say why.  When she figured out what we were seeing, I brought out her little Phineas & Ferb dolls I had packed into my purse!

This picture is right when we sat down in our seats.  The happiness on my baby girl's face is utterly precious to me & something I'll never forget! We had a great time and will definitely plan on more shows in the future!

Happy Wordful Wednesday!!

Christmas Rundown

December 26, 2011

This Christmas has to be one of the best we've ever had! (minus my daughter falling back off the couch & hitting her head, then hitting it again the next day on a wall!)

Other than that, it was amazing! Here's some pictures over the past month of my family and I celebrating!

Bella's Christmas recital at her school was so adorable! They all dressed like snowmen & sang songs in Spanish & English.  This is her class, most of these kids have been together for over 2 years. It'll be so sad when they graduate in May and go to their own elementary school.

We surprised Bella last Friday with her 1st Christmas gift... tickets to see Phineas & Ferb Live in concert! It's her absolute favorite show & up until we got into the stadium she had no idea who she was going to see!

The only thing she asked for while there was cotton candy with the Phineas hat attached.  I was shocked that it cost $10, but since Momma was a smarty and packed all her Phineas characters in my purse, she didn't feel the need to ask for anything else! Score! $10 out the door?! SOLD!

Daddy & Bella with all her stuffed animals waiting for the show to start... how adorable is my family?!

Christmas morning at Papa's house.  She got wayyy too many gifts from family and especially Santa! Our entire living room is covered in toys right now!

My awesome family opening gifts! We got my sister & our Dad suitcases they were wanting.  They were both excited beyond belief! I got some great clothes & $$ for our cruise!

What did Bella want to play with 1st?! The boxes for the suitcases of course! How funny is my little munchkin?!

Mommy & Bella on Christmas Eve before church.  It's a Christmas I'll never forget! God is Great!!

Merry Christmas!

December 24, 2011

I wish we could send a card out to all my bloggy friends, but since that's kinda impossible, I thought I'd send it here.
We hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas & a very happy New Year's!

Here's a cute Christmas Quiz from Diligent Joy!
1. Egg nog or hot chocolate? Definitely Egg Nog.  It's kind of a Puerto Rican tradition to have Coquito on Christmas. (Egg Nog & Rum!)
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Always wraps them & puts a cute to/from on them!
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? White lights... our whole street does white lights & it looks beautiful!
4. Do you hang mistletoe? Never done mistletoe before... maybe one year.
5. When do you put your decorations up? The Friday after Thanksgiving.  It's become a tradition in our house.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Pernil, Rice & Beans, and pasteles.  We've always had a Puerto Rican Christmas dinner and I can't imagine it any other way!
7. Favorite holiday memory as a child? Sleeping near the Christmas tree hoping I can catch a glimpse of Santa!
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? Funny thing, my parents never said he wasn't, I just kinda started guessing around 10, but then he'd give a gift to my parents and throw me off for another year!
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Both! We celebrate with my husband's family on Christmas Eve and open most of our gifts then, but once we get to my Dad's on Christmas Day we open the rest.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? It's in gold & pink, but every year we add a homemade trinket Bella made to the tree.
11. Snow! Love it or dread it? I've actually never seen real snow, so can't say I dread it.  I've lived in Texas all my life and the little bit we get here I love!
12. Can you ice skate? Yes but not very well...
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? I never had a favorite gift, just was so excited with whatever I got.
14. What’s the most important thing about the holidays for you? Spending time with family and friends and mainly getting to see Bella's eyes light up when she runs down the stairs Christmas morning... priceless!
15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? I am not a huge dessert girl, but I do like Rum Balls my mom used to make at Christmas.  I'm starting the tradition back this year and trying to make them for our families!
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Putting up our Christmas tree together as a family while listening to Christmas music for the 1st time that year.
17. What tops your tree? A beautiful white & gold angel.
18. Which do you prefer: giving or receiving? Giving- definitely giving (especially now that I have Bella).
19. Candy canes: yuck or yummy? Not a fan honestly
20. Favorite Christmas show? Christmas Vacation, I love the Griswalds!
21. Saddest Christmas song? I'm not sure the name of it but the one about the red Christmas shoes a boy wants to get his mom... can't even listen to it.
22. What is your favorite Christmas song? Silver Bells love that song!!
Merry Christmas from My Munoz Family!

Friday Loves

December 23, 2011

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!  This will be my last Friday Loves of 2011 (I can hear you crying, but I'll only be gone for a week!)
This week I want to post about my favorite eye shadows.  I actually stopped wearing shadow over the summer and just stuck to eyeliner & mascara.  Since the holidays are upon us & there's nothing that I like better than a little sparkle & shine for the holidays, eye shadow is a must.  Here's my Friday Faves!
I LOVE the colors in palette! So sparkly & beautiful! I love how you can mix and match them for the different outfits you'll be wearing this holiday season! (and it's only $28!)
I love this Urban Decay eyeshadow in Midnight Cowboy Rides Again.  Super glittery without looking like you're 19 trying to get into the 21+ clubs with a fake id & tons of makeup... but I wouldn't know anything about that...
I love Bobbi Brown & her shimmer brick is ah-maze-balls!  I am in love with every.single.color on this brick!!
I love this eyeshadow in Glisten.  It lasts all day & is safe for contact lense wearers. And perfect for a lovely evening out with the hubs!
What's your favorite eyeshadows?!

Oransi Air Purifier Review & Giveaway!

December 19, 2011

My family & I love to make salads and have fresh fruits and veggies in the fridge, the only downfall is the food spoiling too fast & my fridge smelling like a garbage truck!  Annoys me every time.  When the wonderful people at Oransi contacted me & asked me to do a review and giveaway, I immediately said yes!!
This little machine does so much, it amazes me!  The Oransi Fridge Air Purifier is an ionic purifier that is absolutely silent, yet will keep your fridge smelling wonderful & help your fruits and veggies last longer.  It's amazing!  I put the Oransi in my fridge and it immediately went to work.  It ran for 30 minutes and then sets itself to run for 5 minutes every hour.  The next morning I was delighted to say that it works just as described! It removed bacteria and odors from your fridge without you having to do anything! The best part for me was it's size.  My fridge tends to fill up quickly with food & drinks, and it was small enough to stick it on my shelf with plenty of extra room for food.
You can go to the Oransi website to order yours for only $29!!
One of my wonderful readers gets to receive one for FREE!! Enter in the rafflecopter form below & good luck!!

This week is going to be busy busy with Christmas things going on, but I promise to get back on the bloggy horse & get to posting again! I hope everyone has a magical Christmas week!

Friday Loves

December 16, 2011

I might be on a bloggy break this week, but I couldn't miss posting my Friday Loves! This week is all about hair.  I am so obsessed looking at different hairstyles for New Years and deciding which ones would be perfect for our party & thought, why not show you my loves & you can help me decide?!  So, here we go!

I am a religous follower of The Small Things Blog. I adore Kate's hair & wish mine could be as cute all the time! Last week my Chi went out on me & I was devastated.  I started researching what flat irons were the best & immediately went to her blog for advice.  Under her FAQ's she recommends the GHD flat iron and that's exactly what I bought! Let me tell you... I am in love!! It heats up in less than 30 seconds & automatically turns itself off after 30 minutes of no use.  It's definitely one of the more expensive flat irons, but definitely worth the money!

I have pretty long hair, but love the idea of a half updo.  It's cute & seems relatively easy, which is always a huge plus for me!

This is perfection for me.  A cute, messy bun that can be made to look fabulous for New Year's.
Too much for a New Year's Eve look?!
What's your favorite hairstyles for New Year's?

Bloggy Break

December 13, 2011

There's lots going on in our house this week, especially Bella & me being sick & some family matters, so I will be taking a bloggy break until next week.  I hope everyone has a great week!
Thanks for understanding!
Here's a picture of the gingerbread house we made last night! It's leaning a little to the right & has the icing coming out everywhere, but we loved the finished product!  Bella even decorated it herself!

Friday Loves

December 9, 2011

This week is more about things I love but will never buy myself.  It's finally chilly here in Austin, and so boots & sweaters are on my mind!  Can anyone else believe Christmas is 2 weeks away?! Geez, gotta start wrapping gifts, and get something under our fabulous tree! It's all beautiful until you see it empty down below!
Now I have a ton of cute boots, but something about these scream cute & comfy to me.  They also scream to get on a horse people, but I still hold a place in my heart for them.
This is so freakin adorable! And looks so cozy.  I'm finally starting to get into sweaters that fall off the shoulder, but it took me a long time to not think of the 80's every time a girl wore a top like this.  Ahhh the 80's...
Ahhh Louis Vuitton Neverfull... you've been on my wishlist for many many years now.  I adore this bag so much & stare at it in the windows when I walk by the store.  One day sir... one day...

Big Happenings!

December 7, 2011

Bella has her 1st announcement ever to make on the blog...

She's got her very 1st loose tooth!

So here's the rundown:
We went to the dentist last week for her 6 month check up & they got the first set of X-rays for her.  You could clearly see the bottom front 2 teeth were getting close to coming out, which surprised Eric & I! (I thought you loose your 1st tooth around 6? Bella's not even 5 yet!)

Yesterday after school, Bella came up to me and said her teeth were hurting.  She showed me her bottom tooth and I was actually able to wiggle it! I was so surprised & she started jumping around saying she can't wait for the Tooth Fairy to come! So needless to say, it's a HUGE deal in our house!

So my question to you...
How old were your children when they lost their 1st teeth?

DIY No Sew Infinity Scarf

December 6, 2011

I was on Pinterest (which I am obsessed with!) and saw this DIY Infinity Scarf from My World - Made By Hand, and realized this is actually a DIY I can make on my own! Woo-Hoo! So here's the step by step with pictures so you can make your own t-shirt infinity scarf...

1. Get an old shirt you love (but can't fit into!)  and start by cutting the bottom of the shirt just above the seam.

2. Cut across just underneath the arms. I am not the best cutter btw & so it was a little more messy that I thought it would be, but honestly it didn't matter.

 3. This is where it gets fun! Get your kiddo to help stretch the shirt out as much as possible... seriously people STRETCH THE SHIRT!

4. And you're done! A cute comfy new scarf that cost me...

We both fell in love with them (we made 2) and another idea...

We tried twisting them together to get a whole different look & I must say, I love it! Grey & yellow are awesome together!

Yo Gabba Gabba! Live!

December 5, 2011

On Sunday, Eric, Bella, & I got the pleasure of seeing Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! presented by Kia Motors! Let me tell you it was AWESOME!! My daughter has always loved Yo Gabba Gabba, and honestly, I never really understood it, but after the show I even fell in love! It was a dance party to the fullest!

Too Much Fun!!

Dj Lance came out and started the party off, and Bella was overly excited to see him in "real life"! She kept saying, I can't believe I get to see them all in real life!!

DJ Lance on the big screen!

The whole gang was there... Muno, Foofa, Toodee, Brobee, & Plex all joined in to have a dance party.  It was a great experience through the whole show! The smiles on all of the kiddos' faces in the audience said it all... it's definitely worth it to take your children to! They had guests & the music was even fun for the adults! (My hubby was actually surprised when it was over how much fun he had!)

The Whole Yo Gabba Gabba group on stage!

Bella's name on the big screen during intermission!

Here's the best part...

Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! is STILL TOURING!!! Go here for all the great cities Yo Gabba Gabba is going to & get your tickets today!! Great idea for a Christmas present for your children, you won't be disappointed!

Disclaimer: I was given tickets to the show in order to review.  I was in no way compensated for a positive or favorable review, we all just really loved the show!
