Eric & I in Cozumel 2009
This was us at Senior Frogs in Cozumel.  We had spent the entire day on the beach and before heading back to our cruise, decided to make a pit stop & have a yard of beer.  So much fun & we had the best time!

Royal Wedding Talk

April 28, 2011

I can't say I am super excited for the upcoming nuptials of Kate & Prince William, but I am glad that I get to watch them with all my girls tomorrow night.  Melissa is DVRing the entire thing so we can all sit down and watch what a British $6+ million dollar wedding looks like.  Cause Heaven knows none of us will ever get close to that in real life!

We've started a monthly girl's night out at each other's houses.  We're going to watch a chick flick, eat totally badly, & drink wine all while quoting our favorite lines from the movie & generally talking about everything under the sun.  It's going to be fabulous!

I would like to send prayers out to everyone affected by the horrible tornadoes yesterday.  Everyone in the South, especially in Alabama & Mississippi are in my thoughts and prayers!

Hoo Are You?

April 26, 2011

1. Do you plant a garden or flowers, or neither?
I used to garden a lot before I had a kid, but am trying to get back into it for the sake of my front yard

2. Does it bother you to have your blinds or curtains
open after dark so people can see in your house?
Yes, our house is on one of the main streets in our neighborhood so it always bothers me if someone can see in.

3. Do you like to go camping?
Nope! I'd much rather stay at a nice hotel with AC & a shower.  E's been trying to get me to go camping this summer, so we'll see if I end up giving in!

4. Do you have a laptop or a desk top computer?
I have a laptop.  I live on my Mac!

5. What time during the day do you have your most energy?
Actually in the morning!  I am such a morning person, and that's when I get the most done.

Cardi Wrap Review

April 25, 2011

I was given the opportunity to try Cardiwrap.  I love cardigans and wear them constantly at work, so I thought this would be perfect for me!  When it came in, there was a booklet letting me know the 54 ways to use the Cardiwrap!  I was so excited!

It can be used not only as a cardigan, but a shawl, scarf, shirt, dress, etc.  The list goes on and on!  They even have different accessories that come with it, to make the styles even more you!  Cardi Wrap will enhance any figure by smoothing out those pesky areas you hate, slims your hips, & accentuates your bust!

My thoughts after trying it out:  I really like it!  I got it in grey and the color goes with a lot of my wardrobe.  Also the fabric was soft and comfy. I was able to change the look effortlessly which to me means less time spent figuring out what to wear and more time with the fam!
Definitely, something I'd wear especially for work & dates with the hubby!

To order your Cardiwrap, go to BuyCardiWrap.com.  You can choose from 7 colors that all are beautiful!

Disclosure: I was given the opportunity to review Cardi Wrap from Kailani, and given one to try in order to review.  I was not compensated in any way to write a positive or favorable review.  All opinions expressed are that of My Munoz Family.

Easter Weekend

April 24, 2011

This weekend was fab-u-lous!  We got to see my entire family Saturday night to celebrate my sister & my sister in law's birthdays!  We had some wine, my Daddy cooked the best brisket EVER, and we all got to sit in the front yard while the kiddos ran around and just relaxed.  Wonderful night!

Aunt Kristin & Aunt Tanya blowing out their birthday candles

Easter Sunday we met Tanya & Austyn at her church. The weather Saturday night was terrible after midnight, and the church had no electricity this morning!  They ended up having a wonderful service by their lake.  It was nice and the weather held out!  After church, we all went to breakfast before we headed back to Austin.

In her Easter dress

Once we got back to Austin, we unpacked quickly, then headed to Eric's parents' house to celebrate with them.  We had some delicious Rudy's BBQ, along with Mom's homemade potato salad.  After dinner, we hid some cascarones (real eggs that are dried out and filled with confetti!)  It's tradition with his family since Bella was born to hide them, have her Easter Egg Hunt with them, then we smash them on each other and have tons of fun!! Bella just LOVED it!  Overall, such a wonderful Easter weekend & I am truly thankful for such wonderful families!

Getting Daddy!

2008 - Sandra's Bachelorette Party in S. Padre Island
From left to right: Stephanie, Sonia, Jessika, Sandra, Me, Vicky, & Cheryl
My SIL Sandra had her bachelorette party in South Padre Island in 2008, a few weeks before she got married.
We actually surprised her about where we were having it by having her go on a treasure hunt all around Austin, then ending up at one of her favorite restaurants with a huge banner saying we were going to Padre!  It was so fun & too cute!
The girls in the picture are now some of my best friends, and it was because of this weekend that we became so close.  We had so much fun this weekend and it's something I'll never forget!

Dreamworks Studio - The Help

April 21, 2011

Based on one of the most talked about books in years and a #1 New York Times best-selling phenomenon,  “The Help” stars Emma Stone (“Easy A”) as Skeeter, Academy Award®–nominated Viola Davis (“Doubt”) as Aibileen and Octavia Spencer as Minny—three very different, extraordinary women in Mississippi during the 1960s,  who build an unlikely friendship around a secret writing project that breaks societal rules and puts them all at risk. From their improbable alliance a remarkable sisterhood emerges, instilling all of them with the courage to transcend the lines that define them, and the realization that sometimes those lines are made to be crossed—even if it means bringing everyone in town face-to-face with the changing times.

Based on one of the most talked about books in years and a #1 New York Times best-selling phenomenon, “The Help” is a provocative and inspiring look at what happens when a southern town’s unspoken code of rules and behavior is shattered by three courageous women who strike up an unlikely friendship.

The Help in Theaters Aug. 12th
I am so excited for this movie to come out.  It looks like a movie that really lets you see into the lives of these women back in the 60's.  I honestly cannot wait to see it!

"The Help" will be in theaters on August 12, 2011, but "The Help" trailer is available now so check it out!

Not So Wordless Wednesday - Birthday Edition

April 20, 2011

My Sister & Me @ the Salt Lick
Today is my sister's birthday!  My sister is also my best friend, and someone I have always been able to count on.  We usually talk on the phone almost daily & can literally talk for well over an hour each time.  She's such a great mom, daughter, & sister, and I don't know where our family would be without her.
Tanya, I love you so much & hope you have a wonderful birthday!! Can't wait to celebrate with you on Saturday! Love you!

I'm a Little Heated

April 19, 2011

So it’s mid-April and usually the highs in Central Texas are around the mid -70’s to mid-80’s. It’s Spring, the weather is beautiful, the bluebonnets are out, etc. Not this year. Today’s high is 99 degrees!! What happened to Spring?! It’s like March was a little Springy, but pretty much we went from what we like to call Winter here, straight to Summer. What’s the temps going to be here in June, July, & August?! We usually get to the high 90’s around mid to late June, but not this year. We have so much planned this summer, & I am so worried about actually getting to do them because of the weather. We haven’t really had a drop of rain since early March, and wildfires are happening everywhere in Texas right now. One broke out in South Austin over the weekend and burnt down at least 4 homes in the area. Families are just now able to go back to their homes to see if they have a home left, and if so, how bad the damage is. I have been praying for them every day as well as the people in the Possum Kingdom Lake area.

On a better note, I am feeling so much better today, thank goodness! I’ve probably slept around 24 hours in the last 2 days to get better & it seemed to work! Bella stayed at Grandma’s last night (they are awesome grandparents I tell you!), so we’re really ready to see her tonight. She has picture day at school tomorrow, and we have her dress and sandals all ready to go! We always end up buying the pictures she takes every Spring & Fall at school. I have one 8X10 frame in our entry way that I put the newest school picture in every time. It’s crazy how much she has changed in such a short time.

Tomorrow is my sister’s birthday, so my post will be in tribute to her. Stay tuned!

Weekend Wrap

April 18, 2011

I am fighting a bad cold since last Friday, but managed to make it out all weekend and have some wonderful family time.

Friday morning, Bella had a Spring shoebox parade at her daycare, and Daddy was able to make it out to see her and take pictures & video!

Bella & her ladybug shoebox

Friday night, we watched tv and Bella decided to be silly and dance around the living room in her pj's.  I was laughing the whole time but managed to get a picture or two in!

My crazy girl!
After she finished dancing, she decided she wanted to take silly pictures with Momma, so we did!

One of the many we took Friday night!
Saturday, Bella had her swim lessons & loved it (shocking I know!)  She did great and the funny thing is there are only 3 kids in the class... Bella, Stella, & Ava! Too cute!

Right before going into swim class

After swimming, we got all clean just in time for Daddy to come home. He had heard about hero's day at Camp Mabry and asked if we wanted to go.  It sounded like a lot of fun so we headed over.  They had tons of helicopters & Bella even got to sit in the cockpit of a Blackhawk!  My dad flew helicopters in the National Guard for 30 years before retiring when I was young, so this was a chance for Bella to see what Papa used to fly!

Sunday I was feeling pretty bad, so we went to church then came home for a long nap.  We had planned on planting flowers in the front yard, but decided to push that back for a few weeks to let me rest.

This weekend we are heading home to visit my family for Easter & for my sister's birthday!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Weekend Wrap Up

April 11, 2011

This weekend was really so much fun & yet still relaxing!  Saturday morning I went to get my hair all prettied up again, then went to Bella's 1st swim class of the season.  She loved it & did wonderful!  There are only 3 other girls in her class, so she got tons of one on one time with Mr. Isaac her new teacher.

After swim class, she went to Grandma & Grandpa's, so we came home, cleaned the house, and had some friends over for a Wii Party!  It was so great to see everyone & catch up again!  We all had a lot of fun!!

The Girls!
Sonia, Vicky, Stephanie, Amanda, Sandra, Jessika, & me

Sandra & Mark playing Wii jousting!

Eric doing the Michael Jackson Experience!

Sunday we went back to Grandma & Grandpa's and spent the afternoon watching the Masters and cheering on Tiger.  We were so hoping he would win, but it ended up being a great finale.  Sunday night we came home, bbq'd steaks & relaxed to finish the weekend off.  Tons of fun & yet still rested and ready to take on the week!
