Show Us Your Life - Our Church

April 1, 2011

Gateway Church - Austin, TX

Growing up, we always went to church every Sunday.  I grew up in a Catholic Church, but once we had Bella we decided to try something different.  She wasn't liking the Catholic Sunday school, so we decided to look around.  We tried MANY churches before we tried Gateway.

Gateway Church is our home.  We try to go every other weekend. (Eric works on Sundays sometimes)  They're motto is "Come as you are"

You don’t have to dress up. You don’t have to be any particular age. We don’t care who you voted for in the last election. And please don’t feel the need to pretend about anything. Gateway Community Church is a place where God meets people who are far from perfect. That means anyone is welcome no matter where they are on their spiritual journey.

Bella LOVES their Sunday school class and actually asks if she can go every weekend!  The pastors are wonderful & the services always touch my heart.  I leave feeling spiritually renewed, and ready to take on the coming week.

It's somewhere we never worry about what to wear, who's going to be there, or what people are going to think of us.  It's definitely a big church, but has a very small church feel.  We are blessed to have found a church we can call home!

  3. I love how you describe your church about not having to worry about what other people think or judgements, come as you are! My church is relaxed as well and I think it encourages many to attend because it is so easy to go. Thank you for sharing!

    Love your blog!
Finding the right church is so important. I've found one that is so rural and fun. Beware of "Don't get me started Pastor Nick". Be it God or gardening or shopping.
