Weekend Wrap Up

February 27, 2011

OMG this weekend was so wonderful!!  Friday night was great and low key.  We got Rudy's for dinner, Eric surprised Bella with "Megamind" DVD, and we had our movie night.

Saturday I got my hair done and chopped off (just a little!) and it looks great!  I love going lighter for the Spring!  We then ran some errands and took Bella to Grandma's.  We met up with Sandra & Mark for dinner and drinks.  We ended up on a patio on the Georgetown Square.  It was fabulous!  We were on the 2nd floor and it overlooked the entire square.

Cheers!!
Today we got Bella, then went grocery shopping.  We took Bella to Phoenix's birthday party @ Chuck E Cheese (which was so much fun, but extremely packed!).  We're now relaxing with a little vino and about to watch the Oscars!! I can't wait!  I'll be posting my Oscar Fashion Blog tomorrow evening!  Happy Sunday!!

Putting Myself First

Thanks to Crystal Light for sponsoring this post. To learn more about how Crystal Light can flavor your day with 30 refreshing flavors, visit http://www.facebook.com/crystallight.

If you read my blog, you know I am a wife, mother of a beautiful 4 year old daughter, and I also work full time outside the home.  As much as I would LOVE to be a SAHM, I thoroughly enjoy working and helping bring part of our family income in.  The only downfall that comes along with my happiness and craziness, is making time for myself.  I am a firm believer in taking a little time out for myself everyday to relax, unwind, and enjoy my life.  I also use that time to reflect on the day or week I've had, and to think of the newest things I heard Bella learn and say.  It makes me laugh out loud to hear the way she talks and dances around our house!

I always put my family first no matter what, but that being said, I feel the need to also put myself first when possible.  Usually, Eric puts Bella to bed.  He works so much & that time ends up being "their time", which allows me at least 30-45 minutes of ME TIME!  I will either take a long bath, get onto the computer (and Blog!!), or catch up on my favorite shows.  I am a HUGE Grey's Anatomy, Vampire Diaries (yes I know this is for teens, but it's my FAVORITE!), and Ghost Adventures fan, so sometimes I catch up on them and just unwind from the day. My other favorite thing to do is read.  It truly relaxes me and lets my mind drift away from everything.

I truly feel that if you are a wife and (or) Momma, that you deserve a little "me" time every day.  Even though it sounds tough, just find 30 minutes to sit at your favorite chair & watch your favorite show, type a blog post about your day, or open a good book, and just relax. It really will make your life better, and it personally helps me be a better Momma & Wife.

We can't always have this, but time by ourselves can be just as good!

A few tips I have to help is to:

1) Tell your husband you need to take a break.  If you're a single Momma, take this time once your kids go to bed.

2) Grab a book or download a book you've been wanting to read to your Kindle, IPad or IPhone.  They literally take less than a minute to download and then are right at your fingertips.

3) If you're a movie or TV person like me, pick your favorite show and just get on the couch or recliner and watch it!

4) Remember that even though you are a Momma & Wife, you are still a women!  You need your time to yourself!  It really will make your life so much better.

5) Enjoy your "me" time!

If you have any tips or ideas for relaxing, please leave a comment!  I am always excited to hear other people's ideas to help me be a better wife and mom!

Remember, visit http://www.facebook.com/crystallight to learn more about how Crystal Light can flavor your day with 30 refreshing flavors. I was selected and paid for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.

Weekend Wrap Up

February 21, 2011

So Friday night we had family movie night and Bella decided to watch the Peanuts shows.  It was a lot of fun because Eric & I remember watching them when we were her age.

Saturday we ran way too many errands, never found any bedding we liked, and ended up eating dinner at Garcia's Cafe.  We had seen it before, but never actually ventured to try it until that night!  It was pretty good and the margaritas we delicious!  Afterwards, we came home and relaxed by catching up on our shows.

Sunday was supposed to be cleaning day, but that didn't end up happening!  We went to church & Bella got to go to the big kid's class since she is now 4.  She just loved it!  Afterwards, we got groceries and were keeping our eyes peeled on Eric's phone watching his sister & brother-in-law run the Austin Marathon!  26.2 miles seems a little crazy to me, but they had been training for it for almost a year.  We decided to meet his parents downtown and watch them race a little bit.  We ended up spending 4 hours total driving all over downtown Austin trying to find them and see them race a bit.  We never actually saw them racing, but ended up meeting them at the finish line.  We're so proud of them though and excited they both finished hand in hand crossing the finish line together!

Afterwards. we were so exhausted, we ended up coming home and falling asleep!  Overall it was a nice weekend, luckily another great low key one!

Cha-Cha-Cha-Changes!

February 18, 2011

Today is officially my last day at my job, and Monday I start my new job!  It's with the same company, thank goodness!  It's in a totally different location and the best hours!  I will be getting off work at 3:30 p.m. everyday, which mean I'll actually have time to do things after work!  I've been looking at joining a gym close to Bella's school so I can go take a Zumba or Body Pump class, then get her right after and head home.  We'll see if that ends up working out or not.  Ha!

Tonight is our weekly "Family Movie Night" and undoubtedly, we will end up watching Toy Story 2 for the 3rd week in a row, even though it now skips whole scenes since she's about killed the poor DVD!

This weekend we are running errands like a mad family.  We'll be getting a king sized bed next month and need to find a new sheet and comforter set. This is no easy task seeing as how I am obsessed with linens and the way our bed looks!  We'll be heading all over Austin in search of the perfect linens!

Sunday we are heading to church, then coming home and doing a huge cleaning on our house.  It's really not, but I keep feeling like it's filthy, so we are taking all day to clean the entire house up and make it sparkle!

Have a great weekend ya'll!

Exuviance Rejuvenating Masque Review

I love any type of beauty treatments, especially for my face and skin.  That's why I was so excited to do a review for Exuviance Rejuvenating Masque.  It contains Alpha and Polyhydroxy Acids offer anti-aging benefits to decrease lines and wrinkles and plump the skin in a powerful peel off.

It was also name Instyle's Best Beauty Buy

Here's some of the things this masque will do for your skin:
Mandelic Acid and Gluconolactone help reduce the look of wrinkles

Stimulates cell renewal

Vitamins A and E and a Pro Vitamin B Complex moisturize

Antioxidant Pro-Vitamin C helps to defend against free radicals

Here's my thoughts after using it a few nights ago:  When I 1st put it on, I had just washed my face and neck, so it stung a little while I put it on.  Nothing harsh, but because my pores were open, it did have a stinging sensation.  After putting it on, I waited 15 minutes to peel it off.  Once I went back to peel it off, it was pretty easy to come back off.  I was able to peel most of it off, and the part around my hair line and neck that were harder to get off, rinsed off easily with a little warm water.

Right after it wasoff, my face felt thoroughly cleansed and looked smoother.  The next morning I looked in the mirror and my skin actually looked much smoother.  I was so excited!  My makeup even looked better on!  I am a definite believer in Exuviance Rejuvenating Masque!! I plan on using it twice a week to help my pores look better and keep my skin looking brighter and smoother.

Book Review & Giveaway!

February 16, 2011

I love to read books to Bella & she LOVES to hear me read them and see the pictures.  It's become a nightly tradition in our house to read one story or book a night before bed.  So, when I was asked to do a review on a children's book called Mr. Bo Finds a New Home & Name by Timothy Battle,  I was ecstatic!  First thing I did was to look at the illustrations throughout the book.  I know Bella only likes books with "pretty pictures" and knew she would adore this book, because they are wonderful!

Let me sum the book up as best I can... It's about a cat named Linus that was in a shelter waiting to be adopted.  He sees a man come in that he knows will be his new owner, so he does everything he can to get the man's attention. Linus wants to find his own home & change his name.

It's such a great book about adoption & loving someone or something so much.  It seems like it would be a great book for parents of foster/adopted children to read to them and show that they are loved by their parents, no matter what. It also shows kids that we love and take care of our pets like they are children.  Bella knows to be nice to our puppies, but I think now she gets that they are also family, not just pets.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book to Bella & she loved to listen to it and look at the pictures.  It has now become a staple in our nightly book section of her bedroom!

Valentine's Day Wrap Up

I completely forgot to post about our Valentine's Day!  (I've been working on reviews & giveaways coming soon!!)  Here's a wrap up of our wonderful day!

The Friday before Valentine's Day I came home and saw a huge box outside our front door.  It had my name on it, so I went to open it, and when I did there was a gift box from Bloomingdale's (LOVE that Store!!) and a card.  I knew it had to be part of my Valentine's Day gift, so I left it unopened until Eric got home from work.  When he saw it he asked why I didn't open it, and we laughed because I thought I was supposed to wait for Valentine's Day!

The beautiful box ended up being a being a new georgeous Tory Burch Tote! It's all black and adorable!  I love it!!

LOVE IT!

Monday, Eric got a card in the mail from Bella & I, it had pictures of us & he just adored it.  Bella kept going around saying "Happy Valentine's Day!!" to us & giving us kisses as her Valentine gift.  It was perfect!  We both had to work, and right after lunch, he walked into my office with a dozen red roses!  I was so shocked and started to tear up.  He rarely surprises me, and this was over the top awesome!

They are Beautiful!
After work Monday night, I went home and made a big dinner for the 3 of us.  We honestly just relaxed, watched tv, and had a nice quiet evening at home.  It was a wonderful Valentine's Day & one I'll never forget!

Weekend Wrap Up

February 14, 2011

This weekend was great!  We had a little bit of traveling, but it was well worth it!  Friday, we hit the road for Dallas around 3 p.m.  We never once hit traffic even in Big D thanks to our GPS!  We got to Dad's and he had already made one of my favorite dishes for dinner!  Chick and Rice!  It was delicious.  We ended up eating and watching Ghost Adventures till we all fell asleep.

Saturday was just beautiful outside, so we headed to the market for seafood.  Afterwards, we ran some errands, then came back home to relax and let Bella take a nap.  My sister and nephew came over and we all had homemade Paella for dinner that my Dad once again cooked!  It was the best Paella I have ever had!  We ended up eating too much food, listening to music, talking about old times, all over some nice glasses of wine.

Sunday we packed up to head home, and decided to go to breakfast since my Dad had been cooking so much all weekend!  We then headed back and Bella & Mama went grocery shopping while Eric washed and cleaned our car.  It seriously looks brand new!  Love it when that happens! Ha!

We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!! Valentine's post to come with pictures!

Wishing Everyone...

A Happy Valentine's Day!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Love,

My Muñoz Family

On the Road Again

February 11, 2011

After work today, we are heading to Dallas to spend time with my family.  We haven't been up since Christmas, so it's much needed.  We don't have huge plans, just some much needed family time with Papa, Aunt Tanya, & Cousin Austyn.  We also plan on hitting the mall tomorrow since it's supposed to be beautiful & Mama needs some new clothes for her new job!

Valentine's Day is this coming Monday, and we're going to play it pretty low key.  Bella has a Valentine's party today at her school, so Daddy is taking her to celebrate with her classmates before I leave work.  Monday, I'm going to cook Daddy & Bella's favorite meal & celebrate low key!  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and a great Valentine's Day!

Weekend Wrap Up

February 7, 2011

This weekend we stayed indoors mostly. Friday it snowed here (a whole 2" for the RR area! Ha!) We stayed in and played in the snow all day Friday, then Saturday it started to warm up & melt away.  Bella & I decided we needed to get out, so we went to Target and then Old Navy!  Bella even made a "friend" while I was checking out!

After Eric got home from work Saturday, we met up with his parents for a celebrational dinner for me!  (I got a new job within my existing company!  I am super excited!)  Afterwards, they asked if Bella could stay with them for the night, so Eric & I picked up some vino and headed home to watch the Horns play!
Sunday, Eric had to work again, so we headed to the mall since it was such a beautiful day!  We played in the kid's area, then went sunglasses shopping at Forever 21!  I was planning on trying on some new clothes, but due to the snow, they had frozen pipes that ended up breaking all over their dressing rooms!  So we stuck to sunglasses and necklaces! Ha!  Afterwards, we hung out until Daddy came home, then we all bbq'd and watched the Super Bowl.  It was such a nice quiet weekend, which was needed!  Happy Monday!

Bella as a butterfly!

Giveaway Ends THIS Thursday!

Make sure to leave a comment for a chance to win a free coupon for a bottle of Purex Crystal Fabric Softener!  3 people will win & as of right now, there is a low entry rate!!  I use this at home and LOVE the way my clothes smell and feel!!  Good luck!

Snow Day 2011

February 5, 2011

Yes in Texas, it's snowing!!  It's absolutely beautiful!  And to top it off, most of the city is closed due to the ice underneath the snow!  We're at home staying warm, letting Bella play in the snow for a few minutes every few hours.  She actually asked to come in last time because she got so cold!

This weekend we're pretty much doing the same thing, staying in, staying warm, and just relaxing and enjoying our time together.  Here's some pictures from today before all the snow melted!

Thursday night when the snow first started coming down.

The flower Bella picked for me!
