This weekend was absolutely fantastic! Saturday we ran errands, then went to Pflugerville to look at a neighborhood we love. Bella even got to run the bases at their mini baseball field! We then went home and grilled salmon & asparagus & just had a nice quiet evening.
Sunday we went to church then headed to the water park! Bella was unbelievably excited & we had the best time! She even was okay when it was time to go! We then headed to Grandma's so Bella could stay overnight and spend time with them. Eric & I ended up having some friends over for a BBQ. It was really fun catching up with them.
Monday we went to the mall, then looked at a few more houses before heading back. We came back and Bella got to drive her Mustang Power Wheels around the neighborhood. There's a nice cul-de-sac right around the corner she got to drive in for a while.
Overall a wonderful fun weekend with family & friends!

On May 30th, the Candlelight Inn in Arlington, TX will be closing it's doors. It opened in 1957 & I know our family has been going since the 80's. It's a wonderful hole in the wall restaurant with great food & a good atmosphere.
It doesn't look like much & probably only held 50 or so people at one time, but the memories of our family eating dinner there and listening to the table top jukebox that was 5 cents a song will last forever! I wish we could have gotten up there this weekend for one last meal, but instead I will just say, "Until Next Time." (Oh wait that's Oprah!) Goodbye Candlelight... you will be missed!
How I've missed you since January!
This weekend we have nothing planned, but lots of ideas of fun family things... waterparks, Kung Fu Panda 2, lounging poolside while Bella splashes around with Daddy, Round Rock Express game, I could go on and on. I don't know how many of these we will actually make, but I'm glad we've got options. Now that the summer has officially kicked off in Texas (the high WITHOUT the heat index was 100 yesterday!) we can now start hitting the neighborhood pool. And trust me, I need some sun!
How are you spending your Memorial Weekend?

If you read my blog at all, you know how much I love to relax with a nice glass of wine. After a tough day, or when spending some quality time with the hubby, a good wine always makes me happy. So, when I was given the chance to review Flip Flop Wines, I was thrilled! I had seen the wines at my local market, and was planning on trying them out. The bottles & designs remind me of the beach & summer time, and who doesn't love that?!
The thing I love most about Flip Flop wines, is for every bottle they sell, SolesforSouls donates a pair of shoes to a child in need!! How absolutely wonderful is that?! I actually donate to SolesforSouls, so this made me so happy to know that just by buying a bottle of wine, you are helping a child!
So here's a rundown on the wines I tried:
I was given 3 Flip Flop Wines to try, the Riesling, Pinot Grigio, & Pinot Noir.
I am usually a sweet white wine drinker, so I had to try the Riesling 1st. (And just to note, I tried them on different days/weekends, not all at once!) It was smooth & sweet, but not overly sweet like a lot of Rieslings. I tried it with chicken & grilled asparagus, and it really complimented the food well.
My husband likes dry white wines, so he was the Pinot Grigio taster. He said he liked how crisp it tasted & said the citrus taste worked well with the wine. Even though he's usually a beer drinker, he said he would definitely like to buy this wine again. If my husband likes a wine enough to buy, then you know it must taste good!
The Pinot Noir we tried together. It was a much drier wine, but still had a hint of sweetness that I really liked. We grilled steak & corn on the cob to have with it, and it was perfect with our meal.
We enjoyed all 3 Flip Flop wines & will definitely be buying more!

On Friday, Bella graduated from Pre-K! I was able to get off of work that morning and go to her school to see her get her "diploma". It was super cute & all the kids sang a few songs, then went to get their diplomas. Afterwards, they enjoyed cake & juice. Grandma & Grandpa both were able to come as well, so Bella was super excited! After she graduated, I took her to McDonald's for a celebratory lunch, then we spent the day just playing and relaxing together. I loved it!

Saturday after Eric got off work & I took Bella to swim class, we decided to take a day trip to Gruene, TX. It's one of my absolute favorite little towns in Texas, and we had such a wonderful trip! We ate at the Gristmill, which was packed with graduates & their families. Even with the tons and tons of people, it was still so enjoyable & the food was delicious! After lunch, we got Bella a toy at the General Store, then walked around enjoying the beautiful weather & scenery. We decided to end our trip at The Grapevine Winery with a nice glass of wine relaxing while Bella got to run around the patio area & play. A great enjoyable day!

Sunday, we went to church, then headed to Eric's parents' house for lunch with them. We got to catch up with them, and before we left, put Bella on the swing while we enjoyed the 80 degree weather. Overall, such a wonderful weekend!
Hope everyone had a great week ahead!

There are 2 things I am absolutely obsessed about right now!
|Fage Greek Yougart|
They come in 4 different flavors (my fav is honey!) and have 0 grams of fat and around 130 calories!!
|Blue Diamond Almonds with Wasabi & Soy Sauce|
If you are a sushi freak like me, you will love these! They are somewhat spicy, and very addicting! I can eat a whole can in a day. Nice thing about them, they are healthy! Woo-Hoo!
What's your new obsession?
