300!

June 30, 2011

It's a big day at My Munoz Family Blog! (That sounds like I have a team working on this blog, but no, it's just me!) We've officially reached 300 followers! Woo-Hoo!! I am beyond excited & humbled that people want to read about our little family & what happens in our lives!! Thank you all for following, I am so happy!

In other news, I stayed home from work yesterday because Bella was up all night with a fever & sore throat.  No one in our house got any sleep Wednesday night, but Eric made it to work while I stayed home and took care of my sick baby.  She didn't really eat anything at all until dinner.  I even made pancakes for breakfast & grabbed McDonald's for lunch, but she didn't eat any at all!  Bella is my human garbage disposal, so when she's not eating something is definitely wrong! By the time Eric got home from work, she was starting to feel better.  Grandma had mentioned that she might have swimmer's ear since she is constantly in the water, so Eric brought some OTC medicine & we gave it to her.  Seemed to do the trick! She was able to eat some mashed potatoes for dinner & ice cream for dessert. Here fever broke overnight & this morning we dropped her off at Grandma's so I could go back to work.  So far no fever and doing well! Let's hope it lasts.
My sick Baby is still all smiles!

Tomorrow is Bella's 4th of July parade at school, so she really wants to make it to that.  Eric is taking off of work to go see her for it! I'll be watching the video from his IPhone once he gets home tomorrow night!

Tomorrow night is also our monthly Girl's Night In! It's at my house this month, and hopefully "Pretty Woman" will make it to my mailbox in time as well!  Incase you are wondering, there's a group of 7 or 8 women that get together once a month at someone's house and we watch a girly movie.  We all bring a side dish & our favorite bottle of wine.  We usually end up not actually watching the movie, but chatting & laughing the whole time instead!  It's a great night with the girls & I am excited it's at my house this time!

We hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July Weekend! It's overly hot here & extremely dry so there are no fireworks in the Central Texas area. So, we're celebrating at Sandra & Mark's house Sunday night with swimming, bbq, and sangria! Should be tons of fun with Eric's family!

Winnie The Pooh

June 28, 2011

We saw a preview for the new movie, "Winnie the Pooh" when we went to see "Cars 2" (which by the way was an awesome movie! Bella LOVED it!) Bella doesn't know too much about Winnie the Pooh and asked about him after the movie.  We'll definitely be taking her to see it next month when it hits theaters!

ABOUT THE MOVIE:
Walt Disney Animation Studios returns to the Hundred Acre Wood with “Winnie the Pooh.” Featuring the timeless charm, wit and whimsy of the original featurettes, this all-new movie reunites audiences with the philosophical “bear of very little brain” and friends Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Owl, Kanga, Roo—and last, but certainly not least, Eeyore, who has lost his tail.  “Ever have one of those days where you just can’t win, Eeyore?” asks Pooh.  Owl sends the whole gang on a wild quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit. It turns out to be a very busy day for a bear who simply set out to find some honey. Inspired by three stories from A.A. Milne’s books in Disney’s classic, hand-drawn art style, “Winnie the Pooh” hits theatres on July 15th!

Weekend Wrap Up

June 26, 2011

This weekend was once again a great one! Saturday morning, I went to get my hair done, while Eric took Bella to swim class.  We met back up at the house then headed out to run errands.  We took Bella to Grandma & Grandpa's after nap time.  Eric's work party downtown started at 6 p.m.  It was really fun & nice to see people we haven't seen in months.  We ended up leaving early and coming home to share some wine & watch Game of Thrones.

Sunday morning we headed to Eric's parents to get Bella super early.  We surprised her and took her to the movie theater to watch Cars 2!

Posing before the movie started
We all loved the movie & the theater was packed!  We came back, went grocery shopping, then came home to play & relax.  Now we're just waiting for the True Blood season premiere! (We'll be watching it late after Bella Belle's asleep!) Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Feelin' Festive!

June 24, 2011

I was feeling festive for the upcoming Independence Day & decided to make my blog go along with my mood! It will be this way until after the 4th when I will change it back to the original scheme.

This week has been very quiet in our house.  Bella's been awesome & finally getting used to her new teacher & classmates.  We were really starting to get worried when she would be scared & cry every time we dropped her off.  Finally by Monday she started easing into her new class a lot more & by the end of the week it was no problem to go by herself!

This weekend we are going to Eric's work party at the Austonian Saturday.  It should be a fun night out for us.  We're surprising Bella Sunday morning and taking her to see Cars 2! She has been uber-excitied for the movie to come out for weeks now.  We have everything Cars 2 including her yogurt at home, so she'll definitely be surprised & excited when we end up at the movie theater!

We ended up buying new suitcases for our upcoming trip.  Ours aren't too big & with bag fees, we decided to get a big one that can hold everything to save a little $$.  They came in yesterday and i just love them! I got the hard case with 360 wheels. It comes with a smaller carry-on matching suitcase. We also purchased a cover for Bella's booster seat that's on it's way to our house too.  We have a little less than a month before heading to see my family in New York.  We're so excited to see everyone, go shopping, & eat tons of delicious food!!

We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Weekend Wrap Up

June 20, 2011

I wanted to preface this post by saying I have no pictures from our weekend because frankly, the entire weekend was spent celebrating my husband, and by Sunday night I was fairly exhausted! So here goes the awesome weekend we had that might be a tad boring for you since there's nothing to show for it! Pictures to come!

Saturday was my hub's 30th birthday.  I spent the day celebrating on a boat with a bunch of girls without Eric.  My friend's birthday is the day before his, so I went to celebrate her birthday, while he went golfing with the guys to celebrate his.  We both got home around the same time, got all ready, and went to the Alamo Draft House to see Green Lantern.  It was actually a good movie and we really enjoyed spending some quality time together.

Sunday we picked Bella up early from Grandma's, then headed to church.  They did a slideshow of the Dad's in the church with their kids, and Eric & Bella were on the slide show! It was so cute!  After church, I surprised Eric with lunch (brunch for us who didn't eat before church) at Chuy's! He was really surprised and happy I picked his favorite place. I asked him what all he wanted to do for Father's Day and here was his response: "Sit on the couch with a nice cold beer & watch the US Open." So that's exactly how our afternoon was spent.  I cleaned the house a little while Eric & Bella laid on the couch.  Then I met them up for a family nap time.  We ended this fabulous weekend with dinner at North by Northwest with Eric's family celebrating Father's Day & Eric's birthday! Great weekend!

The Big 30!!

June 17, 2011

On Saturday, June 18th, my hubby is turning the big 30!
I am so excited for him to see what the coming decade brings for him.  Eric's not only my husband, but my best friend & soul mate.
We've been together for almost 12 years now, and I couldn't imagine my life or Bella's without him!

He's a wonderful husband & Daddy who cares more for his family than for himself.
He is loyal, loving, caring, & overall the person whom God blessed me with.
Bella loves her Daddy more than anything and her face lights up every time he walks through the door.
I hope the next 30 years together will only get better as we walk through this life together!

Happy 30th Birthday Eric!
We love you!!

Flip Flop Wines! (Review)

June 16, 2011

After a long day at work, coming home, cooking dinner, cleaning the house, bathing my daughter, etc. etc. etc. the thing I look forward to is a nice glass of wine with the hubby while catching up on our favorite shows.  On the weekends, we'll all go out back, let Bella run around & look at the stars while sharing a nice glass of wine and talking about our future & our lives together.  It really makes for a perfect night!

You know my love of Flip Flop Wines & when I got to review 2 more bottles, I was ecstatic!  I love that they are all priced at $7.99, but more than that, I love how they donate to Souls for Soles with each bottle purchased!

This time I got to try the Flip Flop Wines Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon.
I have said this before & I'll be honest, I'm not a huge red wine fan, so when I got these I was a little nervous to try them and give my honest review.

So here's how it went down:

First I tried the Cab.  I had some girls over one Friday night a few weeks ago & they saw the wine and told me how they've been wanting to try Flip Flop Wines for a while!  We broke out the Cab & decided to see how it was.  I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it!  It was dry, but still had this hint of sweetness that really made the flavor.  Both of my friends commented how delicious it was, and that a nice steak & potatoes would be perfect with it! When Eric got home, he wanted a glass, so he tried it and said the same thing as the ladies did! We're definitely getting this next time we grill steaks out back!

Monday night we decided to break out the Merlot since we were grilling pork chops.  Eric really likes dryer wines, so I had him try it first. He gave me a good nod, so I poured myself a glass to try.  It was very dry which I usually don't fancy, but I actually liked pairing it with the pork chops.  The flavor of plum stood out to me & I thought it was very nice.

Even when I am not reviewing Flip Flop Wines, I will still be enjoying them with my family and friends for years to come!

Here's some more information on Flip Flop Wines!

Rain Rain Come Again ASAP

I absolutely LOVE living in Texas and know that when the Summer season comes around, it's going to be hot & dry.  Usually by August we're in the 100's & that it's super hot.  Well, we've been in the 100's since May and have not had a drop of rain for at least 2 months!  The high today without the heat index is 102! I'm praying for rain, washing my car, etc. but nothing is changing!  Please help in praying for rain!

In other news, my hubby is turning the BIG 30 this Saturday!! We had his birthday party last Sunday with a big boat party on Lake Travis! It was so much fun & he thoroughly enjoyed it! He's going golfing with his friends during the day Saturday & I have another friend's boat party to attend, but then we're meeting up afterwards to have dinner & watch the Green Lantern at the Alamo Draft House, just the 2 of us! Sunday we're celebrating Father's Day by going to church, then brunch, followed by relaxing & hanging out together.  We're meeting his family Sunday for his birthday/Father's Day dinner.  Should be a perfect weekend! (Be even more perfect if it rained for bit! haha!)

Thank you to Melissa @ Keeping Up with the Rheinlanders for awarding me the Versatile Blogger award!  I love getting awards (seriously, who doesn't?!) Here's what I need to do:

So Here is How It Works:

2. Tell us 7 things about yourself.
3. Award 15 lovely bloggers.
4. Contact those bloggers and let them in on the exciting news!

7 Things About Me:

1) I am uber organized. I plan months and months in advance & love planning parties!
2) I was a surprise for my parents! My brother is 10 years older than me, and my sister is 7!
3) I was born on a Friday just like my daughter!
4) I have horrible asthma, which makes working out a lot tougher, but I manage to work out 4-5 days a week thanks to my inhalers.
5) I LOVE water! It's all I drink from the time I wake up until I go to bed (with the exception of a glass of wine now & then!)
6) My husband is my very best friend! We've been together for almost 12 years now, and have rarely spent an evening away from each other.  We still make time for date nights & spend as much time together as possible.
7) Bella is my life.  I know that sounds cliche, but I love her more than life itself, and feel like everything I do is for her.  I wouldn't have it any other way!

My 15 Bloggers:

Off Track for a While

June 7, 2011

I'm usually doing reviews & giveaways right now, but this month is uber busy & as of yesterday, I have a sick kiddo at home.  Bella's been coughing like crazy for the past 2 days, so I'm staying home with her today & taking her to Dr. B's.  I'm hoping it's nothing bad, but with the temps here reaching over 100 degrees without the heat index, then sick is bound to happen.  I'm hoping she'll be better tomorrow & we can sleep again tonight!

This month is my husband's 30th birthday, a lot of friend's birthdays, Father's Day, & Eric's work party.  Whew!! I'm busy planning everything & trying to make it all work.  Never a dull moment!

So stay tuned!  Reviews & giveaways to come!  Make sure to enter my giveaway for Chicken Soup for the Soul book that ends tomorrow night!!

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was nice and quiet.
Friday Night, I met up with one of my dearest friends, Melissa for drinks and appetizers.  We had a great time catching up & chatting about blogging! It's always a great time when we get together. We decided to start a blog hop, so check back soon for it!

Eric had Habitat for Humanity most of the day Saturday, so I took Bella to swim class.  She did great and is really working hard to float on her back for more than 20 seconds!  Now we're working on Chicken, Star, Rocket to teach the butterfly stroke.  After swim class, we grabbed lunch, took naps at home, then went shopping for some new Crocs.  She choose the bright green colored ones, which are actually pretty darn cute! Eric got off while we were shopping, so we met him at home and did a few more errands before heading to Rosa's for dinner.  Delicious & the last Mexican food we'll eat for a week or so!  We've decided to go on a crash (healthy crash) diet for the next week to get ready for his birthday boat party.

Sunday, we went to church, then headed to Old Navy & HEB before heading home.  We had lunch and naps before heading to the water park.  We got there around 4 pm and noticed a huge line outside of the water park. We stood in line for about 10 minutes realizing we hadn't moved an inch and no one in the front of the line had even gone in.  Eric went to see what was going on & found out they were over their maximum capacity!  We decided to head to a local swimming pool instead, and I completely forgot to bring my camera!

We ended the weekend grilling Mahi Mahi & asparagus with mashed potatoes, & watching the Mavs.  All in all a nice relaxing weekend! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Thoughts?

June 3, 2011

I am a little undecided on how to proceed...

Starting on Monday or so, Bella has started saying "Yes Ma'am" & "Yes Sir" when we ask her to do something or ask her a question.  I know it's great that she is learning manners & hope she says this to adults she meets & speaks to, but for her parents, I'm not so sure.  I was raised to call adults Ma'am & Sir to show respect, but my parents always told me never to say that to them.  Nothing bad about it, but they felt they'd rather be called Mom & Dad.

When Bella says it to me, it literally throws me off for a second, because A) I'm not used to her saying it yet & B) I feel like she shouldn't feel the need to say that to me & her Dad. She should feel more comfortable saying Mommy & Daddy to us.

Eric is very "into" her calling us Ma'am and Sir, and now when she doesn't say it, he will correct her. (Not all the time and not in a mean way, but just as a reminder) I tell him not to, but he was brought up differently and feels she is showing us respect.

How do you feel about it?
For new readers, our daughter is still young and learning. (She's 4 1/2)
