Weekend Wrap Up

March 6, 2012

Since I was too excited about Sunday night's dinner and just had to share it with everyone yesterday morning, I decided to do my weekend wrap up on Tuesday this week.
I haven't posted about our weekends lately, because honestly, there hasn't been much to post about.  Cleaning house, running errands, etc. Not my idea of postworthy.
This weekend was quite the contrary!
Let me break it down by days...
Friday Night:

Bella had her very 1st school dance! They called it a Sadie Hawkins dance, although none of the kids had any idea what that meant.  I picked Bella up from school, then we headed home to get her all pampered & ready for her dance.  I got her an cute, easy dress to wear that she can still play & have fun in; put her hair up with a big bow, & just made her absolutely the cutest kiddo ever!

When we got there, the school had outdone themselves! They had corsages for the girls, decorated the gym to look like prom, & had a photo booth for the kids to take their pictures together!  All of the parents were amazed at how much it reminded us of prom & how in 10 years or so, we'll be seeing these kiddos heading there on their own. {tear}
Bella had the best time & was exhausted when we went to pick her up. (After Momma & The Hubs got to have a date night at our favorite sushi restaurant!)
Eric had to work that morning, so Bella and I ran a few errands, then played basketball in the driveway until The Hubs made it home.  After grabbing lunch, taking the car in for an oil change, & going grocery shopping, we were pulling into our house when Mel called and asked us over for dinner.  We all had the best time catching up, letting the girl's play together, & eating a delicious dinner they made!
Did I mention the whole weekend was sunny & around 75 degrees here?! No?! Well, Sunday after church, we headed to the park to enjoy the beautiful weather.  Austin was having their annual Kite Festival at Zilker park, but we're not big on huge (thousands of people!) crowds, so we got Bella's kite and had our own festival in the park.  Apparently, we weren't the only ones, because there were about 30 other kites flying along with ours.  Bella loved it!
On our way home, The Hubs decided to treat us to burgers at Little Red Wagon.  We have driven by it tons of times and it's always packed, so we went in & had some of the best burgers we've had in ages! It was really a mom & pop locals type place, but we had great food & a wonderful lunch!  Once we got home, we loaded up Bella's barbie car & let her drive it in a nearby empty parking lot.  We had the best day & ended it with a delish dinner.  Couldn't ask for more!
