Kiki's Towel Shorts

July 31, 2013

I don't know about you, but I hate when we go swimming and Bella doesn't want to get out until the absolute last minute before we have to leave, so we throw a towel around her and pray she doesn't get our car seats soaking wet. Happens ALL THE TIME. Then I heard about these...
Kiki's Towel Pants

How cute are these?! I love them for little boys! And once I got online and looked at all the selections I decided to get Bella the Pink Hibiscus Skirt. When we got them in, I showed them to her and she loved them! Said they were so cute she couldn't wait to go swimming to try them out!
Once she put them on she was in love & so was I! It fit perfectly, was easy for her to put on and off, looked adorable, & the best thing they nice and thick to keep from letting the water get in my car.

I definitely recommend Kiki's towel shorts/skirt for anyone who has kids that are little water babies like mine!

Disclaimer: I was given the skirt for review purposes only, I was not compensated in any way for a favorable review. All opinions are that of My Munoz Family Blog.

July 30, 2013

Okay my hairstylist Amanda (who by the way if you live in Round Rock area, go to her she is the best stylist I've ever had!!) is going to kill me when she sees this post, but I really needed some new shampoo and conditioner and didn't have time to get the good stuff, so while at HEB I decided to try something out I've heard great reviews about...

Suave Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner

I can't say enough good things about this shampoo & conditioner! The smell is amazing, during washing my hair felt so smooth, and after it dried my hair was so shiny, soft, manageable, etc. I am head over heels in love with these bad boys!

The best part?! I paid $3 a bottle!! $3!!! Amazing!!!

First of a Few

July 29, 2013

This weekend we went to my hometown to celebrate my Dad's & my birthdays. Mine's not for a few more weeks, but they thought they'd get me at Mariano's. Not only did we have some awesome food and drinks I also got this...

Oh yeah full on Birthday Hat Singing, people watching me, my family laughing, good times.

How was your weekend?

Shock & Sadness

July 28, 2013

I woke up this morning at my Dad's house in Dallas and immediately heard the news of Kidd Kraddick's passing. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I felt like I lost a member of my family.
I have been listening to "Kidd Kraddick in the Morning" since I was in middle school. I listened to him religiously Monday through Friday on my way to high school, college, & even now listened to him on I Heart Radio every morning. His warm heart was very apparent each and every morning. I donated to Kidd's Kidds and loved hearing every time they took those beautiful children to Disney.
My heart goes out to all of the show especially Kellie & Big Al. They've been there through it all with him and were just as much family as he was.  I'm praying for them as well as Jenna, J-Si, & Shannon. But most importantly, I'm praying for his daughter Caroline. I pray that she finds comfort in knowing that not only are the people of DFW praying for her, but people from all over the United States.
I feel like words can't completely describe how we're all feeling right now, but I will say that no matter what happens, I hope Kidd knows he was very much loved and respected.

Please tune into 106.1 tomorrow (Monday) morning at 7 a.m. Central time to listen to Kellie, Big Al, Jenna, J-Si, & Shannon talk about everything they are going through. Let's help celebrate his life the way he deserves!

Keep Looking Up, Cause That's Where It All Is!

Favorite YouTubers

July 24, 2013

I am a self confessed YouTubeaholic. I will sit for hours watching different videos on makeup, hair, funny shows I used to watch, etc. Make up (shockingly) is my favorite ones to watch. I have learned so many neato things from them & actually go to those videos when trying to decide what to buy and what works the best. Here's my updated list of favorite YouTubers:
She is insanely hilarious! She's a fellow Texan & she loves to take you shopping with her & try new As Seen on TV products out to see if they really work. There's quite a few videos she's done that I literally have laughed so hard I'm crying. Definitely a must see!
Tati is perfect for telling you anything and everything about makeup. She's gorgeous & loves to try out new drugstore and highend makeup. She's very down to earth & is completely honest about products she likes and ones she doesn't.
She is so hilarous when she tells you her favorites! She definitely doesn't post enough because I'm always in search of a new video from her. But she's a professional stylist and will tell you what haircare products work and which don't. Love!

My Next Purchase

July 23, 2013

I have been using one of the most famous blushes out there (Nars) & love it, but hate spending so much money on blush. I'm always on the find for a great drugstore blush & I think I've found the perfect one...
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

It's not the same as Nars, but the color looks amazing for summer time & I've heard great reviews on it forever.  Here's the only problem... I went onto the Milani website and didn't see this exact color listed! Has it been discontinued? I found it on & hoping I can find it at Walgreens or CVS this weekend! Crossing my fingers!!

Friday Faves... Fall Boots

July 19, 2013

So this week we have had rain & it's been in the 90's all week... in JULY in TEXAS.  WHAT?! Yeah and so of course dipping below the 100 mark makes me think of Fall & Fall makes me think of cute boots I'm dying for... so here are a few I'll be begging the Hubs for this year. (I'm not holding my breath for them though!)
Frye Paige Trapunto Boots

Ummm yes please! They look so cute and comfy I just want to put on some skinny jeans and pray for the 70 degree weather to get here! Now being that these are around $350, my thoughts are that The Hubs will tell me fat chance!

I posted about these last year and finally went out and bought a pair. (Of boots that is!) Best shoe purchase I've ever made. I've pretty much worn the life out of them & will have to buy another pair before the cold weather hits. (In January!)

Confession, I've never owned a pair of riding boots before. WHAT?!? Yup, wierdo I know. But that shall change this Fall I predict! (It better!) These are so adorable and only around $180! Plus I'm a huge Aldo fan! Love their heels too!!

July 18, 2013

Another hair product... yup it's getting out of hand at this point. I always felt I didn't put much product in my hair, but after starting my obsessed posts, I realize I am indeed wrong. Oh well, It Is What It Is (This saying I hate more than anything!!!)
TIGI After Party
Okay so what this does is magical... kinda. After I've flat ironed my hair I get about a dime size of this and rub it in my hair. It smoothes all the little fly aways & makes my hair more soft & shiny. No seriously people, this crap is awesome! I can usually find it for around $15 & I'm never without it.

One time I thought I'd be supa smart & try to find a knock off of this at HEB. Yup ended up with helmet hair all the day long. Never.Again.

What products are you obsessed with?

Cheese Loaf Dip

July 17, 2013

Okay this dip I make for EVERY SINGLE PARTY we throw. And no lie, it's completely gone including the bread bowl by the time the party ends. Crumbs people! This is the most amazing dip... promise!

Cheese Loaf Dip

2 cups real mayonnaise
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 med size onion (finely chopped)
salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
2 loaves of French Bread ( or dough bread )

Cut and hollow out the oval section in one of the loaves of bread.  Cut bread top and inside pieces into approx. 1" cubes.  Cut the other loaf of the bread into same size cubes.  ( I use 1/2 to 3/4 of the 2nd loaf depending on the size of the French bread... Put hollowed out loaf on a cookie sheet.  ( I line mine with foil - this way you can serve it on the cookie sheet and it is easy to clean-up).

Mix mayo, cheese, sour cream, onion, salt, pepper, and garlic powder all together and pour into hollowed out bread.

Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes.  Take the cubed pieces and surround the bread loaf after the loaf has baked for 20 minutes.
Cook for the remaining 20 minutes.

So delish & can you believe I posted 2 different recipes this week?! What is the world coming to??
Happy Wednesday!

Cream Cheese Chicken Enchiladas!!

July 16, 2013

This is by far my most requested recipe! I made these Sunday night for dinner (I ended up making 20 enchiladas!! Enough for 2 nights!) I got rave reviews, sent some over to my neighbor who asked me to make these more often, etc. They are delicious!!
I got the recipe here & followed it to the T.
They came out perfectly!!
2-3 chicken breasts, shredded {OR rotisserie chicken}
1 {8 oz.} pkg. cream cheese
1 28 oz. can green enchilada sauce {I used Las Palmas}
1 can black beans, drained & rinsed
2 cups cooked rice {I used boil in a bag because I can't cook rice to save my life!!!}
Tortillas {I used Mission flour tortillas, but homemade would be muy delicioso!}
1-2 cups shredded monterrey & colby cheese
Cook chicken and shred; boil rice. Mix the shredded chicken, cream cheese, and 2 cups of the enchilada sauce together. This mix makes A TON!!!!
(Sorry this was blurry, I almost forgot to take pics along the way cooking!)
Pour half a cup of the enchilada sauce into the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.
Layer the rice & black beans to your taste…

and top with the chicken mixture in each tortilla.

Roll up each of the tortillas and place them in the baking dish seam side down
Top with 1 cup of the enchilada sauce…

and 1-2 cups of shredded cheese.  The more, the merrier so we piled on the full two cups
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake at 375 for about 25 minutes.

Uncover the enchiladas, turn on the broiler, and broil for about 3-5 minutes uncovered...just long enough to brown the cheese.
OMG these turned out amazing! I was a little worried having rice & black beans IN the enchiladas, but it really tasted awesome! Even Bella ate her whole meal!!

Thanks again to Pearls, Handcuffs, & Happy Hour for this amazing recipe

Weekend Wrap Up

July 15, 2013

This weekend ended up being crazy busy & yet still so much fun. We had friends over Friday night for our weekly Driveway Hangout. We ended up staying out too late and having a few drinks, so we nixed working out Saturday morning & slept in.
We had a neighborhood baby shower for Kelli Jo Saturday afternoon & it turned out so cute!

All the girls & the cute Momma! Love this lady!

Saturday night we went with friends and had a lot of this...

Then went to a new neighborhood bar that was awesome. We had so much fun & ended up leaving pretty early to get Bella and head home.

Sunday was an almost lazy day, but I ended the weekend making this

Soooooo amazingly delicious... Recipe coming this week!

I finished my weekend like this... Amazing!

July 11, 2013

Last night The Hubs and I got to on a sweet little dinner cruise around Lake Austin with some of his co-workers. It was a lot of fun & eventhough it was close to 105 outside, we had a great time & didn't die of heat!

The best part was getting to watch the sunset over the 360 Bridge! It was amazing!

Everyone was looking at the amazing houses on the lake & wishing we owned one! Ha! It really was a great time, and hopefully we can go back again soon!

July 10, 2013

How am I just now getting on this bandwagon?! I've heard nothing but amazing reviews & everytime I went to get it, I talked myself out of it because PEOPLE IT'S EXPENSIVE!!
I mean $20 for a SMALL bottle?! Are ya kidding me?!
But my hair is getting really dry from the pool, heat, sun, plus washing it almost daily after working out, so I finally gave in & made the insane jump to buy it.
And let me tell you...
I'm so serious, I actually saw a huge change in my hair the next morning after it dried. (And yes I am one of those weirdos who lets my hair air dry. Not because it's good for it, but because I'm horribly lazy when it comes to my hair!)

Go out... go out today & invest in this stuff!!

And nope, wasn't given anything for free nor paid for this, just adore it completely!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

July 9, 2013

Dad with his kids... me, Tanya, & Brent

Today is my Dad's birthday! I wish we were home this weekend to celebrate, but we'll definitely be in town at the end of the month to celebrate!
My Dad is one of the best men I know. He's been through so much and has been a rock for our family through everything! He's definitely my hero & the one I always look up to. I know if there's ever anything wrong, he'll drop everything to come help. He's always been that way for his kids & grand kids.

Taking A Train

July 8, 2013

On Saturday afternoon we took Bella on her 1st train ride to downtown Austin. We now have (for the last few years mind you) the Metro Rail here and within 20 minutes you can be downtown, so we thought it would be a fun little adventure...

Momma & Bella waiting for the train to arrive!

The Hubs & Bella on our 1st train ride together!
Once we made it downtown, we decided to walk around and look for a place to eat. We ended up at Casa Chapala and had one of these little beauties.
Afterwards we walked around for a while, ended up at some type of convention while waiting for the train to arrive. Then headed back home. And this is how the train ride home went...

That is until we got home & the little one got her 2nd wind!

Herb and Citrus Oven Roasted Chicken

July 2, 2013

I tried this recipe from The Comfort of Cooking & tweeked it slightly because
The Hubs is allergic to oranges.
Anyway it came out AMAZING!! Highly recomment it!!

Herb and Citrus Oven Roasted Chicken

Yield: Serves 6

1/4 cup olive oil
4 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tablespoons sugar
2 whole lemons, one juiced and one sliced
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
10-12 pieces (about 4 1/2 lbs.) bone-in chicken parts (thighs and legs are best)
1 medium onion (any kind), thinly sliced
1 teaspoon dried thyme, or fresh chopped
1 tablespoon dried rosemary, or fresh chopped
Chopped fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, parsley), for garnish, optional

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
In a small bowl whisk together olive oil, garlic, sugar, lemon juice, orange juice, Italian seasoning, paprika, onion powder, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper.
Place chicken in a rimmed 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Pour olive oil mixture all over chicken, turning pieces to coat all sides. Add chicken with all liquid to pan (even in marinating in liquid).
Place parts skin side up and spread them out evenly in the pan.  Arrange slices of lemon and onion around and under the chicken. Sprinkle all over generously with thyme, rosemary, salt and pepper.
Bake uncovered for about 1 hour, or until chicken is cooked and juices run clear. Remove parts to a serving platter and garnish with additional chopped fresh herbs, if desired.
Here's what mine looked like when it came out of the oven... Delish!
