Adios 2014

December 31, 2014

As we close out 2014 tonight and celebrate the beginning of 2015, I will look back on this year fondly. It wasn't the easiest or best year for our family, but overall we enjoyed it!

Last year my main resolution was to loose weight and get in shape. I'm so happy to report that I stuck to it all year. I've lost most of the weight I wanted to, and still run 3 - 4 times a week plus weights.

We went on some amazing vacations this year, and can't wait to go on more this coming year! (NY and Vegas here we come!)

Our house is finally coming together (only took 5 years!) and starting to look the way we imagined it would when we bought it. Now to replace the 1st story floors next year.

We lost some loved ones and miss them terribly, but know they're in a better place with no pain.

Overall a wonderful year....
Looking forward to 2015!!
Bring It On!!

(NYE pics will be posted soon! Have a safe and happy New Years!)

Christmas Wrap Up

December 28, 2014

Wow what a long week we had! Luckily I was home the whole week and was able to get runs in almost daily & spend tons of time with my little girl while The Hubs was at work.
We actually ended up spending hours on Christmas Eve baking all different types of cookies to take to the family. Although tedious, we really had fun and I told her I'm gonna make her do this with me every year because I'm that mean awesome of a mom!

We met The Hubs at church for Christmas Eve service & our Church really put on an amazing service! We actually made it through the whole service without leaving which was a miracle in itself!
They even had it snowing inside the church during service!

Afterwards we headed to my in-law's house to celebrate with delicious food, great gifts, and ended up having a blast playing games until we tired ourselves out.

Mommy & Bella Belle right before we left for service.
She even let me curl her hair.
Another Christmas miracle!

A little blurry but best pic we could get. Shocking for us!

Christmas morning Santa delivered in a big way. PS4, Rip stick, and tons of toys and games. She was in Heaven and we were so excited to watch her open them.
Momma & Daddy also did well getting her a 3DS to play.

Afterwards we headed home to celebrate Christmas day with my family. My sister, nephew, & I went to visit my mom before dinner & wish her a Merry Christmas. Dinner was delicious and we had an amazing time (I totally forgot to take pictures there... I suck sometimes!)

Overall a great and wonderful Christmas.
Now it's back to the grind for a few days until New Year's Eve!

Holiday Wish List

December 17, 2014

Every girl has a wish list she wants for Christmas.
And I'm no exception.
I set up an Amazon Wish List for family to easily find things I want, but for The Hubs I make it a little harder.
Luckily he catches on easily...

Handbag - Every year I ask for a new cute handbag. Usually it's a Coach bag, but not this year my friends, no no, it's a Kate Spade! And bonus it's on sale!

Nume Curling Wand - In the youtube beauty guru world, Nume is the best curling wand around. So of course I wanted one! I don't curl my hair often because it falls by the end of the night, but I'm hoping this will fix that. 2013 beach waves here I come!

Melissa Button Boot - Holy goodness I love these boots. I have them in brown and wear them an insane amount. Like literally daily. It's kinda sad, but I'm in love with them, and now want them in black. Yup just call me spoiled!

15

December 16, 2014

15 years ago I met Eric. Seems crazy since we're only 33, but we met freshman year of college.
We met by mutual friends at a bar on 6th street. (Stay classy!)

I've said it before but we really have been through so much together.
He was there for me when my mom passed and he stayed the year and a half afterward when I didn't want to get out of bed every day.

We've moved multiple times to multiples places, even back to my hometown, which only last a little over a year because we both missed Austin too much.

But more than anything, we have created a wonderful life together and a beautiful, smart, amazing little girl who is the light of our lives.

I'm so glad I got to spend the last 15 years together and can't wait to spend many many more.

Exhausting Weekend Wrap Up

December 14, 2014

As I sit here with my family watching the Cowboys kick some Eagles butt, I realize I am extremely exhausted. This weekend did me in!

Friday night we went to The Hub's soccer game. They all played so well and won 5 - 4! Afterwards we had our favorite pizza from Local Slice in Cedar Park. We always get their large white pizza and it's amazing! Afterwards we enjoyed a glass of wine and caught up on our shows. That was the only relaxation I got all weekend...

Saturday I woke up at 7 a.m. and went for a run. I finished 2.5 miles and smelled someone cooking bacon near my house and had to head home! After going to the adorable Hudson's 1st birthday party, we went to the Christmas Festival put on by the YMCA.
It was in the high 70's so the "snow" they had quickly melted! We had fun riding a few carnival rides, then headed home. Saturday night we went across the street and celebrated Kellie's birthday until way to late in the night! (Or early morning!)

Sunday we went to our 3rd birthday party of the weekend and celebrated Eve & Ethan's 7th birthday roller skating style! Bella actually ended up catching on and doing pretty well. Granted she'll have quite a few bruises on her booty tomorrow!

I finished the day out by wrapping an insane amount of Christmas gifts, then cooking dinner. And that brings us to now. Relaxing and watching my beloved Cowboys!

Go Cowboys!!

Stocking Stuffer Ideas

December 9, 2014

With Christmas right around the corner (2 weeks wow!!) I thought this might be the perfect opportunity to give some ideas for stocking stuffers. Mainly for ladies of course because these are some things I either already own and love or really really want. (hint hint Eric), plus they are all pretty cheap! Score!

Winter Hat - Every girl needs a cute winter hat. Not just to look adorable but also to keep your head and ears all warm and cozy. I think this one is adorable and it's only $13!

Too Faced Eyeshadow Primer - I mentioned this in a previous post and still am madly in love with this primer. They come in different colors and work like a charm. Plus it's only $20!

Scarf - Every girl loves a great scarf, especially warm infinity scarves. This one is adorable and on sale for $14 now. Perfect for a stocking stuffer.

Wristlet - My need for a wristlet is getting desperate at this point. When we went to the wedding Saturday I had to carry an old way to dressy small handbag because I don't have a cute wristlet. I love the one above because it's gold and sparkly. 2 of my favorite things & it's $20!

Necklace - What girl doesn't love a beautiful necklace for the holidays? The tassle necklace above is adorable and only $50. Which may be expensive for a stocking stuffer, but not if she's special. Ha!

Weekend Wrap Up

December 7, 2014

It's Sunday evening and I'm exhausted! This weekend flew by quickly, was jammed packed, & we loved it! Let's start with Saturday morning...

Eric had his big certification test and was extremely nervous about it. So I took Bella to her friend's birthday party at Gattiland while he studied and went to take the test.

He texted me once he finished showing me he passed!!
Way to go Love!
Bella and I are so proud of you!

Once he got home, we left for his close friend's wedding reception.

It was a beautiful reception and we had the best time catching up with old friends.

Eric, Chris (groom), Steve, & Travis

These guys above grew up together and have remained close after all these years.

After the reception ended we headed over to my sister-in-law's house for an ugly sweater Christmas party.
Sandra, Lisa, Sonia, & me

We had so much fun catching up with them & playing crazy games.
It ended up being a late late night, but we had the best time.

Sunday we bought our 1st REAL Christmas tree!
We've always had a beautiful 10 ft. artificial tree since we bought our house, but with the new couches, there wasn't any room for it, so we decided to buy a real one and put it in the front room...
We really had fun trying to get it set up & not getting sap all over us in the process!
Bella had a meltdown 1/2 way through (it happens a lot lately... grr)
After she was able to calm down she came back downstairs and helped put the angel on the tree.
The Hubs and Bella have always put our angel and I was so glad she was able to do it again this year.

Now we're grilling pork chops and asparagus and watching football.
Exhausted and happy... it's a wonderful weekend.

Newest Drugstore Mascaras

December 1, 2014

This is definitely the time of the year for different drugstore brand makeup to put out as much new makeup as possible...
Aka
My favorite time of the year!

Here's some of the newer mascaras I found.

Lashblast Full Bloom Mascara - I saw this on EleventhGorgeous youtube post and can't wait to try it! I love any and all Covergirl mascaras especially the Lashblast! And it comes in waterproof! Score!

Loreal Butterfly Intenza Mascara - I actually tried this one already and liked it but not loved it. It separated well, and made my lashes longer, but no volume & I'm a volume mascara girl. It also comes in waterproof thank goodness!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Rockin Curves - This one looks interesting. I've honestly never tried Rimmel mascaras, but might have to try this one soon. The brush looks really cool & it's supposed to grab and show off the little hard to reach lashes. We shall see!

Thanksgiving Weekend Wrap Up

Woo-Hoo I'm finally back to blogging! Yay!

This weekend was a great time catching up with both families.
Thanksgiving morning we headed to Dallas to see my family. We had a great Thanksgiving and lots of laughs all around like we usually do.
Friday we took Bella to see Big Hero 6 at the movie theater & she loved it!
It was at Movie Studio Grill & Bella loved having a pizza and lemonade during her movie.
Also the movie was super cute! We all 3 loved it & now Bella's asking Santa for a Baymax toy!

We came home after breakfast Saturday morning & celebrated Thanksgiving with Eric's family.
It was also so much fun & the guys and kids played football after dinner while we cleaned & then relaxed.

Sunday we headed to a new store called At Home and bought a ton of outdoor Christmas decorations. On the way to Cedar Park we drove by these...
It's officially Christmas in Austin!

We finished the weekend decorating the outside of our casa, then having homemade Taco Soup. Yummy!

Stay tuned this week for our Christmas card reveal!

From Our Family to Yours...

November 25, 2014

I know I've been slacking on posts lately, but my family and I have gone through a lot in the past month.
From sickness to a passing of a family member, it's been a rough time.

I promise to start back to normal posts after Thanksgiving, and maybe a few Christmas gift ideas for my husband and maybe yours!

Until then...

I Can't Wait!

November 20, 2014

Have you heard there's a new Cinderella movie coming out?!
I just finished watching the trailer and can't wait to take Bella to see it!

I loved Cinderella as a child and hope Bella will too.
Here's the trailer... Enjoy!

Cinderella hits movie theaters March 13, 2015!

Best Eye Combo on the Go!

November 19, 2014

I'm finally FINALLY back to normal and not horribly sick! Woo!!

When I'm in a rush (usually at 5 a.m. getting ready for work) I tend to either put on a light eyeshadow and a great eyeliner or skip the shadow all together. It's easy and actually looks pretty without all the fuss of figuring out which color eyeshadow looks good with my outfit/other eyeshadows.

And let's face it, I'm lazy when it comes to makeup in the mornings so the faster the better.
I've found my perfect quick as can be eyeshadow & eyeliner combo.

Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance in Champagne - This is a primer and beautiful eyeshadow in one! I love love love the color & it lasts all day! They have 3 colors to choose from (a light yellow, champagne, & candlelight) but champagne is definitely my favorite! Also, when you order from their website they send you good sized samples of a few of their other products!

Almay Intense i-color Liquid Liner - I use the Topaz color for blue eyes. (I actually have green and it looks amazing on with them) This has been my holy grail go-to eyeliner for years, but I hated because it wasn't waterproof and would come off 1/2 way through the day. Then I put it over the shadow insurance and it literally did not move, bleed, anything all dang day! It's perfect together.  The best thing about this eyeliner? It's around $5!! Heck yes!

What's your favorite products on the go?

MIA

November 12, 2014

Sorry I've been MIA for the last week or so, but I've been pretty sickly lately.
Without going into too much let's just say blogging on strong pain meds isn't the smartest idea, so I'm just going to post a little quick diddy here and will start back posting once I'm up and around again.

Last night Bella had a Veteran's Day show at school. The Hubs, Grandma, Grandpa, & I all went to see and cheer her on and she did awesome! Here's some pics from it. So proud of this little girl!!
She's so lucky to have such amazing grandparents!
They show up to every show, every game, etc.

These kids did amazing last night and got big cheers from the entire crowd!
Way to go 2nd graders!

The 3 of us after her show.
Bare with me, I had no makeup on and feeling not so great, but wouldn't have missed her show for the world!

Weekend Wrap Up

November 3, 2014

Halloween weekend is finally over...

Friday was crazy and Bella was exhausted and asleep by 10 p.m.
We had a great time trick or treating and celebrating with friends.

Saturday morning Bella had her playoffs for flag football. They played their hearts out and Bella almost made a touchdown! We were so proud, but unfortunately they lost 14-12. Tough game but the Texans did amazing and we're so proud of them!
Bella and her coaches!
She's already talking about playing again in the Spring!

My sweet girl was so proud of her newest trophy!
All her trophies are proudly displayed on our mantle.

Sunday we relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Bella wasn't feeling 100% so we got her into the after hours doctor and got her on some antibiotics.
By the end of the day she was still moving slower than normal, but feeling much better.

It was super chilly out all weekend (God Bless America it is finally not sweltering!) so I made my mom's Sausage and Mushroom soup for dinner.
It was delicious and a perfect way to end the weekend!

Tis Halloween Time Matey!

October 31, 2014

Today is Halloween and one of my favorite holidays.
I love seeing kids dressed up, handing out tons of sugar high inducing candy, and letting the kids run wild after too much trick or treating/candy binging.
Good times!

This year Bella is going as a pirate princess.
This will literally be the 1st Halloween costume she's ever worn that's a DRESS.
How the heck did I talk her into that?!

Well seeing as we spent an ungodly amount for her to be a "Pirate of the Caribbean" pirate princess on the Disney Cruise, we told her she has to dress up as it again for Halloween!
Score one for Momma!
Cutest mean pirate princess in history right there people!

I might even get into the pirate spirit and wear my pirate garb from the cruise as well...
we'll see!

So have a happy & SAFE Halloween!!

And for your enjoyment here's a throwback picture from Halloween 2009.
Bella was 2 years old and we were youngins as well!

Man I look terrible with really dark hair!
Never again!

Few Things

October 30, 2014

Few things to catch up on in our house...

1) Bella's 2nd Grade Picture

Goodness where did this beautiful girl come from?!
She's always been absolutely beautiful inside and out, but when did she get so big?
How is she in 2nd grade already??
Love that darn kid so much it makes my heart hurt.

2) Halloween
Tomorrow is finally Halloween and we've got way too much planned. Bella was invited to a pre-trick or treating party by one of her friends we're going to go to, then trick or treating with all the kiddos in our neighborhood, followed by the parents sitting out letting the kids wear off their sugar highs, while handing out more candy & relaxing! Whew!!

3) Football
Bella's last flag football game(s) are Saturday. It's the playoffs so if they win, they play for the Super Bowl and if they loose their out... we'll see how it goes!
The Longhorns play rivals Texas Tech this weekend in Lubbock and it's going to be a damn good game! Both teams pretty much suck this year, but the hatred they have for each other will make for a perfect Saturday evening football game! Hook 'Em Horns!

4) Fall Weather
I think we're finally starting to get Fall weather here in Austin! Woo-hoo!!
Lately we've been in the high 80's/low 90's and it sucks!!
We had a cool front come in yesterday and the high for this weekend is mid-70's!!
Hallelujah!!!

Happy Halloween!!

Weekend Wrap Up

October 27, 2014

This weekend was so much fun for our whole family.
Saturday morning Bella had her last regular season flag football game.
Eventhough they lost (again) they played so well and fought so hard, we were all proud of them!

Saturday afternoon we went the the YMCA Halloween Festival at the Dell Diamond.
Other than being unbelivably hot, it was such a great fun family time!
Bella had a blast!

She climbed walls...

Bounced on these crazy things and figured out how to do back flips on it!
Scary for momma, fun for her!

Saturday night we took it easy and went to eat after the festival, then home to watch shows and relax.
I think we were all asleep by 9!

Sunday we celebrated my SIL, Sandra's upcoming baby!
Baby Reyes is due in Jan and we can't wait to meet him/her!

My MIL, SIL, & me

These girls are amazing people and we have the best time when we all get together!

We had it at Z Tejas in Avery Ranch and it was delicious!
