Post Work Out Ideas

I'm not a doctor and have no medical experience but these are some of the things I do after working out to help me recover quickly.

1) EAS AdvantEDGE Carb Control Shake - We get these at our local HEB and they really don't taste too bad, especially when you get it right from your fridge after a run in the sun & heat. They're only 100 calories per drink and have 17 grams of protein to help your muscles recover. I think we pay maybe $4.00 per 4 pack so they're pretty inexpensive as well.
2) Hard Boiled Eggs - The Hubs usually comes home after we run together and boils us 2 hard boiled eggs each. They are an excellent source of protein and I love them with salt & pepper.
(Just as a note, we do either one above but not together! That's a little too much for me!)
3) Stretching - I feel like this is kinda a duh statement, but there are some times after I run that I get home and just want to plop myself down and drink a gallon of water, which I've done a few times before and paid for it the next day. You really need to stretch those achy muscles to keep them from tightening up and getting sore.
4) Ice Cold Shower - This one gets me every time. I like my steaming hot showers especially after running, but cold water helps your muscles heal quicker. So usually I just shoot super ice cold water on my legs before getting into the shower.
5) Corganics Relief Cream - If all else fails and you're still in pain, this stuff is my favorite. My Dad actually gave me a bottle of it when I was having my shin problems & it's a miracle! It's like it freezes your muscles and takes the pain virtually away. I can't say enough about how amazing this cream is!
