My Favorites

May 30, 2014

I have lately become obsessed with finding the perfect bikinis before we leave for vacay. I have literally gone to almost every store I can think of whether in person or online trying to find and here's my favorites so far. (I've bought most if not all of these already, so you know I love them!)
Bikini Mixer swim from Victoria's Secret.
Okay people let me tell you my OBSESSION with Victoria's Swimsuits... it borders on crazy!
I own probably around 5 VS swimsuits & just ordered the one above yesterday. The bottoms are on back order till mid-June, so I figure I'll just wear one of my black bottoms with the top in SPI.
AE Macrame Bikini

I got this one when they were having an amazing sale at American Eagle & have worn it a few times since. I friggin love this bikini! The back is a little hard to figure out and tighten, but once it's on it's comfy & so freakin cute!!

(Target - Old)
I bought this one last year (sorry!) from Target and love it. I've noticed I love black bikini's. The Hubs told me over the weekend I need to get some color in my swimsuits & it's so true! This one is actually pretty comfy as well!

May 29, 2014

Summer is my favorite time every year. Not just cause I'm named after it, but also because I get to lounge around in bikinis, cut off shorts, tanks, & my personal favorite... flip flops.
I dream daily about laying on a beach somewhere soaking up the sun with a drink in my hand. In less than 2 weeks that dream will come true!
We're going with The Hub's whole family to South Padre Island.
It's an annual trip we all take together & it's really what we look forward to every year!

I don't know what it is, but being near a beach makes me happier than most anything else I can think of.
Whenever we take vacays The Hubs & I make sure it's somewhere warm and tropical.
We'll be going on another Disney Cruise to the Carribean the end of the summer as well with stops in Cozumel, Jamaica, Bahamas, & Cayman Islands.
Bella has picked up our love of the beach and keeps asking for updates to when we leave. Thanks to Grandma, she is all set for it! (For Easter she got 2 new swimsuits, a kite, munchies, a beach towel, & a new beach bag just for her!)
It's just something about the summer time we love!

Workout Wednesday

May 28, 2014

I freakin love this!
We all need motivation sometimes!
Look I ran 4.5 miles last Saturday morning which I was excited about, but haven't ran again.
(I'm running today and doing the CX Works class!)
I ate like shit & didn't workout or run on Sunday and Monday due to being lazy & the holiday, but it's time to get back to it and get my ass working out again.
I have less than 2 weeks before I'm laying on a beach in SPI so it's definitely needed!

Get up, get your ass in gear, & work out!

Family Pictures

May 27, 2014

Let me tell you how often we here at the Munoz Household take family pictures together... the last time Bella was 2 years old! Seriously people we suck at taking family pictures and needed some new ones badly!!
That's when we contacted Kelli Faltasek at Smilestone Photography
The girl is an AMAZING photographer!
(She's also a close friend, so we were so comfortable with her taking our pictures!)
Here's some of my favorites:

OMG aren't they amaze balls?! We were so excited when we we received them! If you're in the Austin area and want some awesome photography, definitely check her out!

May 26, 2014

Last Wednesday my friend Kellie got me to try a new class. Of course I was excited to try it, but we decided to run before the class started. So I did 3 miles (she's faster than me and did 4 damn girl! Ha!) and then we went to the class.
It's called CX Works
It's only a 30 minute class & trust me that's all you need. It's pretty hardcore and works your entire body! Maybe because we were already somewhat tired from running, or maybe because the class kicked our asses, but we both were sore for days!!
Here's the stats on this class:
It's definitely a tough class, but we've decided every Wednesday night we're going to run then hit the CX Works class. Help build muscle before vacays start!

I love wearing a cute workout tank to the gym. I don't know what it is, but for some odd reason if I look cute I feel better about working out. It's like I want to keep running which honestly is weird, but that's me!
Here's 3 workout tops I'm wanting...
1) Forever 21 - I adore the mint color plus the cute back is killing me. And since it's from Forever 21, you know it's inexpensive! Score!
2) Old Navy - The cut outs on this tank are what makes it cute. It comes in 3 colors & doesn't show off too much tummy!
3) ETSY - I love these tanks that have cute sayings on them & this one fits me to a T!

Workout Wednesday

I've always been one to believe that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.
Yes some things are insanely harder than others, but it's your want that makes the difference.
I always said that I could never become a runner. I gave numerous excuses why I couldn't or didn't want to run.... for years.
But I finally got off my ass and tried it and now I love it.
I finally reached 4 miles last Saturday morning & felt like I was an actual runner. I didn't hurt after, sure my legs were sore but nothing that killed me.
Absolutely nothing is impossible if you put your heart and soul into it!

This is me.. (Not literally, I wish my stomach was that flat!)
But this is me, this is who I am and what I want to do with this blog.
I am constantly trying to think of new ways to motivate people to keep going.
To realize that even though your a Mom, have a full time job (or even harder... stay at home mom's!), you can still figure out 1 hour every other day to run.
It's in every one of us, you just have to find it!

Are You Ready?

May 20, 2014

Yesterday HBO put out a new trailer for the last season of True Blood.
Let me preface this whole post by saying I've been a huge fan of True Blood since it started. Great characters, awesome acting, and an amazing story line.
Except for last season...
It was terrible to me. The plot was just straight up bad. So I'm hoping this last season makes up for it! And by the way the 1st trailer looks it just might!
Are any of y'all True Blood fans?

Weekend Wrap Up

May 19, 2014

This weekend was another great one for the books. We really had the best time!
Saturday, Eric went to cheer his friend on at the Spartan Race. He was supposed to run it but had to back out last minute due to a broken toe. (OUCH!) So while he was gone most of the day, Bella & I had a girl's day!
We went and chopped off 3" of her hair, because it was getting way too long & thick for the summer time. She looks adorable!
After we finished we ran a few errands then went to see Rio 2. I have to be honest and say it definitely wasn't her favorite movie ever, but we had fun! Saturday night we went to our neighbor's house for a bbq & to watch the Preakness. So much fun to catch up with everyone!
Sunday morning we were up bright & early to get our family pictures taken. Our good friend, Kelli is an amazing photographer so I can't wait to see how they turned out!
After pics we ran around and cleaned everything in sight. It was so nice to have a clean home, car, and yard! We finished the evening laying out by the pool with all of our neighbors then having the best shrimp boil!

Overall a fun weekend! Here's to the upcoming Memorial Day!

Love Her

May 15, 2014

I saw this on this morning and realized how much I love Blake Lively! Yes I watched Gossip Girl until it ended and always loved how she dressed, but lately I've been loving everything she wears. (And her amazing hair!)
I love that she does't try to show too much skin but still looks sexy & beautiful! The GIF below shows that to a T. She's perfection on every level...
Blake Lively Gucci gown Cannes Film Festival
Oh and I forgot to mention, I'm in love with her hubby!!
(Really though, whose not?!)

Workout Wednesday

May 14, 2014

I feel like as a woman we never believe any of these things about ourselves, but completely see them in each other. Especially close friends, we see everything they really are... smart, beautiful, strong, etc. but yet fail to see these amazing things about our own selves.
I "compete" with a lot of friends every month on running. I hate that I only ran 3 miles one day and they ran 6. I hate that I have to stop sometimes because my asthma is kicking my ass when I know they can run without slowing down the whole time. Then one of them reminds me how far I've gotten in such little time. They remind me that I'm stronger than I think I am.
I love that I have such amazing awesome friends who lift each other up & cheer for each other even though we're trying to out run each other. It makes the journey 10x easier. My friends are all smart, witty, gorgeous women who deserve to think of themselves that way. All women are!
So stop the constant battle with yourself and start seeing you as others see you.
Open your eyes and mind to think that you are beautiful, smart, funny, etc.
Because all women deserve to feel beautiful every single day.

May 13, 2014

Have you ever wanted something so bad & it finally happens? That was me this weekend. I've been wanting (praying!) that I can fit into a bikini and actually look cute for the past year. Every time I put one on last summer I felt naseaus because it looked terrible on me. I stuck to one pieces pretty much the whole summer and then covered up completely all winter.
Sunday we went to the pool with a ton of neighbors & I wore my new bikini. People I got compliments!! Wha?! Yep and it felt awesome to know that I'm finally getting to the size/fit that I have been dreaming of/working my ass off for. The running, eating better, weights, etc is finally paying off!
Now I won't say I'm there at my goal yet, but I'm getting close & it feels awesome. It really makes going to the gym a little easier knowing it's actually working. Hallelujah!

Weekend Wrap Up

May 12, 2014

This really was one of the best weekends we've had in a long time! Friday night was pretty low key for us, we just had dinner and relaxed.
Saturday morning we went to the gym, then showered & went shopping. We ended up going to 2 different malls trying to find what we needed so when we were done we went to PF Changs for lunch. Bella had never tried using chopsticks before but loved it. She also found out she loves egg drop soup! It was pretty funny to watch her trying new things!
Saturday night we met Eric's family for an early Mother's Day dinner. We had a great time catching up and laughing! Bella had a kid's night out at the ymca so we met up with friends and had a mini date night. (We had to leave at 10 to get her so it was an early night for us!)

Sunday The Hubs & Bella surprised me with brunch at Z Tejas! It's my favorite place for brunch and it was delicious! I even got a mimosa with my meal which was yummy!

We met up with all our neighborhood friends Sunday afternoon at the pool & ended up letting all the husbands grill fajitas for dinner. It was a blast and dinner was delicious! We really do have the best neighbors ever!
Overall an amazing weekend!

Happy Mother's Day

May 9, 2014

Just incase it slipped your mind, Sunday is Mother's Day!
I'm not sure our plans because The Hubs is keeping it all a secret from me & he's trained Bella well enough to not spill the beans! But I know it'll be awesome whatever they have planned.
I hope every Mom, Grandma, etc. have a wonderful Mother's Day!

May 8, 2014

I feel like I have been sucking at posting anything lately mainly because my schedule has been pretty jam packed with no room to breathe. So I figured I would clue y'all into what's been going on.
So about 2 weeks ago I was getting ready for bed & The Hubs was getting ready for one of his midnight (9 p.m. but close enough!) runs when I get a call from his mom. I was able to catch him before he left and we got the devastating news that his grandfather had passed away. I sat with him for hours afterwards as we talked about his Grandfather and he shared old memories of them together. The following Monday we packed up and headed to Port Lavaca, TX for his funeral. Eventhough it was a sad time, it was really great getting to see all his family again.
A few days after we got back we went to The Hubs Friday night soccer game. He's on an indoor soccer team and looks forward to playing every Friday. I seem to be one of the only wives that goes to watch and it's a little boring for me, but he asks me to go so I headed over. About 15 minutes after I got there he got hurt...
Yeah he walked over to where I was sitting and informed me (quite calmly actually!) that he thinks he broke his big toe. Ouch! About 4 hours later he ended up like this...
Note: The smile is due to pain killers :)
So all last weekend we pretty much laid low and let him recoup on the couch. He's out for 3-4 weeks from any real sports which also means no Spartan Race in a few weeks. To say it's been a rough time for him is an understatement.
As for me I'm playing housewife quite nicely except when gym time comes around & then I'm outta there! It's been a hectic few weeks, but we're finally getting back to normal. Or as normal as we can possibly be!

Workout Wednesday

May 7, 2014

I've said it time and time again, and with my whole heart I believe it. You don't need weight loss pills or miracle drugs to help you loose weight.
You need heart, the want, determination, & a good pair of running shoes.
People who haven't jogged in years can literally grab some workout shoes and start walking. You don't even have to run yet, just start with walking down the street and back. Bring some water (I drink all my water bottle when I run!) and get moving.
I started with run/walking less than a mile in December & now run around 3 miles every other day or so. Build it up & don't be hard on yourself if you didn't make it as far as you wanted. There's always tomorrow.
When I started running, every.single.time I'd get done my legs felt like lead. It hurt to climb my stairs at home to shower, but every day it got just a teeny bit easier to take. Now I can usually run and feel great after I'm done. Sure I take days off, Monday night I was exhausted and went home and chilled all night instead of running, but I went back and ran again last night.
So don't expect some diet pill to make you look good. Take it on yourself and make yourself look good! It makes getting to your goal that much more satisfying!

This is Love

May 5, 2014

I have become obsessed with a shampoo & conditioner. Now I've heard of Moroccan Oil many times and how amazing it is, but I've never tried their shampoos & conditioners before. That's until Amanda used them on me last time I went.  The smell was amazing, but more than that it softened my just highlighted hair like nothing!
The mositure repair is a miracle worker & I'm in love with both the shampoo and conditioner! Halleljuah!! Ha!

Needed: Running Shorts

May 2, 2014

This past weekend we hit around 95 degrees and it's not even May yet. Which means I need to invest in running shorts asap. My capris just ain't cutting it anymore... so I found a few pairs I definitely want to try!
Nux USA Emma Drawstring Shorts
These look fabulous for running. I like that you can make them shorter or longer depending on your tastes. They seem super comfy as well.
Y'all know my obsession love for anything Nike & these shorts are swoon worthy. They're short enough to run in, but not overbearingly tight. Plus they have the dri-fit technology that is amazing when you're on a long run. I'd probably go for a black pair over this peachy color, but either way I love those damn shorts!
The thing I love most about these is how soft and lightweight they are. (And that they're only $25!) They come in tons of colors & have the moisture wicking so that you stay cool while you run. Score!
What's your favorite running shorts?
