We're Leaving... On a Jet Plane

August 28, 2014

{all photos via}
Tomorrow we are leaving on a jet plane and heading to fabulous Orlando, Florida!
We set sail Saturday on a 7 day Western Carribean Cruise on the Disney Fantasy.
I might have talked about it already here a few (hundred) times now, but dammit if we're not excited and soooo ready for it!
So for the next week I'll be seeing this...
And not once getting on a computer, IPhone, IAnything, and definitely NOT blogging!!
I shall post a 150 pictures of vacay when we get back and settled, but I don't want to even think about that yet!
Have a great Labor Day Weekend!
I shall be in Cozumel or Jamaica or Grand Cayman Islands celebrating with y'all!

True Blood Finale

August 27, 2014

WARNING: Spoilers Ahead! Stop reading if you haven't watched the series finale of True Blood!
Now that that's out of the way let's proceed...
Let me begin by saying when I finished watching the True Blood series finale Sunday night I was pissed!
Did I think they were going to wrap it up in a bow and hand it over? Yes
Did I realize that bow would be long and boring?! No!
The Hubs and I are die hard True Blood fans.
Never missed a show. Seriously.
But WOW was the finale boring or what!
I knew what was going to happen before it happened and that's not True Blood style at all.
Now this made me laugh and feel like it was the good 'ole TB we're used to...
Gosh I'll love and miss Eric. He was my favorite!
I love how him & Pam ended up that was pretty perfect for them.
Here's the things that pissed me off...
Jessica and Hoyt getting "married" the day after he met her.
The wedding itself was beautiful & I love how Sookie could read Bill's thoughts for the 1st time, but it seemed a little nuts to me that they decided to get married after he couldn't remember her at all.
Sookie's Husband
Why couldn't we have seen his face?
Obviously he's human and probably never once a character in the show, but at least show us who she ended up with.
How everyone got together and magically stayed together in the end
Every.Single.Person that got together in the last season ended up staying together... so not like Bon Temps.
I did love that Jason is a daddy to 3 kiddos now & that Sookie is pregnant. She finally got her future she always wanted. I hated seeing Bill die, but loved the way they killed him off.
Overall I am really just sad to see them all go.
What the heck am I going to watch on Sunday nights now?!

August 26, 2014

Today my daughter starts the 2nd Grade.
I asked The Hubs after we dropped her off, where the time went?!
I swear we're not old enough to have a 2nd grader (HA!)
But more than that, she's still my little baby I used to hold in my arms and help fall asleep.
Now she's starting 2nd grade and turning 8 this coming year.
Wow time flies by in the blink of an eye...

Happy 1st day of school Beautiful!
May you have a great school year filled with love, laughter, and learning.
We love you more than you can imagine.

Weekend Wrap Up

August 25, 2014

This weekend was quite the rollercoaster for our little family.
Saturday morning I went for a run, and when I got done my phone let me know I hit green!
So incase you're wondering wth I'm talking about, this is my Nike Run App. I started pretty much in February running and hit 250 kilometers as of Saturday!!
I was so freakin excited!

Saturday afternoon one of Bella's best friends had his birthday party at the pool.
She was so excited so we ended up getting there super early.
Here's a pic of us leaving for the party... notice the awesome cutie below!

Let me be honest here though...
1/2 way during the party my kid freaked out, started yelling at the kids at the party & ran away.
No joke it was embarassing!
Thank goodness The Hubs was there to drive her around and calm her down.
She ended up going back to the party and apologizing to everyone, but Momma didn't see that because I was so stressed, I went shopping at Target.
I shop when I'm stressed... it's not a good thing!
Saturday night I had a girl's sushi and wine night with my bestie, Sonia & her sister.
We had the best time laughing and catching up with each other.
I actually somehow didn't take any pictures the whole time cause we were having too good a time!
Sunday we did some last minute vacay shopping and errands, then headed to the pool.
It went much better today & the kids had a great time.
Just as we were heading back home, I found out I got nominated by my cousin Renzo for the ice bucket challenge...
So we had a cooler full of ice & it got dumped on me.
I nominated The Hubs, and some friends and they did it too!
Bella got in on the action and had a blast!
Here's The Hubs dousing me...

Bella got her share...
Overall a great day!
I'll be somewhat posting this week and completely off from Thursday on.
Vacay time!!!
Happy Monday!

Few Things I've Learned

August 20, 2014

Since I'm now pushing close to my mid-30's (ouch!) I'm learning a lot. And by a lot I mean I'm learning that my body isn't as awesome as it was in my 20's. I may work out a hell of a lot more than I ever did back then, but here's 2 things I've learned lately about myself.
Holy hell hangovers suck.
I never really got them too badly in my 20's but my 30's they like to roar their ugly head any time I have more than a few beers in one sitting.
It keeps me from drinking anywhere near what I used to, but when I decide to try and party like a rockstar, my body likes to remind me heavily the next morning that I'm an idiot.

This is pure BS!
I run a lot and it still hurts A LOT!!
I get weird pains all over my arms, legs, back, etc. even on days I don't get a run in.
I've been saying lately I rarely ever get sick, but man do I get hurt all the damn time!
Hello old as hell body... you suck!

It's Coming...

August 19, 2014

This time of the year is like Christmas to me.
The start of college football!
Specifically... Texas Longhorns football!
You know we are diehard lifetime Longhorn fans and we're gearing up for the new season!
So here's the up and downs of the upcoming season...
1) We have a new Coach Charlie Strong. He is a take no prisoners type coach & that's exactly what we need around these here parts.
2) We will be over the ocean for the 1st game of the season... Eric's figuring out how we can watch it on our phones. Yup that's what our vacay is starting with.
3) The AP rankings came out over the weekend and guess where UT is?! Oh let's say not in the top 25 at all...
yeah that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
So we shall see how we do... in less than 2 weeks...
Hook 'em Horns!!

Weekend Wrap Up

August 18, 2014

This weekend was all about the birthday celebrations.
The Hubs and I went with some of our close friends to Driftwood, TX for a little beer and wine tasting. It was a blast and we had the best time.
The views at Driftwood Estates Winery were amazing! (The wine was great too!)

The Hubs and I at Jester King Brewery

Kellie & I at the bewery trying not to die of heat exhaustion!
(It was 104!!!)

Starting Over...

August 15, 2014

I'm going to be perfectly honest here... I've fallen a few times off the wagon.
The workout wagon to be exact.
There's been a few weeks lately (and not all at once!) that I've decided that laying around and relaxing was better than running & working out.
I didn't have the motivation to get my ass up and go to the gym in 103 degree heat.
I can make up hundreds of excuses not to go to the gym & trust me I did!
So this past Sunday we went to the pool.
When I went to get into my swimsuit I looked in the mirror and realized I'm backtracking.
My body may not be gaining weight (thank the good Lord!)
But the muscle definition was going away & my thighs were getting back the way they were.
I HATED seeing myself going backwards.
All that hard work was going right down the drain.
And to top it off I'll be in the Caribbean in less than 3 weeks!
Time to get my butt (and thighs!!!) in check!
So I've been back at the gym almost daily running and lifting.
I've cut out the wine except for my bday and weekends.
No week drinking until we get on the cruise ship!
I just can't go back to where I was.
I hated the way I looked and was praying to change.
I hope to never be where I was and to keep realizing that I can't get lazy again.
So here's to gym every other day... even on vacay!

August 14, 2014

Today is my 33rd birthday.
It seems weird for me to be saying that I'm turning 33, when it feels like I just turned 30 a few months ago.
I feel like the old people who often talk about how fast the years fly by.
My mom used to tell me to slow down and enjoy the days because they start going by much faster the older I get.
How true that statement is Mom!
(I know you're looking down happy and yet laughing at me at the same time saying "I told you so!")
This past year was a doozie for me in many ways:
*I found out I had a tumor on my thyroid.
*I proceeded to go through some of the worst pain in my life aka a biopsy on said tumor.
*I lost and made some very good friends!
*We got to plan our summer vacations
*The Hubs and I celebrated 9 years of marriage & 14 years together.
*Bella celebrated her 7th birthday
*I had surgery to remove said tumor in October.
*Getting to go on one of the 3 vacays we've been planning.
*I bought my dream car exactly the way I wanted it!
And eventhough it was a pretty tough year for me health wise, it was a great year overall and one I'll never forget.
So to celebrate the big 33 we're heading to Driftwood, TX this Saturday for some yummy Italian food, wine, bbq (Salt Lick look it up, best bbq in the USA!), oh and more delicious wine!
So here's to 33...
May it bring me much joy and happiness throughout the entire year...
And here's to hoping for absolutely no hospital visits at all!

My New Holy Grail Product

August 13, 2014

Are you a fan of Youtube beauty gurus? I am the biggest fan and end up watching way too many of them talk about their holy grail products.
So what's a holy grail product you ask?
Simple... it's something you can't live without.
And I have found mine...
So here's my problem. I've had a dark spot on my cheek for forever. It never bothered me, and I never really tried to get rid of it. That's up until I went home and both my siblings lovingly pointed it out to me and asked if I was okay.
Yeah hello wake up call!
I'm thinking something about being in the sun so often this summer has made it worse and more visible.
So about 2 weeks ago I bought this because HEB had a good sale going on for it.
Thank you HEB for having that sale because I have fallen in love with this damn bottle!
My skin just looks better all around.
I noticed Monday night after I washed my face that my skin looked brighter and more vibrant.
I like the way my skin looks WITHOUT makeup... that never happens for me!
My dark spot has faded ever so slightly, but I think it will if I keep up this lotion.
It's awesome!
I use it twice a day, before I put on my lotion and makeup and right before I go to bed.
Seriously, I haven't been paid a dime for this & I bought it with my own moula and will keep buying it! It's freakin awesome!

The Questions:

Get Your Horns Up

August 11, 2014

If you've read my blog for any length of time during football season, you might have a good idea of what a die hard Texas Longhorn fan me & my family are.
Eric graduated from UT as did his Dad and he's praying (daily!) the Bella will go there as well.
So yesterday morning we woke up bright and early and headed to DKR Memorial Stadium to watch The Horns open practice.
To say we were excited is a major understatement!

We had a great time, the team looks awesome this year, & we're so excited to see them play!

There's only 1 problem...
The 1st two games of the season we will miss...
Wah wah wah...
We'll be on our cruise out of Orlando and pretty sure they won't show the Longhorn network on it!
We shall be recording them and watching both once we get back to our Beloved Austin!
Hook 'Em Horns!!

August 7, 2014

I'm not one who usually does confessions on my blog, but lately I've been in a rut.
I have a week left until I turn 33 and I have a few things to get off my chest...
1) I AM that friend.
I'm a friggin klutz to the max.
I can trip walking up a flight of stairs, and down...
It's who I am & I'm proud of it!
Bruises and all...

2) It's HOT and sunny every freakin day here, but definitely on Saturday and Sundays this fits me to a T!
Give me a Miller Light on a patio with queso & I'm in Heaven!

3) I just ordered these adorable heels for Vegas!
Granted I still have 2 months till Vegas happens but when I saw these at Macy's I knew they would be mine in the near future... (and by near future I meant within minutes of trying them on!)

4) This is so me it's not even funny!
If I start my sentence with "That's funny because..." you best know I'm over the top pissed off at you.
5) Oh hell yes we have 3 weeks from tomorrow for our next vacay!!
This week has kicked my ass and all I can keep thinking is Lord please get me on that ship as soon as possible before I loose my mind!!

Weekend Wrap Up in Dallas

August 4, 2014

This past weekend we went to my hometown of Grand Prairie.
I was born and raised there but moved away the day after I turned 18!
We went back to celebrate mine & my nephew Austyn's birthdays.
It was so much fun to catch up with my whole family again.
My sister and I snuck away for a little sister bonding time,
And ended up at The Daquiri Shoppe.
Oh Heaven help us it was awesome!
It's a New Orleans style daquiri place and wow was it yummy!
We had a drink there, and decided not to get any to-go...
Bad idea! We should have brought some home for the rest of the family!
Anyway, my dad made delicious Puerto Rican dinner for us and had a yummy birthday cake as well!
It was an awesome weekend!
How was your weekend?

August 1, 2014

Something else I've noticed about the summer time...
My posts are starting to only be about foods I love.
Here's another one...
Brookside Dark Chocolate Pomegranite
Oh hell yes these babies are addicting...
Even Bella's in love with them. I had to buy her her own bag this weekend because she ate 1/2 of mine last week.
There's no pits in them, because honestly that was one of my worries, nope just sweet, chocolatey goodness.
And for all my health concious lovers out there here's the deets:

I found them at HEB but I think you can pretty much find them anywhere.
Any foods you're in love with right now or is it just me?!
