Weekend Wrap Up

September 29, 2014

We had a fabulous weekend. Saturday Bella had her 2nd flag football game and they ended up winning! She did great and all the kids did awesome! Go Texans!
We got to the football game early and decided it was time for a family picture in the car... yeah we are those people!

After the game we took Jayce and Bella to lunch, Bella's grandpa's house, and stopped on the side of the road for the pic above. Gotta love Austin & their love for the Horns!

Saturday night we surprised Peter with a birthday party.
We grilled out and had the best time with everyone!
The guys even got some Apple Pie Moonshine!

Sunday was a total family day. We went shopping, watched some football, and then took Bella to the park. There's a great little area there to dip your feet into the river so she did just that. I love this picture of her.

After the park we came home and all 3 of us made Chicken Enchiladas!
They were delicious!
Great weekend overall.

Best Week Ever

September 23, 2014

For me, the start of the Fall shows is the best week ever (next to Christmas and my birthday!).
As I'm sitting here writing this post, I'm watching the new show call Gotham. So far it's pretty damn good. The lead actor in the show is an Austinite Ben McKenzie and he's a cutie. I'm also biased because I love anything Batman.

Another show I'm so excited to check out is How to Get Away with Murder.

Holy hell I love anything Shonda Rimes puts out and this show looks amazing. I also realized that the show's name is not only extremely long, but anyone who looks in my Internet browsing history might get a wee bit scared! (ha!)

As for shows returning I'm excited about I have quite a few... Sleepy Hollow, Big Bang, Vampire Diaries, Reign, The Originals, Grey's, but above all.... SCANDAL!

So welcome to my favorite week of the year... happy tv watching!

Gameday Gear

September 19, 2014

It's almost Fall y'all and what does that mean to every single person in Austin?!
Texas Longhorn Football!!!
(HOOK 'EM!!)

So I'm bringing you my favorite gear to wear or hold (cause I'm diehard koozie crazy!) for that awesome game time! This week we have a bye-week but I'll still be sporting them!

Here's my top 3 picks all from ETSY!

1) Tank - I actually own this exact tank and got it from her off ETSY. She made it exactly how I wanted it & I love wearing it every weekend! Once it finally cools down around here I'll throw a cardigan over it and love it all Fall!

2) Hat - I'm so not a baseball cap wearing type girl, but I absolutely love this hat! This with my tank, skinny jeans, & boots would be the absolute perfect outfit every Saturday!

3) Koozie - I'm a Texas girl and Texas girls love their koozies! I actually own like over 30 koozies but always want more. I love that this is monogrammed and Longhorn in one. It's like a Southern Girl's dream!

What's your favorite game day gear?

10

September 18, 2014

10 years ago today I married the love of my life.
We met freshman year of college and have been inseparable ever since.
It's crazy to look back and see how much our lives have changed since we said I do.
No matter what we've always stuck together and made sure our marriage came 1st in our lives.
God blessed us with a beautiful baby girl 3 years into our marriage and overnight our love for each other got insanely stronger.

We've had bumps along the way, but through it all we've stayed strong to our values and to each other.
This man has made me laugh when all I wanted to do was cry.
He's everything I looked for in a husband and more.

I feel like a broken record when I talk about us, because honestly I am.
I know the love we have for each other will never leave and pray that it only grows as the years go by.

So, Happy 10th Wedding Anniversary Love.

Here's to many more decades with you.

Dying for These...

September 16, 2014

I've been dying for a pair of Frye boots.
I know they are somewhat insane expensive, but I've longed for a pair for quite some time.
We are heading to Vegas soon & the way The Hubs and I go, we bring a certain amount of money and split it in 1/2.
His 1/2 goes to him gambling and betting the whole time.
Mine go to handbags and shoes...
So here's the ones I'm looking at and debating which to get.
Let me know which ones you like the best.

These are the original and best selling boot they have. They look a little more cowboy boot to me, but that's not a bad thing seeing as I live half the winter in my cowboy boots.

These are definitely more riding boots than cowboy, and would look amazing with skinny jeans and a sweater.

I think these may be my favorite. The might be too long on me since I have short legs. But if not, these might be the ones I get. I love the buckle design on the side & the color.

This is my other favorite pair. I love the top of these, and think they would be amazing with skinnies or leggings and a sweater.

Which do you love?

Remembering

September 11, 2014

I'll be honest, it pains me every year to post on this day.
What do I say, how do I post what I want to say but still not upset anyone or myself in the process...
So here's what I came up with.
#NeverForget

On Sept. 11, 2001 I was in college at Southwest.
(Now Texas State University)
My roommate Amanda & I had gone out the night before and had one too many margaritas and decided to skip our 8 a.m. classes the next morning.
So yes I was asleep when everything happened.

The Hubs called me when he found out and asked me to turn the tv on.
The terror in his voice woke me up quicker than anything ever had.
I asked him what channel and all he could say was "Any Channel"

What I saw in the next minutes changed my life and every American's forever.
I remember my 1st thoughts were of all my family in NYC and praying to God they were all ok.
I called my parents and they said they couldn't get ahold of anyone over there, so I got the numbers and tried calling myself all day long.

Amanda, Amy, & I went to a church none of us had ever been to and it didn't matter.
We sat with strangers and cried our eyes out that night.
I found out that everyone in my family was okay and I thank God they weren't anywhere near the sight.

I am so thankful that I had some of my best friends and The Hubs there to help comfort each other and be there in our time of need. We might not talk as much anymore to them, but they will always be some of the greatest girls I know.

Last night Bella asked me what 9-11 meant and what happened.
I looked at her and tried explaining delicately as possible what had happened.
Her sweet face just smiled after and said "Thank God you and Daddy were safe!"
And yes thank God we were.

Enough with the Fall

September 9, 2014

I have decided to take an extended break with Pinterest until it cools down below the degree of hell we're having here in Texas.
I'm sick of seeing these amazing fall clothes all over my Pinterest boards and not being able to imagine me wearing them yet...
{via}
Do you know when I'll be able to sport anything like this?!
December... HOPEFULLY!
And there's no way my butt is putting those leather jeans on anyway!
(But wow that's a cute outfit!)

I mean we're still sporting shorts and tanks around here. I went to get a new pair of nice (aka leather) flip flops Sunday and had to go to the clearance section of the 5th store I went to!
The high today in Austin is 97 with a heat index of 102 & I can't find flip flops anymore?!

We're being told we're getting a "cold front" around Thursday that should put us in the mid 80's by the weekend.. hallelujah!!

So until I can manage to put on my skinny jeans, scarf, & cute boots I will not get on Pinterest because it's depressing me... anyone else feel this way?

Oh also they announce the new IPhone 6 today... I'm seriously like a kid on Christmas right about now!! :)

Wrap Up Disney Style!

September 8, 2014

Late Saturday night we got back from our Disney Cruise.
To say it was amazing is an understatement!
We spent 7 days in the sun & sand having a magical time!
Here's a crap ton of pics.
I think I might sit down soon & do a thorough Disney Fantasy recap for anyone thinking of taking their families to Disney.
I would definitely recommend it to every family!

When we 1st got on the ship. Bella looks so tall and old here it brings a tear to my eye!

We 1st toured the ship to get our bearings down before going swimming and to the Sail Away party.

Bella's favorite princess... Tiana!
Tiana was so sweet & Bella just loved talking to her.
She got to meet all 5 princesses and took pictures with each.

At Margaritaville Cozumel.
The slide in the background is part of the restaurant & is free for diners to slide in!

Pirate Night on the ship.
We got Bella a reservation to Bippity Boppity Boutique to become a Princess Pirate!

Mom and Dad got into our best Pirate gear for the event as well!

We have a lot of these silly pictures from that and many other nights on the ship!
We had so much fun the whole time.

Bella & Daisy on Castaway Cay.
(Disney's Private Island in the Bahamas.)
And our favorite stop on the cruise!

Momma and Bella infront of our ship in Castaway Cay!

The Hubs and Bella before we went onto the beach.

Guess who showed up at Serenity Bay?
(Serenity Bay is the adult area of Castaway Cay (18+))
We stayed for all of 1 beer before heading back to the other side... too quiet for us!

We ended the trip at Downtown Disney.
(It's free to get in here and although there aren't any rides, there are tons of restaurants, movies, and stores in it!)

We took well over 200 pictures on the trip, but these are definitely some of my favorites!
We plan on going on another in a year or two again! Can't wait!
