Halloween Confessions

September 29, 2015

Seeing as Halloween is right around the corner, I thought a few Halloween confessions are in order.
1) I love Halloween more than any holiday. Well Christmas and Halloween are tied for my favorite holidays, but there's just something about it that makes me giddy!

2) I decorate the crap out of everything in October. My house is decorated inside and out (we're going to start decorating on Sunday since it'll be October finally!) Even my IPhone is Halloweened (I just made that word up) out. Halloween background, the Halloween movie song as my ringtone, etc. It's an addiction!

3) I absolutely love taking all the kids trick or treating on Halloween night. A bunch of the parents will walk behind all the kids, drinks in hand, and catch up while they go door to door. It's fun for everyone and makes trick or treating a little bit safer.

4) Pumpkin carving is an art in our house. I will print out cool carvings and we will make them. I also love roasting pumpkin seeds afterwards. It's my favorite Fall treat! We usually end up carving numerous pumpkins throughout the month due to the heat and humidity here.

5) I wish we still dressed up for Halloween parties. We haven't been to any in years, but we used to have a blast figuring out what costume to wear. Now Bella gets to pick hers, and I posted previously she chose this one for this year...

Yep she decided to be the guy who comes to get you when you die.
That's my sweet girl!

Happy Halloween!!

Weekend Wrap Up - Graduation Weekend

September 28, 2015

Oh what a weekend!
Beautiful low 90 degree weather, great football game, but more than anything, Bella's graduation to purple belt in karate!
I can't describe how proud I am of that little girl!
But let's start with Friday night like we usually do...

Bella had a sleepover at her friend Connor's house, so Eric & I went to Chili's for dinner (we go all out don't we?!) then came home and caught up on our shows. Woo!

Saturday morning I got up at 6:30 and went for a run where I proceeded to get an insane shin splint & had to pretty much hobble my way back home... better be good by Tuesday to run again!!
After we got Bella and got her showered and ready, we met Grandma & Grandpa, and Bella's cousins at her karate graduation. She did great & we were all so excited to see her advance to purple belt!
Bella getting her purple belt from Master Craig.

With her teachers celebrating her graduation!

Thanks to Grandma, Grandpa, Olivia, & Aidan for coming to watch!
So proud of our little purple belt!!

After graduation we celebrated with lunch at Rudy's BBQ, then came home to watch the Longhorn game, which can only be described AGAIN as a horrible nightmare. Seems to be an ongoing theme here in Austin lately! Great games until the very end of the game and it goes to hell...

Sunday we ran errands and ended up going on a family bike ride Sunday night. Bella loves riding her bike so we thought it would be fun to get out together the 3 of us & get some exercise in at the same time. We did 4 miles on a wonderful Fall evening and it was perfect!

So overall a great family weekend!

September 24, 2015

It's that time again that I can officially obsessed with a new product.
And it's pretty darn good!
Now I'm not a girl who likes to buy the expensive mascara for 2 reasons:
They dry up so fast, I hate going out every 3 months and paying almost $30 for another bottle.
It's mascara! To me, they're all ALMOST alike.
But then I got sent a good sized sample from Sephora of the

And it has changed my way of thinking!
I still curl my lashes before I put it on, but this is the only mascara I've tried that keeps them curled all day long!
Now I'm a die hard waterproof mascara girl, but for some reason this one just gets me.
It's definitely not waterproof, but I haven't noticed much flaking off when I wear it either.
And it comes off easily with makeup remover.

I've heard a lot of hype about Roller Lash and honestly, if it weren't for the sample,
I never would have tried it, but dangit Sephora...
You got me again!!

I Heart Fall

September 23, 2015

One of my favorite YouTubers Jaclyn Hill did a Fall tag on her channel this week and seeing as today is officially the 1st day of Fall, I thought why not copy her?!
Now bear with me in that it's still in the very high 90's here in Austin, so it sure ain't feeling like Fall around these here parts, but I'll do my best!

Favorite Candle:
This one is easy for me, it's Sweater Weather at Bath & Body Works

Favorite Lip Color:
This one is kinda bad for me, I don't wear lipstick. I'm a die hard Chapstick girl & only wear lip gloss on special occasions. I'm boring that way.

Favorite Drink:
Non-Fat Light Whip White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks.
Yeah I'm that girl who has an insane order every time I go...

Favorite Blush:
NYX Baked Blush in Wanderlust. I don't change my blushes up too much in the Fall, because I can't really pull off those deep colors even though I wish I could. So I stick to what works.

Favorite Clothing Item:
This is the easiest one for me... my Frye boots!
Yes they are insanely expensive, but I got them last year and wear them daily in the Fall & Winter.
If you can invest in a great pair of boots, definitely try these!

Favorite Fall Movie:
Hocus Pocus has been my absolute favorite Halloween movie since I was a kid. I still make sure and watch it at least once or twice every Fall... still makes me happy!

Favorite Fall TV Show:
This one I had to choose 2 shows because they are the ones I'm obsessed with.
And to any readers of this blog, it won't be a huge surprise...

Hallelujah it starts back tomorrow night!
I'm all about this show & cannot miss one episode EVER.

People, you know my obsession with this show.
I am literally on the edge of my seat for tonight's premiere.
I watch every YouTube video they show on it, love the characters more than anything!

Favorite Thanksgiving Food:
Turkey. Plain and simple!

Favorite Halloween Costume:
I haven't worn a costume in years, but if I ever have to dress up again for Halloween, it'll be as Flo from Progressive. And make Eric be that bad guy from the other insurance commercials! Cute!!

What's your favorite Fall things?

Must See Shows

September 22, 2015

I have a confession to make...
Like seriously, I might not spend hours watching TV every night, but my DVR is usually full.
And I'm so excited for some new shows to be starting this week!

I have 4 new shows I am definitely going to watch.

Blindspot -
I actually was able to watch the premiere of this show last night when it debuted and I liked what I saw.

A beautiful woman, with no memories of her past, is found naked in Times Square with her body fully covered in intricate tattoos. Her discovery sets off a vast and complex mystery that immediately ignites the attention of the FBI, which begins to follow the road map on her body into a larger conspiracy of crime, while bringing her closer to discovering the truth about her identity.

2 hour premiere tonight! I think I'm most excited to see this one.
I've heard great things about it and although I wasn't a Glee fan, I love Ryan Murphy.

The girls of Kappa House, the most sought-after sorority for pledges, is ruled with an iron fist (in a pink glove) by CHANEL OBERLIN (Emma Roberts, “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” “Scream 4”). But when anti-Kappa DEAN CATHY MUNSCH (Jamie Lee Curtis, “Halloween,” “A Fish Called Wanda,” “True Lies”) decrees that sorority pledging must be open to all students, and not just the school’s silver-spooned elite, all hell is about to break loose, as a devil-clad killer begins wreaking havoc across the campus. An over-the-top, biting satire, SCREAM QUEENS is part black comedy, part slasher flick and a modern take on the classic whodunit, in which every character has a motive for murder…or could easily be the next victim.

I've seen the previews for this show recently and am super excited. It premieres on Sunday night & looks really interesting!

A diverse group of recruits has arrived at the FBI Quantico Base for training. They are the best, the brightest and the most vetted, so it seems impossible that one of them is suspected of masterminding the biggest attack on New York City since 9/11.

The reason I'm so excited for this show is because it's a FAMILY SHOW AT NIGHT!
It kills me that Bella can't watch most of the shows that come on from 7 p.m. and later. We love having family shows to watch and this one will be at the top of our list this season!

The Muppets return to primetime with a contemporary, documentary-style show. For the first time ever, a series will explore the Muppets’ personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, breakups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires.

What are your new favorite shows to premiere this season?

Weekend Wrap Up - Anniversary Edition

September 21, 2015

I could get into all the nitty gritty stuff we did before and after our anniversary dinner, but instead I thought I would try my hand at being on of those bloggers who posts photos of their meals...
Because I'm awesome like that!

Let's start with our selfie I make us take on every single anniversary...
Eric just loves this part...

I love this picture!
This was actually only the 2nd one we took! Score!!

Okay onto the dinner.
We ate at one of our favorite restaurants downtown, III Forks.
Everything they make is delicious!!

For an appetizer we got the Ahi Tuna. I forgot to take a picture since we were starving and scarfed it right up! But man it was good!

I had the Mahi-Mahi plate...

Looking at it now I'm hungry.
It came with shrimp in a yummy sauce over asparagus.
(If you can't tell by the picture!)

Eric had the Pork Chop...

We both were so suprised by the massive size of it!
Eric got through 1/2 at the most and took the rest home.

And the best thing of all...
Chocolate mousse!
And holy crap it was amazing!!!

And the servers were sweet enough to let us sit close to the TV and watch the Longhorns game!
We got to watch the first half there, then went to a wine bar in downtown Round Rock for the 2nd half.
Which although we had a heartbreaking loss, was still one of the best games we've seen them play in quite a while!
We honestly were so proud of our Horns and how well they played!

Sunday we rested and spent the day with our baby girl,
just the way we like it!

11 Years

September 18, 2015

My goodness it's hard to imagine that Eric & I have been married for 11 years today.
That's not a bad thing in the least,
he still makes me laugh on a daily basis,
and is an absolutely amazing father to Bella.

It's just crazy to me that we've been together for almost 16 years now,
and married for 11.
We really are the type of people who love spending time together.
We always make sure and spend every waking moment
together with Bella on the weekends.
We want her to know that love & family come before
anyone or anything else.

Work & friends can wait if it means
we get to spend a day together
enjoying the beautiful weather
and laughing together like we always do.

Eric, thank you for being such an amazing husband to me
and father to Bella.
I love you more now than when we said "I Do"
but less than I will tomorrow.
You've been there for me through everything
imaginable, and for that I am forever grateful.
I hope and pray that our love never ends
& that Bella gets to grow up seeing what
true love actually is.

Happy 11th anniversary Love,
here's to many MANY more.

Catching Up

September 16, 2015

I feel like I only blog about my family and what's going on lately,
but honestly... it's been a busy summer.

Let's start with the best... Bella.
She's insanely funny and makes me and Eric laugh until we cry almost daily!
She steals my phone and makes a video like this...

She made that during lunch with Eric's parents Sunday and made Grandma crack up laughing for a while!
She's still working hard in karate & I'm still determined to get a GOOD picture or video of her in action... this is as good as I've gotten so far.

Thank goodness for IPhone snapping pictures while in motion and not blurring the entire photo at the same time! Woo!

Friday will mark Eric & my 11th wedding anniversary!
Flippin 11 years!! (Not to mention the 5 years before that we dated)
I'll definitely be posting my annual anniversary post Friday & will have maybe a slide show...
we shall see!
I definitely know my favorite picture from that day will be on here...

Dang we were so young and skinny!

We will be celebrating Saturday night at III Forks in downtown Austin!
It's amazing and I might become that blogger that
"takes pictures of her food before she eats it"
that night!

Other than that, it's normal run of the mill stuff around our casa.
Happy Wednesday!
We're 1/2 way there people!

Welcome Autumn

September 14, 2015

To say every blog I've read lately is welcoming in Autumn would be an understatement.
They're all saying how it's gotten chilly especially in the mornings and can pull out their flannel now! While I'm over here thinking the high today is 91 & that's after 2 cold fronts last week!

Yes the boots are on,
but that's because you could hang meat at my office,
I've been wearing them since the beginning of August!

Also, I don't own 1 flannel shirt.
Not one.
That might change this year because they really look comfy, but who am I kidding, I'd probably end up looking like an idiot in one.
Especially here in Austin at the beginning of September.

One thing I do think is right on with this time of the year...

This weekend was awesome for football.
At least if you're either a Longhorn or Cowboy's fan...
or both!
Eric and I both love watching football, although we're definitely more college football fans than the NFL, but we never miss a Cowboys game!

So for us Austinites & mainly all over Texas, it's still the end of the summer,
with a little bit of Autumn thrown in for good measure.
And I'm definitely okay with that!

Weekend Wrap Up

September 13, 2015

I swear this weekend was less than 2 days.
I feel like I just left work and now tomorrow morning I'm heading right back.

Saturday we had a blast! Our niece Olivia turned 3 and we celebrated Frozen style!

Isn't she adorable?!
She had the best time at her party!

Bella went last even though there were bigger kids cause we all knew she'd hit it like crazy and she did! Ended up busting it open!

After the party we went with friends to Urban Air to let the Dads & kids have fun!

Eric even got on the trampoline and did a huge front flip!
I ran over to get video just in time!
I'm not a blogger wife & Momma or anything! Ha!

We finished the day with Pluckers for dinner, then watched our Horns kick some ass against Rice...

Now it's Sunday afternoon and we met Eric's parents for lunch, ran a ton of errands, and are watching NFL Red Zone on TV with a nice glass of Rose!

Before I close I want to say a Happy Grandparent's Day to all of Bella's grandparents.

She has an amazing group of grandparents and is so lucky to have each and every one of them!

So Happy Grandparent's Day Grandma, Grandpa, & Papa!!
We love you all very much!

Weekend Wrap Up - Labor Day

September 8, 2015

Whew what a long weekend!!
We finally filled up our kegerator Friday evening and had a few neighbors over to break it in.
Oh yeah bring on Labor Day weekend and

Saturday morning we ran a ton of errands,
and decided to go check out the Halloween store.
Thinking Bella wanted to be a Disney Character for Halloween,
she ended up choosing this...

Yes she is the Grim Reaper with glowing eyes.
Where did my little girl go?!

Saturday night we had friends over to watch
what we can only assume was a nightmare...
also know as
the Texas Longhorn football team.
What in God's dear grace was that?!
Oh My Word we were so mad!
Moving on...

Sunday was our busiest day by far!
We started out by taking Bella to K1 Speed
for a quick race around the track.

Ran a few more errands, then grabbed a bunch of snacks
for Bella's sleepover.

We ended up having 3 of her friends come over.
We took them to the pool

Ordered pizza,
played with Bob

Made Sundaes

Watched movies,
And finally fell asleep!

Eric & I were exhausted,
but they had a blast!
They were all such good kids
and everyone got along great,
so I can't complain on bit!

Now it's Monday afternoon
And we're about to
take Bella and some other friends
back to the pool!
We will never learn!

Happy Labor Day!
Please help me in remembering the reason
we get to celebrate every year.
To the men and women in our military,
