Praying for Texas

December 28, 2015

I wasn't planning on posting again until 2016,
but the North Texas was devastated on Saturday from tornadoes.
Rowlett, Garland, and other areas of North Texas was hit hard by tornadoes
and many people lost homes, pets, and more than that 11 people lost their lives including a child.

The devastation is amazing and extremely scary & sad.
You can help them by texting REDCROSS to 90999.
It will donate $10 to help these people rebuild their houses and their lives after this tragedy.

We actually drove home from Dallas about 2 hours before these tornadoes hit &
I'm so thankful my family and friends are all okay.

Please help me in praying for anyone affected by these tragedies.

Last Post of 2015

December 16, 2015

So yeah I just realized I haven't blogged in like FOREVER.
Which is totally not me, but seeing as work, life in general, etc. is insane right now,
I refuse to blame myself!
(Typical I know!)

So to catch you up on the going on's in our house...

Bella graduated to blue belt last Saturday!

We are so proud of her & sticking to martial arts for a year now!
She's hoping to be a brown belt by June!

Also, decided to go a little darker and try the whole "balyage hair" thing...
turns out I love it!
Disregard my makeup or lack there of in the picture,
I swear it looked good when we left the house!

In other news, Eric & I both took next week off completely.
Bella's out of school so we decided to have a full week together to celebrate Christmas.
We will be decorating cookies with friends, working on our front yard, and
finishing up by going to our church service Christmas Eve.

Gateway Church here in Austin is amazing!
It's funny how many people we know go there because it's just such an awesome service each and every time we go.
Christmas Eve services are THE BEST!

New Year's this year will be nice and quiet.
We plan on hanging with the neighbors,
letting the kids (and Dad's) shoot fireworks,
and having a great time going into 2016!

So since this will be my last post
(because let's face it, I know posting will not be happening the rest of 2015!)
I want to end it by saying...
We hope everyone has the best Christmas & New Years!
Enjoy it & can't wait to see what 2016 has in store for everyone!

Kicking It Higher Into Gear

December 3, 2015

Does that title even make sense?!
I'm not sure, but it's what my mantra is for the season.
Yep it's the Holidays, which means lots of food, indulging in wine,
& my personal favorite... Fudge! (I'm looking at you Kellie!)
The holidays also means kicking my ass into gear and running more than ever.
I've said it a hundred times on this blog,
For years I thought runners were crazy.
It's tough on your knees (I almost blew my left knee out this past Spring!)
It hurts like hell,
& you never see runners smiling,
so why become a runner?

Because it's freakin awesome!
March 1st will be my 2 year mark for running.
And consistently! (That's the key!!)

I run because lez be honest...
I love food, I love wine, & I refuse to change that.
So I run.
The words above describe me to a T!
Many of you know I have pretty bad asthma, combined with knee, ankle, & shin problems,
so I get asked why the heck I'm still running.
Because it's life to me now.
Because I love getting out there and kicking my old running record.
I love when it's absolutely freezing, but I bundle up and get out there anyway.
Running is honestly the reason I love life so much.
It makes you feel alive.

So from now on, I will be running further than ever before.
And loving every minute!
