I know it's not just me, but it's my blog and I'll complain if I want to.
1) For 3 days straight now I have felt blah. Not sick, not healthy, just blah.
I've felt off... like not 100% here.
And I blame allergies.
They suck all the time in Austin, but lately they've sucked even harder than normal.
I take allergy meds and it's not helping. I'm sneezing my head off, and can't feel normal for the life of me.
2) For the Love of God please end this March Madness crap.
Yes I love sports... that is all sports except basketball.
I hate basketball. I hate watching it, I suck at playing it, and when Eric was on an intermural basketball team in college I was the only girlfriend studying and not cheering her man on the whole time. I don't get a dang about basketball & Eric making me watch March Madness is insane.
Please let's get this stupid thing over with.

Pretty much I just want to gush over my daughter and how awesome she is.
Saturday afternoon she had her 1st karate graduation & she moved up to a yellow belt!
She was so excited she just kept hugging her new belt!
Grandma & Grandpa came to watch and everyone was so excited for her.
She did great the whole graduation.
Afterwards we went out for lunch to celebrate!
Saturday night we headed over to a friend's house to bbq & play Cards Against Humanity. It was so funny and we all had a great time!
The kids ran around with glow sticks playing & watching movies all night.
Sunday we took Bella to see Home which was adorable! She absolutely loved the movie!
Such a great weekend!

I don't usually do a mid week post about how my week has been. Mainly because I do the same boring crap on a daily basis... work all day, run, cook dinner, etc. yeah I know, BORING.
But last night ended up being pretty magical.
It had been a pretty bad day starting out with getting a nail in my tire, spilling coffee on my white shirt, and having a terrible run. I really was at my wits end with the day, until Eric & Bella came home and changed it.
Eric was cleaning out a file cabinet we keep in the garage when he somehow found an old wallet of mine from college. It was a fake Coach (remember college when you couldn't afford anything real?!) and I loved it! I opened it up to find these 2 gems...
I'm saying has anyone seen a Blockbuster card in the last 10 years?! I think this was actually a gift card in which case it never got used and has absolutely no value now! Ahh the memories though!
This picture hit me quite hard actually. It was my Mom's green card from 1969 when she married my Dad. My mom, God Bless Her, was born and raised in Montreal & never really wanted to become an American citizen. Her and my Dad were married for 33 years before she passed away in 2012. I carried this card around for years after she passed and then "lost" it and was devastated. Finding last night after the day I had reminded me that she is still with me and looking over us.
We finished the night out in the best way. Bella now loves Cinderella after seeing the movie, and wanted to go to a Ball. So after dinner and bath, I turned all the lights down, played Disney music on Pandora, and Eric, Bella, & I danced around our living room with blankets on our back as dresses. She was beaming all night. That was magical.

Our weekend mostly started and ended Friday night. We went out with friends to watch March Madness and ended up at a dance hall all night.
It was a great time, and we made up for it Saturday morning!
We had the best time with them. It was a great night!
Saturday we mostly stayed in because the weather was absolutely terrible & we really weren't up for too much anyway! So we watched Guardians of the Galaxy & more basketball. (I'm so tired of dang basketball already & it's not even half way through... Lord help me!)
Sunday was Mommy & Bella morning. I took her to Flix Brewhouse to see Cinderella.
We had the best time watching a magical movie & having brunch and popcorn together. Watching her face light up when the pumpkin turned into a coach & Cinderella meet her prince was absolutely the best thing all weekend.

Happy St Patty's Day!
Tell me what doesn't scream St Patty's Day more than King Ranch Chicken?!
Pretty much all dishes, but I digress...
I got the original recipe here and only changed one thing.
No-Stick Cooking Spray
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
1 can (10-3/4 oz each) condensed cream of chicken soup
1 can (10-3/4 oz each) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 can (10 oz each) Ro*Tel® Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies,
undrained 2 cups chopped cooked chicken breast
12 corn tortillas (6 inch), torn into bite-size pieces
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (2 cups = 8 oz)
Preheat oven to 325°F. Spray 13x9-inch baking dish with cooking spray; set aside.
Melt butter in large saucepan over medium heat.
Add onion; cook and stir about 5 minutes or until tender.
Stir in both soups, undrained tomatoes and chicken.
Layer one-third each of tortillas, chicken mixture and cheese evenly in dish.
Repeat layers twice more.
Bake uncovered 40 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
You know when I post recipes I take step by step pictures which I completely forgot this time. (Amateur), but I remembered to take a pic of the finished casserole on a dish before eating... also didn't happen because the heathens I like to call family grabbed the plates before I could snap one! They were "starving" (hello I fed them 12 hours before... c'mon!) and said it smelled too good to wait. So alast this is the only picture I got to take the entire dinner.
But trust me when I say it's insanely good!

This weekend we packed up and headed back to my hometown. We haven't been back to the Dallas area since Christmas so it was definitely due. We had been promising Bella we would take her to AT&T Stadium to see where the Cowboys play. She's a diehard Cowboy fan like her parents, so it was time. She was in awe the entire tour and loved every minute of it.
Bella & I at Texas Stadium
Look at that smile! She lit up when she got to the field!!
My 2 favorite people infront of one of my favorite Cowboy's locker.
Inside the Cowboy's locker room, we really had the best time!
Afterwards, we headed back to my Dad's and he made the best dinner. We all ate way too much and had a great time catching up.
Now we're sitting here watching whose getting into March Madness... Texas just got in!! Although I don't see them beating Butler, we will proudly cheer for them the whole game! Hook 'Em!
Have a great (Spring Break) Week!
March 13, 2015
You know I love my TV shows and there's quite a few of them that I can't miss every week.
But there's one show that I literally am obsessing over.
I mean I watch youtube videos, any show they interview on, etc.
I love love love this show...
Empire has become such a phenomenon since debuting in January.
I can say that I have never missed and episode and will blare our tv, make sure no one talks during it, and TURN OFF my cell while it's on.
Lucious & Cookie are my absolute favorites on the show & I just love how good they are together.
The drama on it is to a point that I think I know what will happen next, and then get thrown a curve ball during the OMG moment. I swear every time it ends I sit there for a good few minutes with Eric trying to figure out what just happened & what's going to happen next week.
Here's the sad thing... next week is Season 1 finale. I am beyond upset that it's already ending this season & hope Fox makes more shows for season 2. I rarely get addicted to a show but this has got me & I give up on trying to act like I'm not.
March 11, 2015
I know I'm always late on the bandwagon, mainly because I don't have a whole lot of time to sit and listen to a podcast for hours on end. I had planned on listening next time we went on a road trip, but after reading Sarah's post yesterday about it (and yes I did read the spoilers on her page, I love spoilers!) I went on and started listening on my way home from work.
Then I got hooked after the 1st podcast, came home, and listened to the 2nd one during my run. DURING MY RUN... who listens to a podcast when you're running?! Me apparently! But so far it's pretty interesting.
Now I'm only 2 podcasts in, but it gets more interesting the longer I listen. And the crazy thing?! Most of my friends have never heard of it before! Eric asked what I was talking about, along with 2 other friends. Hello people this thing is GOOD!
So to all of you who haven't heard anything about it yet, let me give you a little gist... An 18 year old girl in Maryland goes missing January 1999. They find her body a month later and charge her ex-boyfriend with the murder. He's been in prison ever since. But did he do it?! And if he didn't who did?
So far the most interesting part for me has been to hear about things back then (I too graduated from high school in 1999) and you honestly forget how different things were back then. No texting, most people didn't have cell phones yet, etc. It's so interesting & I'm definitely hooked.
So far I've been listening on their website, but you can also find it on ITunes.
Just don't get mad at me when you get hooked on it!

Is anyone else (and I'm pretty sure everyone will raise their hands!) ready for Spring? We haven't even had it that bad here, but I am so sick of the cold dreary days in Austin lately. Thank goodness the sun is out today, even though it's still pretty chilly!
On Thursday we had a "snow day" where the entire town and surrounding areas shut down for the incoming snow and ice... which never came. Seriously, freezing cold and sunny that day. I being the extremely smart person I am bundled up and went for a run. Did I go to the gym in the warmth and run? Hell no that's not me at all... I ran in 24 degree weather OUTSIDE. When I finished and came inside my teeth were hurting from the cold. That's how cold it was for me.
I know Spring usually brings rainy weather, but here in Central Texas it usually brings beautiful 70 & 80 degree days that everyone loves and enjoys. So if that weather could just hurry it's little butt up and get here, we would all appreciate it.

Things about me:
1) I love wine. Mainly white wines, but getting more and more used to reds.
2) I love flip flops. All kinds, leather, beach, dressy, etc. From March to October the only thing on my feet are flip flops.
3) I watch a lot of TV shows. I really don't have time after work usually to catch my shows, so on the weekends I get to see all of them. Mine favs are Scandal, Reign, TVD, & Empire. I literally can't miss any of those shows ever.
4) I always wanted 2 kids. A boy and a girl. Eric and I both decided to have 2 kids when we 1st got married, some where along the way we realized we were just so happy with Bella that we didn't want to try for any more children. I love big families, but it definitely isn't in the cards for us.
5) I hated running. I honestly never understood runners or why people would run. I started trying to run February 2014 because I kept hearing it was the fastest way to loose weight. Now I run 2 miles or so every other day. I can't imagine not running. I love it... and still hate it!
6) I've almost reached my goal weight. Over the past year I have lost 30 lbs. I changed the way I ate and drank and of course started running. I am so excited to go to the beach and Vegas again this year knowing my hard work is paying off!
7) I love traveling. I've been all over the US, Mexico, Caribbean, & Canada. We go to the beach here in Texas every year and usually try to take a big family vacation as well. We love showing Bella new places & trying new things. Her favorites are Disney Cruise (we've been on 2), New York, & Orlando. My favorite is anywhere that there's a beautiful beach!
8) I've blogged forever. I started this blog in 2007. I wanted our family all over the US, Puerto Rico, & Canada to be able to get on and see Bella growing up. I never thought I'd still be blogging and loving it. I really love posting about things I like, but most of all I love posting about my family still. That's mainly why I kept the blog name the same this whole time. It's all about family.
March 8, 2015
This weekend was so busy and yet so much fun. Saturday morning Eric took my car to get the oil changed, so Bella & I went to the gym. I ran my butt off until I was exhausted. (AKA a great workout)! We came home and got ready then went all over NW Austin shopping & eating. It was a blast!
Saturday night we went to celebrate Jenny's birthday at their casa. Eric tried skeet shooting, Bella busted her lip open, and I had to take care of them both!! Overall a fun and crazy party!
Bella even got to see horses, cows, chickens, etc. and loved it! It was great catching up with everyone & being silly like we all always are together.
Now it's Sunday and we're doing absolutely nothing all day but watching tv and resting. Every once in a blue moon we wake up to realize we're not in our 20's anymore and a night of fun equals lots of rest the next day!
March 3, 2015
Lez be honest right here before I start... I haven't celebrated Spring Break in oh about 13 or so years, so I might not be the best person to blog about this, but hear me out, because what the college kids need to bring on Spring Break, I'll be bringing on my beach vacays coming up & trust me, I know about beach vacays!
Swimsuit - Every girl needs at least one or two adorable swimsuits to wear and show off their hard work all winter long! I just bought this one from Target & can't wait to get it in. Love the grey/pink mix!
Cutoff Jean Shorts - A girl always needs a cute pair of cutoff jean shorts to throw over her bikini & go. I still love the ones with lace because it makes it even more girly!
Flip Flops - Another cute thing to throw on and run to the beach. Can't beat $10 flip flops!
Bottled Water - Yeah yeah it's boring blah blah blah... but I'm a mom & I know the value of staying hydrated in the sun. Sure I like my drinky drinks (& beer!) but I always have tons of water with me so I don't feel like crap the next day.
March 1, 2015
Friday night I met up with 7 of the best girls I know. We decided a few weeks ago to have a girl's night out complete with dinner, wine, & of course 50 Shades of Grey movie. Oh yeah we went and saw it! And even though the movie wasn't great, catching up with the girls was exactly what we all needed!
Sonia, me, & Melissa
We had the best time catching up, trying new wines, and laughing the whole night. It truly is something I believe every girl no matter how old, how many kids, etc. needs. Can't wait for the next one ladies!
Saturday it was pretty icy outside in the morning, so we hung out indoors until it started to warm up, then ran errands most of the day. Eric, Bella, & I all were craving Italian so we went to one of our favorite places in Round Rock called La Cocina. It's an awesome family restaurant the serves Mexican & Italian food and it's amazing! We finished the night off watching The Loft movie and relaxing.
Such a fun weekend, here's to a week of freezing cold/rainy/yucky weather again in Austin... boo! C'Mon warm Summer days!
