I did this post back in 2012 and some things haven't changed, but some have.
If you REALLY knew me...
July 28, 2015
So the one thing I did in Vegas was buy out almost all of Sephora.
Okay maybe not that much,
but seriously I put a good dent in my wallet.
And I love pretty much everything I bought!
Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream - This is the only product I'm still on the fence about. It gives pretty good coverage, but my face starts feeling oily around lunch time. I've never really had a problem with that before, so I'm kinda iffy on this one.
Make Up Forever Pro Bronze Fusion - I die. I've been wanting this bronzer literally since it came out & I finally got it! I bought the 30I color & it's perfect for my skin tone. I love that it's waterproof, cause it doesn't come off when I'm sweating in this blistering heat! Plus it's beautiful & blends like a dream.
Tarte Lights Camera Splashes Mascara - I've had the original one before and of course loved it, but this one is waterproof. And I live on waterproof mascara. Especially in the summer time. This is more of a lengthening mascara then voluminous, but it really works well on my lashes and lasts all day.
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner - The whole time I was in Vegas I kept noticing my eyeliner fading away. Actually it kept ending up below my eyes due to the heat and that it sucked anyway. So I went and bought this & haven't looked back. It's flippin amazing!! It's so easy to put on and stays put all day long!! And it's not hard to wash off at the end of the day.
Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer - I've sang the praises of this primer before on my blog & once I started running out, I had to grab more. It's a champagne colored base, and let me be honest, I usually use it as my eye shadow! It's beautiful & helps keep your eyeliner on longer. Love!!!
MAC Prep & Prime Fix + - Technically I got this at the MAC store, but it was on the same day in the same haul... so shoot me. I use this before I put my makeup on, afterwards to set my makeup, & also after I wash my face before bed. Oh and I've used it to refresh my makeup during the day. It's pretty much a God Send all in 1 type spray. And I flippin love it!

So let's be quite honest here and tell you that I shall not talk about the crazy times
that were spent this past week in Vegas.
I will PG this post and only show pics
and talk about the trip in good fashion.
1st off let me say that I do not like flying home late Saturday night,
and starting work Monday morning.
My alarm went off at 4:45 a.m. this morning,
which to me is 2:45 a.m. Vegas time.
That would be what time I was usually going to bed...
Now for the pictures!
This was the view from our hotel room.
We stayed at Planet Hollywood & loved it!
Confusing as hell to get in and out of the casino there,
but still a great place to stay!
Eric did a lot of this...
We lost a lot of $$$.
Ah isn't this hotel pretty?
It's the Cosmopolitan Hotel
PRE - POOL FIRE!
We actually talked about staying here sometime,
now... not so much.
We saw 2 shows while we were there...
Beatles Love & Absinthe.
Both were amazing,
both I would definitely see again!
This is us cheering our 1st drink at Hard Rock...
Between 2 beers (in hand),
Macaroni & Cheese for me,
Salad for Eric,
Our bill came to $100!
I shit you not, it was insane!!
Me & one of my besties.
We had the best time together,
pretty much like we always do!
And of course,
we had to take cute selfie together last night in town.
Such a fun vacay,
but definitely glad to be home...
Mainly because we got to do this all day Sunday...
And she loved it!

I saw this on Pinterest and thought
Wow! This is me to a T!
Between work, husband, daughter, karate,
cooking, cleaning, laundry,
2 older dogs, etc. to take care of,
my life is hectic.
But when I go for my run,
it's just me & my thoughts.
I decide how far to run,
I control how fast or slow I want to go that day.
It's all me & I love it.
I get asked all the time,
what made me decide to start running.
And do I love to run now?
My answers are always 1) Eric & 2) NO!
1) Eric was the one who told me it's the fastest way to loose weight.
(He forgot to mention how much it beats my body up!)
He kept telling me to take it easy, start short slow runs.
A year and a half later, I'm usually running
between 2-4 miles!
(I'm still slow! I don't care though)
I hate running.
I dread my run all day at work.
I dread it on my drive to the gym/home to run.
But when I get running something changes.
I start loving it.
The music blaring in my ears,
the only part of my day I'm actually alone.
And when I'm done,
I LOVE it!
Lets be honest, running sucks.
It's hard on your body
(I have shin splints, sprained ankles, & runner's knee from it)
But it really is awesome once you get started!
And it helped me loose exactly how much I wanted to loose,
so you should try it out.
But make sure to start slow & short,
you'll love yourself a year from now!

Whew what a weekend!
It was non stop from Friday afternoon on.
But I'll skip to Saturday.
I was able to get a 3.5 mile run in 1st thing in the morning,
then we packed up and headed to Marble Falls.
We decided since we had nothing planned we'd go to the lake.
We got there and it was beautiful!
We have figured out that we are definite "water people".
We are happy anywhere we can be in the water...
lake, ocean, pool, etc.
The water was perfect and so was the weather!
We ate at River City Grille and below was the view from our table.
I mean does it get any better than this?!
Afterwards, we headed home to rest up for Saturday night.
We ended up taking Bella on the Metro Rail
to downtown Austin.
We walked around and ended up eating at Uncle Julio's
before heading back home.
Sunday we went to church, then headed to Eric's parents' house.
This is pretty much how we spent our Sunday afternoon.
Perfect family weekend overall.
Now the countdown is on
July 8, 2015
I can't wait, in a few weeks we will be heading back to the party capital...
We went with Kellie & Peter last October for their 1st time
& not a month after we got back
we were planning the next trip!
I love Vegas for so many reasons, but here are my top 4.
I know you're thinking there's so many better types of food to eat there, but honestly the pizza is amazing! We went to 2 different pizza places.
New York Pizza in New York New York Casino was our absolute favorite.
We also went to one on Freemont Street that was just as good!
We'll be trying the Secret Pizza inside the Cosmopolitan this time around!
Y'all know my love of shopping anywhere, but for some reason when I'm in Vegas,
I shop like a mad woman!
My favorite shopping is definitely at Fashion Show Mall on the strip.
They have every store you can think of and more in there.
The other place I love to shop is Caesers Palace.
That's definitely more high end shopping, but still a blast!
Of course the shows in Vegas are amazing, and really there's something for everyone.
From the many Cirque De Soleil shows, to crazy adults only shows, there's always something to watch.
Last year we saw Cirque's Zumanity at New York New York & loved it!
It's definitely an adult show, but really funny as well!
This time we're going to see Absinthe in Caseser's Palace.
It's gotten really good reviews, so we're excited to see it!
We also saw O by Cirque a few years ago and loved it!
Honestly, I'm not big into gambling.
Eric loves it so I go with him while he gambles.
I'll do slots & that is fun, but I won't go to tables to save my life!
Anyway those are my favorite things in Vegas,
I'm sure after we get back my list will grow
quite a bit!

I have decided on my motto for the summer.
Or for the year depending on how much I actually stick to it!
Honestly, shouldn't this be everyone's motto?!
Kick ass yet be kind to everyone?
Kick ass in the fact that even though I've had a long day at work
or not feeling 100%
I still go to the gym,
I still get a few miles run in
& I still keep working at making myself better.
I try my hardest to be kind to everyone I know or meet,
this doesn't always work for me!
There's people I honestly can't bring myself to be kind to them,
but I still try.
I feel that being kind to people, especially strangers,
just makes everyone's day better.
So here's my motto...
I plan to stick to it!
July 6, 2015
We had a blast July 4th weekend.
Maybe a little too much.
All 3 of us are really worn down and not feeling 100% today.
We're hoping its from the weekend and not some bug going around.
(Beware tons of photos in this post!)
So Friday Eric & I had off work & took full advantage of it.
Bella decided she wanted to go to summer camp for the day, so we met up with friends for lunch
which ended up turning into having some beers at a new restaurant off Lake Travis.
The lake is finally up and looks beautiful!
We had a great time, then got Bella & went to dinner.
Saturday we woke up early for the Cat Hollow 4th of July parade.
It was actually pretty cloudy so we were worried it would get rained out,
but nope it ended up being sunny and super humid outside instead!
The parade was so cute & the fire department came to cool everyone off afterwards.
Bella finished the parade by going into a foam pit filled with bubbles.
Look at that smile, she was in Heaven!
After the parade and festivities, we went to another festival, then rested before the night started.
We ended up having a shrimp boil with the neighbors & shooting fireworks all night.
The kids loved it (and so did their parents!)
It was a blast!
We actually slept in Sunday morning, then did housework.
We finished the weekend off at the pool having a blast with the neighbors.
My phone takes amazing pictures in motion.
Too bad I'm not a huge fan of the rest of the phone!
Bella always tries to "dive" into the pool.
She usually ends up belly flopping in!
Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend.
Now to rest....
