Weekend Wrap Up

August 31, 2015

What a weekend!
From more remodeling (not yet done, but soon!)
to shopping & lunch with Bella,
to a girl's night out with some of my favorite people,
it was a great weekend!

Saturday I went for a 3 mile run before the remodeling started.
The phase we're in is getting the railing & boxes on the wall.
So I stayed back and let Eric & his dad do those.

I took Bella shopping most of the day, then we went to Salata for lunch.
She LOVED it!

We split a large salad and had some to bring home.
It was delicious!

Saturday night I met up with some of my favs for a girl's night out.
We had dinner at North, then drinks afterwards at Kona Grill.

It was so much fun catching up with these ladies!
They're all so awesome & are definitely some of my closest friends.

Sunday was more remodeling,
but we were able to make it to Rockin' R Waterpark
and let Bella play with her friend for the afternoon.
Perfect weather for it too!

The Evolution of My 3rd Grader

August 28, 2015

One thing I absolutely adore about blogging is being able to go back a few years and look at pictures of my sweet girl growing up.
I think as the years go by you forget just how cute they were
when they were younger.
I found every 1st day of school picture from Kinder to this week.

There's a few things I noticed throughout these...
1) She loves pink! (Only on the 1st day, then it's back to black and grey!)
2) She let's me do her hair! (Again only on the 1st day, after that we're lucky if it's brushed!)
3) She is always so excited for school to start. (That never changes, she loves going to school!)

I seriously cannot believe I have a 3rd grader, but gosh am I proud of her!
We've definitely had bumps in the road...
(especially this week)
but she really is such a smart, happy, hilariously funny little girl.
And I'm so proud and thankful she is mine!

Happy Friday!

Dear Bella

August 25, 2015

As of today you are officially a 3rd grader!

Wow, 3rd grade...
I swear we just dropped you off at Kindergarten.
I hope you know how proud your Daddy & I am of you.
You've become such an amazing kid right before our eyes.
The little toddler who loved Sesame Street & dancing until you fell down
is now a full fledged 3rd grader,
running around with your friends,
working hard at karate to get your purple belt,
talking to us like a little adult.

It makes my heart happy and sad all at the same time.
I love that we have long talks on the car ride home
 from summer camp everyday.
You telling me all the new things you did,
dances you've learned,
friends you've made.
I hope it never ends.

You're such a kind hearted, sweet, caring, loving little girl,
but so fiercely independent at the same time.
You still love to cuddle with us,
& I hold on a little too tight
for fear you'll slip away too soon.

So, on your 1st day of 3rd grade,
I hope you remember that you can accomplish anything!
You, my Love, are the brightest light in mine & your Daddy's eyes,
and we can't wait to see what amazing things you will accomplish this year.

We love you.

The Weekend of Remodeling

August 24, 2015

So it's Sunday night and I am extremely exhausted,
my legs and arms feel like they may fall off soon,
& yet I'm so excited!

All weekend long we've been remodeling our formal dining & living room.
And by remodeling I mean painting, putting up wainscotting, and making it look
COMPLETELY different!

This is how it looked before we started.
Notice the light blue paint I decided was beautiful 6 years ago when we moved in.
Blah...

Note: The wall by the stairs is messed up due to our AC breaking and leaking!
Luckily no mold, but still hideous!

So we decided to go with a mid-dark gray & bright white trim.
It turned out great!
Before I show after pictures, here's the paint color info:

The gray is Dovetail by HGTV Sherwin Williams Showcase paint @ Home Depot.
It's in the satin finish.
The white trim is Foundation White, also HGTV Sherwin Williams Showcase paint
in a satin finish.

Without further ado...

This is the entryway. I didn't take pictures of the actual room yet seeing as we didn't finish.
This was a much harder project than we expected!
We decided to do wainscoting on the bottom half of the stairs and main room,
and that's not done yet.
Check back next Monday for the big reveal!

And to end on a high note...
Bella was excited to help her Daddy & Grandpa paint!
Well for at least 20 minutes or so!
Happy Monday!

Obsessed

August 20, 2015

I haven't blogged about a makeup product I'm obsessed with in like forever.
And todays is a bonus because it's drugstore!!

Loreal True Match Lumi - Holy crap I love this highlighter!
It's a liquid that comes out as a rose gold color, but once it's blended into the top of my cheeks,
it just glows! GLOWS!

I've never been a highlighter person, but I put this on after my makeup with a Beauty Blender
& it looks fabulous!
Best thing is I paid less than $10 for it!

If you're looking for a great highlighter than doesn't break the bank,
definitely try this one.
It comes in 3 shades, but I recommend the rose gold color.

Catching Up

August 19, 2015

I'll be honest here and say that it's the end of the summer,
the days are insanely hot,
and blogging is at a stand still for me.

At our casa, we're getting ready to remodel the huge front room & stairs this weekend,
while also getting ready for school to start next Tuesday!
(SCORE!!)

Other than those shenanigans, it's pretty normal and quiet in the Munoz residence.
Bella's working her little behind off to get a purple belt in September...
Look at that determination!
She missed a class or two last month due to not feeling well,
so we're making sure not to miss a single class this month & next.
And good Lord is she exhausted!

After being at camp all day, I pick her up,
get dinner cooked & fed,
then head straight to karate.
It's exhausting for her & you can tell she's just trying her hardest
to make it through!
Thank goodness next week school starts & she'll be in AC all day again!

Last night I got to meet up with this pretty lady for a belated birthday celebration.
Sonia & I have been best friends for years,
and when it's one of our birthdays we take the birthday girl out for sushi.
We had a blast last night catching up, having some wine, & delicious sushi.
Love this girl!

I'll be posting before and after shots of our house next week here.
Hope and pray that it'll turn out well!
We're not huge into remodeling, but we sure are going to try!

Happy Wednesday!

Weekend Wrap Up - Birthday Edition

August 17, 2015

Whew what a birthday!
Friday was so awesome.
Eric & Bella surprised me with birthday cards & a pair of boots I've been wanting!
Getting to work, I had flowers & Starbucks waiting for me,
then Eric had another surprise up his sleeve...
Tiff's Treats were delivered to my office for me!
A dozen chocolate chip cookies warm and delicious!

I was in Heaven!
Friday night we went with friends to see Mission Impossible,
then headed for drinks and dancing until the wee hours of the night!

Although I didn't feel awesome Saturday morning, I definitely had the best night before!
I got to sleep in a little, then we took Bella to the LBJ Museum to see The Beatles exhibit.
It was awesome and we all loved it!

We finished the day at K1 Racing letting Bella ride go carts.
She was seriously insanely happy the whole night after getting to drive a go kart!
Made my whole weekend!

Sunday we did some house updating, then met friends at a pool and let the kids play for a few hours.
Overall an insanely fun, happy, family weekend
& definitely a birthday I'll never forget.

Thank you to Eric & Bella for such a great birthday weekend!

34

August 14, 2015

Wow another year has gone by in my life.
It almost seems depressing instead of happy.
Almost.

So I turn 34 today and usually I blog about what's happened the last year in my life, and what's to come, but instead of dwelling on the past, I only want to talk about the future.

In this next year...
Eric & I will celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary
&
16 years together.
Yes, we're old.

Also, Bella will be starting 3rd grade soon & will turn 9 in January.
Yes, I'm old.

As for me, I plan on changing a few things around in my life this coming year.
(See previous post)
I also plan to spend it happier and more grateful than I did last year.
Bad things happen, but I am going to make a conscious effort to try and deal with those better than I have in the past.
I plan to change my attitude to a lot of things & try to overall be a happier person than I am now.

We will be celebrating my 34th tonight with some of our closest friends,
& I plan to have quite a few cocktails during the night!

Here's to hoping I can wake up Saturday not hungover and regretting Friday night!
Cheers!!

Birthday Wants

August 13, 2015

So since my birthday is tomorrow, I figured I'll post a birthday wants
eventhough I know Eric won't be reading this.
But just in case....

Frye Boots - I have one pair I got last year and am insanely in love with them. As in wore them every single day in the Fall, Winter, & Spring I loved them so much! Another pair to add to my wardrobe would be amazing!

Born This Way Foundation - I keep hearing amazing things about this foundation. And although I own a ton of foundations and BB Creams, I definitely want to try this one SOON!

Brooklyn Brewery Tank - I have been wanting this tank top for years, and just never actually bought it for myself. Granted I've never tried beer from Brooklyn Brewery, but I will damn sure try it once I'm wearing this awesome tank!

Gift Cards - Seriously, who doesn't love gift cards?! Easiest present to give & best present to get because you pick what you want! Keeps from having to return the gift and pick out something else you'll actually use!

I'm not sure honestly what Eric has in store for me tomorrow, but I can't wait to find out!
Happy Day Before My Birthday!
(Also known as Thursday!)

Changing

August 11, 2015

I have this overwhelming feeling that life will be changing for me soon.
No no babies or anything changing with Eric, but in a totally different way.
I am going to be vague about it on here for now,
but let's just say I haven't been happy for a while now.
Family life is good, but I feel like I'm missing out on the fun times with my husband and baby girl because I'm usually either stressed, mad, depressed, etc.
Or lucky me, a combo of all of those emotions rolled into one.
And I intend to change that.
{via}

On Friday I am turning 34.
Not a huge birthday but definitely a chance to start new.
Change a lot of things I hate or am unhappy with in my life.
I'm lucky because Eric knows what's going on & is behind me 100%.
He just wants the old me back,
the me that was happy, laughing constantly instead of crying.
The me that wanted to get out and have fun with my family
instead of sitting at home depressed all the time.
And I want the old me back too.

So hopefully in the coming months,
things will start changing
& life will start getting better and brighter for me.
At least I can hope (and make an effort)
to change it for the better.

Weekend Wrap Up

August 10, 2015

Is it Sunday already?!
I swear these weekends seem to fly by before I can even catch my breath.
Please don't let tomorrow be Monday!!

Friday night we headed back home to Dallas to see my family.
We haven't been in a few months & we were ready to celebrate my nephew's 16th birthday!
(I swear I'm not old enough to have a teenage nephew! ;) )

We started Saturday morning with a 3 mile run in my Dad's neighborhood. My sister brought the birthday boy to my Dad's to surprise him...
We all pitched in to help get his 1st car!
To say he loves it is an understatement!
He took Bella on the 1st ride around the neighborhood and they had a great time!

They are so great together and so close!
He even brought his football helmet for her to try on!

She was so excited!

Afterwards, we took them to Dave & Buster's to start his birthday celebration off.
Tanya, Eric, & I had a nice mid afternoon cocktail while they ran around playing every game imaginable!

We finished the night off with my Dad's home cooking & had the best time with my whole family.
It's nice to go home every once in a while, getting to spend time with all of them & laughing hysterically every time!

We came back to Austin Sunday morning and have been running errands ever since.
I think I need an extra day off to actually get in some relaxation!

Weekend Wrap Up

August 3, 2015

This was the most relaxing, fun family/friends weekend we've had in a while!
We started Saturday morning out with a 5K run then got ready and went on a ton of errands.
We took Bella to Urban Air to get some of her energy out.
Eric & I thought it would be fun to join her and bounce on trampolines for an hour,
big mistake! My back hurt the rest of the day!
Guess I'm not a teenager anymore!

Afterwards we headed to AT&T to switch phones.
Eric took my Samsung Note 4 & I got an IPhone 4 Plus!
Lemme just say I friggin love that phone!
Eric has spent every free minute setting his up as well and loves it,
so it's a win win!

Saturday night we had a bunch of friends over to watch the UFC fight in our garage.
I went to open the fridge and saw that we were all ready for a long night and a great fight!

We ended up adding more as more people showed up.
It was a great time & the whole 34 seconds of Rhonda's fight was awesome!
Ha!

Sunday we mainly spent the afternoon at the pool.
video

We always have such a blast with our friends swimming and laying out.
Eric gets a good workout the whole time as well!
He usually throws her like this at least 10x!
We came home afterwards and made homemade pizza.
It was a wonderful evening!
